“Autumn Holiday for Two”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

It you are looking for a quiet and peaceful holiday this is not for you as the hotel is situated on the outskirts of Sorrento and on the westerly main road out of the town. As a result it is quite noisy from the traffic passing by and to sit on the balcony is not ideal unless you are in a room above the 4th Floor. Having said that, my wife and I had a truly wonderful time at the hotel. The staff, whatever their role, were superb. The hotel is about SERVICE with a capital "S". Nothing is too much trouble. On top of that the food is wonderful whether it is in the main restaurant or in one of the other two places to eat. We stayed from the 2 September until the 13th on Half Board and were in Room 404. This is a larger room catering for a third person on a settee type bed. We simply cannot recommend this hotel enough except to say that we gave it 10 out of 10 for everything and to say "thank you" to the staff for making our stay really great.

We have just returned from an amazing week at Hotel Bristol ,Sorrento.

We stayed in Villa Bianca which is a separate suite from the hotel with its own terrace with hot tub
The suite was beautifully furnished with a gorgeous white four poster and lovely complimentary furniture.I must also add that the huge shower was awesome.

The staff at the hotel couldn't do enough for you and always had a smile on their faces.
Infact we had the same treatment throughout sorrento and the surrounding areas.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough !

Room Tip: Villa Bianca is worth the extra! Hiring a scooter is a great way to get around!

This was our second time at the Bristol and we enjoyed it enormously once again. It has stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Sorrento, is very convenient to town, has very friendly staff and is spotlessly clean. Ercole, Antonio and the other members of the team at reception are very friendly and most helpful. We eat here one night and the food was excellent though you are spoiled for choice with so many great restaurants within walking distance. It is one of our all-time favourites and we will be back some day-hopefully soon.

Room Tip: Just ask for a balcony-the view is fantastic. But beware-taxis are extremely expensive in Sorrento

Our room was on the fifth floor with a large balcony. There were stunning views over the bay of Sorrento and to Naples and Vesuvius. We spent a lot of time there just chilling. The rooftop bar and lounge area as well as the pool all had stunning views. The pool especially was spotlessly clean and unlike many hotels, sunbeds were plentiful. Yes drinks were pricey but they always are in hotels we have found. Service in the restaurant was excellent and the food wonderful. I can't understand why anyone would think anything different. All in all a great hotel with one of the best positions in Sorrento. Yes I agree it's a little pricey but no complaints from us meant it was worth it.

Just arrived home after a beautiful stay (when the weather was good) at the Hotel Bristol. Grande hotel, luxurious marble, staircases, mirrors and bedrooms. The prettiest view from the balcony's, and the rooftop was incredible. Rattan sofas to refreshingly cool pool. Overpriced drinks, and the food was poor. Most of the family dreaded the evening meals due to lack of choice and quality. Mass produced. Not the Italian delights we would have expected for a very expensive half board week.

We stayed at the Bristol hotel for 9 nights in August. I booked a junior suite, requested the one shown on the website, and got it. We really loved our room, which had a small balcony overlooking Marina Grande and the most wonderful views over Sorrento. The staff at this hotel are extremely professional, mannerly and charming. The swimming pool area was great. There is a bit of a rush to get sunbeds in the sun each morning, like all hotels I guess. We had lunch in the outdoors restaurant twice and that was really enjoyable. The bar has a beautiful setting overlooking the sea. There is an available PC to check emails etc. We went to different places in the town to eat each night, including a fantastic restaurant in Marina Grande called Delfino. Delicous food and well worth a visit. We really loved Sorrento and I will definitely return and stay again in the Bristol hotel. Capris was very busy, extremely expensive, and we spent most of our time there queueing, so it was disappointing. Pompeii is well worth a visit and is just like walking through a history book. We also wanted to visit Positano which was highly recommended, but we were so happy in the hotel and Sorrento itself, that we didn't get around to it. If you are wondering whether to book this hotel, I would say definitely do, you won't be disappointed. It is old world charm in a modern setting and it is extremely clean, comfortable and well run.
