“June 2014”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

We went for 2 weeks half board, which was unusual for us as we like to try local restaurants when on holiday. However, the restaurant food and setting were both excellent, so we didn't feel the need to eat out. The views across the bay from the hotel were stunning. Staff were very helpful and the bedroom was kept very clean. The location of the hotel was also good as although it was out of town it was only a short walk to the shops and bars, Also, it was just a 15 minute walk to the train and bus station so we could easily visit all the local sites including Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum , Naples and the Amalfi coast. The cost of using trains and buses were both cheap. The hotel had a lovely sun terrace but the pool was the only negative, as we felt it was too deep even in the shallow end at 1.6m. The pool also had a rope around it, so you couldn't sit on the edge and put your feet in the water.

Just had another relaxing holiday at this lovely hotel. We have been visiting the hotel for over 13 years now and just love returning year after year! The Hotel Bristol is full of charm and offers incredible views of the fantastic coastline of Sorrento, something we never ever get tired of seeing, whether during the day or night! All the staff are polite, smart and always there to assist with a smile, whether on reception, dining areas, bar or pool areas.

This is not a hotel to stay at if you are not willing to relax and just want to be on your mobile or iPad all the time, it's a place to go to when you want to truly relax and enjoy yourself and leave refreshed! It oozes charm and offers customers an ambience that a lot of hotels throughout the world have lost or have never had in the first place!

Just love this place and always feel welcome!

Mel & Vicky

Repeat visit so we knew we were in for a treat. The wonderful Bristol Hotel is built into the rock and proudly stands looking over beautiful Sorrento, quaint Marina Grande and the giant Vesuvius. It is a ten minute walk to the start of the town and, in another ten minutes, you are at the station or the port. There is a bus stop near the front entrance.

The rooms are lovely and we have stayed in a few. We particularly loved staying in a suite with a very large balcony. It was a bright, comfortable room and spotlessly clean.

The dining room was truly lovely with breathtakingly beautiful views. The service was excellent. We were happy to meet Matteo once again, the most gracious maitre d. All the waiters were charming and friendly and a credit to the hotel.

The food and wine in the evening were both very good so no complaints at all from us. Eating in the lovely restaurant was a treat and we prefer eating there to eating out in the town. Breakfasts were very good too- lots of choice from a well presented buffet plus the option of a cooked breakfast.

The pool area is lovely and there is a small cafe on that level. There is another level where you can relax on loungers or sit in the shade. There is a restaurant where lunch is served in the summer months.

We had a lovely holiday and would highly recommend this hotel. It is worth booking for the views alone. The hill? This is a gentle pull and not a climb, not difficult at all.

Book and enjoy.

Room Tip: Book a sea view with a balcony, if you can,as the views are spectacular. Suites are obviously better...

My boyfriend and I stayed here a year or so ago and we were really impressed.

The rooms were minimalist, bright and clean. We had a room that overlooked the bay in Sorrento, what a view! We spent many evenings on our cute balcony playing cards and watching the fireworks.

The restaurant was amazing service second to none and the food was always spot on.

The roof too pool was not to busy, and the view from up there was even better than the one from our room.

Really can't complain about anything. Would definitely recommend this to friends.

This was our second visit to the Bristol (That should speak volumes ) and it did not disappoint, The hotel is in a very good location just a shot stroll (10 minuets) to Sorrento town with all its shops & restaurants. It also commands a fantastic view over the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius both from many rooms & the amazing sun terrace & pool. There is pool bar for drinks & snacks. The food is great and served in a nice dinning room also with the fabulous views. The staff are great nothing is to much trouble for them. My special thanks to Salvatori and the reception team. Have already booked for next year.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter you know how the italians like there car horns.

We're just back from a fantastic trip to Sorrrento where we stayed in the Bristol. When we arrived we were given a beautiful room but it was next to the lifts and having had an unfortunate experience previous with noisy lifts I asked for a change of room and we were duly given another room. It wasn't as nice as the first one but we thought it would surfice. After one night we thought differently, it was on the third floor and facing out on the main road which ment alot of noise from traffic and mopeds. We requested a different room again ( something we wouldn't normally do but this was an expensive holiday and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I was determined that we deserved peace and quiet). When we went to reception I think they thought we were nusince customers nevertheless they accomadated us and put us on the sixth floor. What a room, it had a beautiful view (as did the others). almost noise free and just so comfortable. Thank you to all concerned, room number was 623.
This hotel is magnicifient, the views from the pool, dining room almost from every angle were superb. The best hotel for views that we have ever stayed in.
We were anxious about going half board as we don't normally but our fears were unfounded. the food was fabulous, everything tasted beautiful. The fish dishes are far ahead of most fish dishes you would get in many restaurants in Galway.
Staff were courtuous, friendly and good fun. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. Almost forgot the shutters in the windows are brillant, blocked out the light almost totally. Well done all at Hotel Bristol.

Room Tip: Anything from the 6th floor up is lovely and quiet.
