“Excellent Hotel & Superb Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2008

Stayed at this hotel for one week in September as we were getting married. The hotel is in a perfect location overlooking the Bay of Naples. The hotel itself is excellent and the staff are fantastic. They looked after us extremely well, especially during our wedding reception. The food was traditionally Italian and varied each day. Ideally we would have liked to stay on a B&B basis however this option was not available to us. We booked through Topflight and our room was located on the 3rd floor in the annex. We were told we would have to pay extra to be guaranteed a balcony but decided not to bother and was pleasantly surprised to find we did have a balcony and a room with a seaview without paying extra. We would like to thank all the staff especially Antonio, Ercole, Matteo, Pasquale, Salvatore and Tony. It was a pleasure staying in your hotel and we would hope to return soon.

We celebrated our wedding here June 2008 and it was absolutely incredible!

The staff were first rate and made sure everything was in order. We switched to this hotel very last minute and I was very worried as we hadn't visited the hotel. We have travelled out to Italy and decided on the perfect venue only for everything to go wrong. Luckily we changed for the better and everything was perfect!

We stayed there for a week and had a brilliant villa, admittedly up a few steps, but with incredible panoramic views of the whole of Sorrento, lage hammock, four-poster bed and outside jacuzzi.

The hotel manager and his staff were always on hand, made recommendations and made it their duty to enure out stayed was out of this world. They organised a tenor and pianist to play, arrival drinks, meal, fireworks, sparklers for guests, cake, music and drinks after... all of which was well beyond our expectations.

The hotel was clean, tidy and well presented in a traditional Italian style.

We chose our wedding meal a few days before and were treated to a complimentary try of everything on offer..... full versions of 4 courses, 3 options on each!!!!!! We couldn't move afterwards, but the food was simply superb. 5* cuisine! In fact, we've stayed in a top Dubai hotel, but this food was better.

Easy walk into town and your on the road that leads out along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Hire a car and go to Positano & Ravello... enjoy the widing roads and spectacluar views.

I can't wait to have an aniversay and go back. No where does romance better than this place.

Bristol is the perfect hotel in Sorrento. We stayed here with our families for my wedding in October this year. The hotel was perfect! Everyone was raving about how great it was! The hotel staff were sooo friendly and efficient and helpful. They helped me organise everything from Australia and I couldn't be more happy with my decision to have the reception lunch at Bristol. The always responded to all my many email requests.

We stayed in Villa Bianca which was just magic. We had so much privacy - our own gardens which was perfect for us to invite our friends over after the wedding and drink champagne overlooking the bay.

My family had a mixture of rooms and suites in the hotel which were also really lovely with amazing views.

The rooms are very well priced compared with the rest of Sorrento.

The food at the reception was amazing, and my in-laws are Italian and they were very impressed!

Its a lovely 10 minute stroll into the main part of Sorrento. Taxis are VERY expensive in Sorrento. Bring good walking shoes and you will be totally fine.

The only one bad thing was the terrible shower we had in our suite. I have hundreds of photos, contact me for more info if you like.

I thought this hotel was only slightly above average and certainly not a true 4* hotel. We had a partial sea view room on a higher floor and the room was decorated in true italian style with the linens and tile but it was dated. We were visiting in February which was the low season and the wind howled all night through our windows. The pros- the cliff side location, views, and room size. The neutrals- restaurant, decor, & staff. The cons- a bit far out of town. It was part of a package tour we booked from Rome that included an overnight in Sorrento and the ferry side to Capri. This hotel was chosen for us by the tour co. and we really weren't impressed like the other reviewers. For one night it was fine but it wouldn't be my first choice to stay there for a week.

We stayed at the Bristol for a family Wedding in October 08. We stayed for one week and i thought it was a lovely hotel with fantastic service.

The first night we stayed we were served a cold meal - myself and my sister are vegetarians and ended up with meat. Made us a bit weary about the stay but it was the only flaw the whole stay.

The location was only 10 mins walk from the centre of town and the culture was fantastic.

The food was faultless and was some of the best i have tasted. The service was second to none and i would recommend this hotel for that alone. I would go there again in a heartbeat. It was very cultured and a very relaxing holiday with lovely food and brilliant service.

From the moment we were shown our beautiful room and amazing view we thought we had died and gone to heaven. Sorrento is the most beautiful place and Hotel Bristol is high on the cliff overlooking the whole of the town, coastline and Bay of Naples. We watched the ferries coming and going and the twinkling lights at night. The included breakfast was an absolute feast compared to other hotels we had stayed in. The whole hotel is beautiful with lounges, bars and dining-rooms all over the place, all with the same amazing views.
The men in the breakfast dining room were always bright and cheerful and the men on the front desk always obliging with advice and information - especially Salvatore who looked after us extremely well. We had a small sitting room area and then the sleeping area, and the bathroom was nice and big, unlike some other hotels where the only place to put your toiletry bag is on the floor. The Hotel Bristol is just a short walk into the main town of Sorrento, no need for taxis. The bus does pass the door if you need it - a very short trip.

The Hotel Bristol looked wonderful from the photographs and it exceeded our expectations in every repect. The location is breathtaking, it was a short walk into Sorrento, the staff were incredibly helpful, the facilities at the hotel superb and the food very good. We would like to go back and I would recommend it to anyone.
