My husband and I stayed in Hotel Bristol for one week and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The hotel was great. We stayed in a junior suite and had our own terrace and jacuzzi. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very helpful. Some flights were cancelled due to the volcano ash and Reception staff were very reassuring and helpful with alterative travel arrangements etc.
The hotel is around 10 minutes walk from Sorrento but the views from the rooms made this walk very worthwhile. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning and the range and quality of the food was very good.
I would certainly return to this hotel when next in Sorrento.

Visited Sorrento for the first time staying at the Hotel Bristol. I would advise a room with a balcony as the views overlooking the Marina Grande and the Bay of Naples were amazing. I think they could be the best views in all of Sorrento. The rooms were very clean and the staff professional but welcoming and friendly. The food was good and there was plenty of choice. Like many hotels with tiled floors the rooms did echo and at night you could hear other guests returning to their rooms and slamming the doors. As I am a light sleeper I found this annoying. There was a short downhill walk to the town passed orange trees in May bloom and the smell was glorious. The shops were varied and there were plenty of cafes and restaurants for all tastes and budgets. Sorrento has a train service to Naples and is an ideal place for visits to Pompeii, Amalfi and Capri.

5)included breakfast with many selections
6)VIEW VIEW VIEW- saw sunrise every morning!!!

We stayed for one week in May 2010. There are very few faults to this hotel. It was spotlessly clean, the location was ideal less than ten minutes walk to the Piazza Tasso centre of the town of Sorrento (with no massive hills or inclines). Our room had a spectacular sea view from our balcony with an additional private terrace overhead.

Hotel positives:
Location
View
Excellent service from the staff
Food excellent (and in the whole of Sorrento we did not get a substandard meal during our stay)
Great base from which to plan excursions to Pompeii and Capri

Hotel negatives:
Very few
Lack of free internet connection
Lack of wireless internet in the rooms

Our first stay at the Bristol hotel was unexpectedly extended due to the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud and cancellation of our flight home. We couldn't have stayed in a better place. The hotel is beautiful, the location stunning and the rooms are comfortable and clean. It is the staff, however, who make the hotel a fantastic place to stay, they are so friendly, polite and helpful. They pay attention to detail, whether you are in the restaurant, at reception or around the beautiful pool. Highly recommended to all.

This hotel and town was beautiful. The staff at this hotel were very pleasant and helpful at all times. The views are amazing and it is just a short walk into town. We would stay there again if we ever go back
