Just back from a weeks holiday at the Aminta, first time at the Aminta and looking forward to returning. All staff were friendly and cannot praise them enough, kind and helpful from the minute we stepped into the hotel until the minute we left for home.Beautiful hotel and tastefully decorated in a stunning location, amazing views from our balcony, room was spotless and well equipped, the food was excellent and the service impeccable. A great boost before the British winter.

Stayed at the Aminta for 3 of our 7 nights in Sorrento. We were supposedly upgraded from a room in the Annex building to a pair of rooms on the 4th floor of the main building. The views were great, and the lobby area has a recently renovated feel, the staff are great and helpful, however the positives stopped there for us. Room although not unpleasant offered nothing to shout about, sound of slamming doors seemed to echo through the building to give you an early wake up call. Breakast likewise was not bad, just not the highest of quality.. somewhat expected given the scale of the hotel. Shuttle bus worked well, but you are constantly having to clock watch, which soon becomes annoying. I can see how this hotel would appeal if you wanted to lounge by a pool with the great views, and just relax but we like to get out and about and explore for which being situated in central Sorrento works out better, especially for day trips to Capri, Positano/Amalfi, Pompeii etc. In summary, not bad.. more the second half of our stay in central Sorrento was just far superior

We have just come back from a short break from this hotel,
our first impression was the hotel is very clean and very well kept, presented and furnished.
after going past a few of the hotels on the way it was a relief to find the hotel is tucked away from the busy parts of sorrento but is still only a 5 min drive in the free shuttle bus the aminta supplies.
in my opinion the views are litteraly breathtaking overlooking sorrento, naples and mt vesuvious and are the best views you can get.
the food is excellent (expecially the bruschetta!), the house wine is excellent and the staff all speak good english and present in a very smart proffesional manner,
Our room had a jaccuzi bath, shower en suite, huge bed, tv with english channels, mini bar free wifi. from getting picked up from the airport to getting dropped off to the airport there is nothing whatsoever i can complain about!
some people may find this helpfull but we only noticed english, americans and italians staying here. if italian people stay here it must be good!

Located a few miles outside Sorrento centre. Not suitable for disabled people with about 12 steps at the entrance with no ramp. Clean but disapointing rooms for a four star hotel. Food in hotel is a very high standard and many nights have free entertainment in the bar. No fitness area, gym, sauna etc and outdoor pool is not heated.

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for posting your comments about your stay at the Aminta. Unfortunately, due to many stairs throughout the hotel, it is not easily accessible for guests with wheelchairs. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the evening entertainment. Thanks again and best regards.

Nice hotel, but far to walk to town and up the hill if you walk back, there is bus but doesn`t go that often. Food was ok, but not the best, next time i wouldn`t go for half board as there are so many nice restaurant`s in Sorrento and food seemed to taste the same every night. Room was nice small with beatiful view to Vesuvios. Pool was very cold, maybe it gets warmer in summer. Next time i would choose a hotel in town. The hardest and most uncomfortable bed we ever slept in!!

Dear Guest, We appreciate you posting your comments regarding your stay at the Aminta. The Aminta is special mainly due to its location on the hill looking over the bay of Naples, this is one of the main reasons guests book with us. There is a free shuttle bus service that runs every hour to and from town, it only stops running for 2 1/2 hours during siesta time when most shops are closed. Thanks again for writing us and best wishes.

My auntie and I stayed in the Aminta for 5 nights in October. On arrival we immediately felt at home due to the friendly welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and the balcony provided excellent views. Due to the location of the hotel the shuttle bus is a necessity  however we did walk to and from town on some occasions including late one night. Not for the faint hearted! Breakfast was continental and we had no complaints. Sorrento is beautiful town and the Aminta is an excellent base for the Amalfi coast. We were sad to leave. Guests and staff alike contributed to our enjoyable experience. Thanks to Tony and Gianluigi for some good laughs!

My husband and I returne AGAIN to this fabulous hotel in July this year. Once again we were treated excellently by all staff. Some recognised us from last year and seemed really pleased to see us. We were given a free bottle of wine with our meal on the first evening there as the restaurant staff remembered us. The same thing happened later that evening with the bar staff.
The owner also remembered us and we spent a lot of our evenings out with him and his friends after the bar closed in the hotel down in Sorrento town. We got to see the real Italian hospitality. This all made for a very different experience to our trip last year.
The hotel itself is excellent. The view is one of the most fantastic ever seen. It is situated up in the "Milky Moutains" overlooking the bay of Naples with Mount Versuvius directly opposite. Great photo opportunity.
The hotel is a 10 or 20 minute walk depending on fitness down hill to Sorrento town but really tough coming up. The bus stop is directly opposite the hotel but there is also a hotel coach that runs nearly every hour for free that takes you into town and drops you and picks up outside a shop called Lucky Store. One word of warning though. Be there for pick ups about 5 mins before just in case you miss it. They don't hang around!!! A taxi from town up to the hotel would cost you at least £25!!!!
The one downside to this holiday as apposed to last year we found was that the prices for EVERYTHING has almost doubled. A pint of lager is about £4 and a bottle of wine around £14 but I think that's all over the country at the moment not the hotels fault.
Saying that I wouldn't hesitate to tell anybody to stay at this beautiful hotel. It takes about an hour and a half to get to once you leave Naples airport too.
Give it a try and i'm sure you would book again in minutes.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool area are excellent for views but they do face a busy sometimes noisy road that...
