We spent 7 nights at the Aminta (on half board) when visiting Pompeii and other places of interest in this part of Italy. The location is on a hill with lovely views. It is out of the town but a regular free shuttle bus service is provided. There is free wifi which was appreciated. We liked the terraces and the pool - a good size for a hotel pool. The pool is not heated and rather cold but this suited us as the people using it were serious swimmers and not for those just larking around. There are plenty of places for sitting, reading, enjoying a drink and admiring the views. The bar by the pool is attractive and the service good. Our room was adequate but the shower was very small. Many rooms had a balcony but ours did not. The breakfasts were nothing special (there was a vast array of cakes which do not suit most British tastes) but our evening meals were mostly good and the waiter service excellent. We would be happy to return to the Aminta if we go to Sorrento again.
