Our room and bathroom were clean and spacious. But the food and service were mediocre. Fruit and vegetables tinned or frozen. No choice of main course on two evenings. However, the attendance of waiting staff at 01.00 to serve a cold supper (BA flight delay) was appreciated.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road are noisy when the window is open for ventilation.

Our stay in Sorrento was certainly enhanced by our stay at the Aminta which is a beautiful hotel on the outskirts of the town-the views from our room across the Bay were amazing and the and it was near enough for us to walk in Sorrento every day-its location was first class and the quality of service was excellent-nothing was too much for the staff and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast which set us nicely for the day!!!we would certainly recommend for any traveller wanting to stay in this area

A warm welcome greeted us when we arrived at reception and a porter took our luggage to the annex where our rooms had been upgraded from the garden view we had booked to having balconies and sea views across the bay to Vesuvius! Wow! Rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. The choice and quality of food at breakfast was excellent as were the dinner we had on our first night and two subsequent lunches (we had booked B&B). All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and efficient - nothing seemed too much effort. The location of the hotel was stunning, out of town so quieter, with a fabulous terrace and views of the whole bay, and we made daily use of the free shuttle bus into Sorrento. We had booked through BA at sale prices and were delighted with the standard of service and facilities. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would use it if returning to the area.

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. The porter helped us park the car and with our cases. We arrived late on our first night and the hotel was so thoughtful and saved us a meal, we had a room upgrade to a sea view with balcony. It was absolutely spot on!
We were half board which was excellent. The food was very good and plenty of it!!! Beware if you are on a diet or lack self control as there were so many lovely things to eat! The pasta dishes were particularly superb. The whole restaurant was run extremely efficiently and the waiting staff very friendly and helpful.
The free bus was good if you didn't fancy walking to town.
The hotel is situated up a hill, but it was great to be there instead of the busy, noisy town. It was very tranquil with spectacular views over the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius.
We did hire a car, which I would not recommend, it was extremely stressful and draining, with mopeds coming at you from all angles!!!!
I can't thank Hotel Aminta enough, it was great.

On arrival at Aminta we were offered no help with baggage up a steep slope and steps into the hotel. Although a porter did help up to our room from reception. Entrance and public areas were all very smart and comfortable. Which left us surprised that our room was not up to the same standard, more of a 3star than 4.5, quite basic no pleasant décor and no tea / coffee making facilities. Maid came in each day but towels not always changed, nor bed made properly on at least two occasions leaving sheets crumpled. with bed spread just being pulled over. Bathroom okay, except grubby marks around door handles. Moving on to dining room very smart décor, breakfast okay usual variety but bacon and sausage very poor quality. Evening meal very disappointing, if you are hoping for some Italian delights you will be left wanting. Meat tough and fatty, only one fish meal of red bream was enjoyable. Although we were half board, on two occasions we went into Sorrento for dinner rather than sit through another disastrous meal. We were told by other guests the Gala and Neapolitan evenings no choice of food, which again was disappointing. In conclusion if you are looking for Italian culinary delights give The Aminta a wide berth.

The Hotel is located up high up a hill via winding road but brilliantly location to feel you are in the countryside away from the hustle of the town but close enough to get into town (10 mins approx). As we arrived late evening, we could not go to town to find a meal. The reception phoned through to the restaurant to expect us. We had a great meal. All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. Our room was in the annex and had a sea view and was very quiet. We navigated through a secret walk to it following a path lined with sweet rosemary and olive trees. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. Yes the bed was a bit hard but we got use to it. Indeed the whole hotel was spotless. The breakfasts were buffet style and you just helped yourself with a wide variety of choices and all fresh. We ate at the restaurant for two evenings and were served good proportions. We sat out on the terrace by the bar and the swimming pool area and had amazing views of over Sorrento, the coast and Mount Vesuvius. There was a free hotel bus that had prearranged times for picking up from the hotel to the town centre and visa versa. To sum up, friendly, very efficient and highly recommended.

Hotel is very good. English style breakfast included cereal, eggs, bacon, yogurt, various breads for toast, croissants, meat, cheese, etc. very good,!
The hotel runs a bus to Sorrento center on the hour, returns on the 1/2 hour, very convenient.
Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful.
Bed was harder than I like.
I recommend this hotel, and would stay there again.
