Stayed for one week, we were in sorrento for our sons wedding. About 36 guests all scattered around sorrento,10 of us in aminta,we all had lovely rooms and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was excellent always hot and tasty, seemed expensive but when we compared . to our other friends in other hotels in sorrento ours was certainly one of the best. The aminta is a bit far out but this didn't hinder us at all and the free shuttle bus was fine. Loved it........

Room Tip: We had a garden view with balcony, not much to see but really quiet and spacious.

I don't know how to start this review, as there are soo many good things stay! We absolutely loved this hotel.

The staff: These guys and gals must love what they do as that was my impression by the way the carried on. Always smiles and always willing to help point you in the right direction.

The room: We got really lucky and got upgraded to a room with a view. We were in the annex building and it was perfect. The room was spacious, clean and charming. We had our own tv, free wi-fi, our own balcony which looked out towards the ocean and the setting sun. I loved our room!

The hotel: beautiful and clean, just like in the photos we reviewed before we booked. The best part was the patio and pool! Sorrento is hot, so a pool is a nice touch to cool off. But the patio provides a great place to sit with a bottle of local wine and stare out over the Bay of Naples, Latteri Mountains, and with a gorgeous view of Vesuvius.

They have a shuttle bus that takes you to town pretty much every hour, but if you want to walk, there is a great foot path that gives you some great views of Sorrento and the surrounding area. Just a heads up, great going down, long walk going up :).

Overall, we loved this place and the people! When we go back to Sorrento, we will be staying with the great people at Grande Aminta!

Stayed for 9 nights in July 2014. Really enjoyed staying here. Basic but nice room with balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples. Great views from terrace over the bay to Vesuvius. Pool and pool deck clean and attractive. Liked being slightly out of town as it was peaceful! Shuttle bus a welcome perk. Extensive buffet breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

Would recommend to family and friends and would stay here again if I return to Sorrento.

Room Tip: If you stay in the annexe don't get a ground floor room as inconsiderate guests coming home late...

The Grand Hotel Aminta lived up to expectations. The staff (especially Rosella on reception) were extremely friendly and helpful, even after a nightmare journey of delayed flights, unexpected train journeys and lost luggage. The Restaurant staff and the breakfasts were excellent, we did not try dinner as the restaurant prefer men to wear long trousers and mine were somewhere lost in transit!
The hotel is situated a little way out of Sorrento up a steep hill. A free shuttle bus takes you into town every hour, or you can walk the scenic route if you're feeling in need of a fitness challenge!
The pool and bar with stunning views over the bay of Naples make this a special place for a holiday to remember.

We stayed for two weeks – half board. We selected the Grand Hotel Aminta in Sorrento as a base for trips to Ischia, Pozzuoli, Napoli, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Paestum, Salerno, Ravello, Amalfi, Capri and Sorrento.
The Hotel has an excellent location on a hillside overlooking Sorrento with fantastic views across the Sorrento Peninsula and Bay of Naples, with Vesuvius dominating the northern skyline.
There are glorious views and colours from dawn – with the sun rising over the peninsula - to sunset with beautiful sunsets over Ischia to the west.
All of the hotel staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, with a good sense of humour.
The hotel has excellent cuisine, with a mix of Italian and international food, well prepared and presented. Dining is inside the pleasant Dining Room and occasionally on the Terrace in the evening with glorious views to Sorrento, the Bay and Vesuvius.
The Hotel grounds have a quiet and relaxing atmosphere – with good pools and poolside facilities. It was very sociable watching the World Cup and Wimbledon on the large poolside bar television.
Being situated up the hill from the town centre allows you to get some quiet relief from busy and lively Sorrento. The hotel has its own shuttle bus with a regular schedule and friendly safe drivers.
A pleasant alternative is an easy walk down an old footpath and roadway – Via Capodimonte – which passes through fields with lemon trees, with lovely views beyond. It’s peaceful and quiet – apart from the occasional scooter flying past. It meets Via Capo, the main road into town, across from the Nube Argento Campsite. Best to do the walk down first so you get your bearings for the return. The walk up the hill keeps you fit…
A good mix of clients including visitors from all over the world makes for good socialising, if that’s your preference, but there are plenty places to chill out on your own.
There were some families, but mainly couples.
The bedrooms are very pleasant, comfortable, with good facilities and well-kept by the staff.
We had a lovely bedroom with a sea view balcony on the third floor overlooking the pool with beautiful views – see description above – and sunshine from dawn till mid-day.
We recommend it.
Perfect.

We had a lovely week at The Grand Hotel Aminta! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the facilities were better than I had expected. We opted for a room overlooking the garden with a queen-size bed and it was great. We were on the ground floor with great views of Sorrento. The highlights were the quality of food in the restaurant (we ate there 3 nights out of the 7) and the beautiful views by the pool.

This hotel is really delightful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Super breakfast with lots of fresh bakery products, cooked breakfast items and cold meats and cheese etc.
Nice public rooms but the rooms although spotless are a little tired but adequate otherwise we would give it 5 stars.
It has wonderful views over the Bay of Naples. If you want a view then do NOT reserve a garden room.
The hotel is about 2-3 kms outside of Sorrento. There is a footpath down opposite the hotel but it does not go into Sorrento Centre so if its hot its best left alone. There is a very adequate Courtesy Coach every hour there and back. If you catch the last coach back at 11.30 pm get to the stop early as sometimes its full and you have to wait for a second trip.
Thoroughly recommended and terrific value. If you are brave hire a car from the airport and use it. Its cheaper and worth it. Make sure you fill up the car on return before you get on the motorway. Petrol stations are non existent.
There is a museum in Sorrento but is it awful. Load of rubbish.

Room Tip: No view with the garden rooms and not all rooms have a balcony.
