“Tiamo Grand Hotel Aminta!”

This hotel was by far the best hotel ive stayed at,. I couldnt say one bad word about it! The staff are the friendlist i have come across at a hotel, they will do anything to help, or just if you want a chat! The views from the Aminta are beautiful, the food is amazing, the themed nights are fun! :) Everything about this hotel is great! I would recommend this hotel to everyone i know, but i think i already have :)

just spent 2 weeks in the Aminta and a bit of a dissapointment overall . the pool area is far too small for the size of the hotel and its ridiculous that you are expected to pay 4 euros per sun lounger a day to be crammed in like sardines . The whole place lacks a general manager to oversee all the minor faults. On a positive note the rooms are spotless and the evening meals are excellent , breakfast is just average and very repetitive . There is also constant road / traffic noise during the day which does become tiresome after 2 weeks. If you do decide to use this as a base get the train along to piano de sorrento ( 1.70 return and 5 minute journey) where you will find good wine for under 4.00 euros and beautiful cakes for 90 cents as opposed to 16.00 euro and 4 euro in Sorrento itself . Italy is a wonderful country but Sorrento seems totally geared up to ripping off tourists with over- inflated prices for everything.

Although this hotel is out of the centre of Sorrento, I thought it was the perfect location, as it was away from the hustle & bustle of the town, and had the most amazing views across the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvious. When we first arrived, the pool area looked very small, but once we went down there, it was nice and relaxing, and there is a nice bar area and terrace next to it. Make sure to reserve a sun bed as it can get busy (you also have to pay for the sun beds). The food at dinner was a little disappointing (and very expensive) so we ate out in Sorrento every night and got the shuttle bus back to the hotel (the last one leaves at 11.15pm). You can walk into Sorrento in 15 mins, although it is a very steep hill to walk back, although my husband and I did do this quite a few times! There are loads of nice restaurants in Sorrento (Il Buco (expensive though), Donna Sofia (complimentary taxi back to the hotel), La Tonnarello (amazing views)). The rooms are quite basic, but we had the best view from our balcony, and we were really comfortable, and would definitely stay again. Definitely try to visit Ravello on the Amalfi Coast when you're there!

Staff could not have done more to make our holiday really enjoyable. Really clean and well maintained but with the right balance of friendly service.

Food was great and evening meal was euro30 pp - a bit more expensive than eating out but not extravagent.

The hotel is about a mile or so up a steep hill from Sorrento and whilst we walked down it would have been quite a challenge coming back up. But, there is a free courtesy bus running reasonably regularly throughout the day and evening.

It is worth making sure you book a room with a sea view and balcony - and if you do you get sun up to midday and a fantastic view of the Bay of Naples.

The only thing which stopped it being perfect was that there is a main road running outside which can be noisy, but if you can switch off from this we would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel with fantastic views, great bar area overlooking the bay of Naples, rooms with great views, friendly staff and good restaurant. For the money you won't get better than this. It;'s a bit of an unhill walk to the hotel from town but only takes about 25 mins (or there is a regular courtesy bus if you prefer.) I'd go back in a heartbeat! Oh and great Mojitos.
