shame about the noises in and about the bedrooms. very thin walls. Slamming of doors and bathroom noises!!!.Such a great location within Sorrento and staff very helpful.just returned may 16th weather and Sorrento was beautiful but would choose another hotel next time unless action was taken to improve noise levels and update bathrooms

We spent 2 weeks at Conca Park and although the weather could have been better the hotel was fab. We aren't ones for sitting on balconies so didnt book one - we stayed on the top floor and had fabulous views over the Sorrento rooftops, the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. We loved the food in the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. Mariano and Luigi in the bar were very friendly too and soon learned our 'Usual' which was very nice and even produced a delightful impromptu Birthday Cake and candle when my husband told them it was my birthday. Mariano makes the best Mojitos in Sorrento - and I tried quite a few! We usually go to Greece where everyone is so friendly and had never been to Italy before so didn't know quite what to expect - we never met an Italian who was anything less than lovely. We did some lovely trips - Capri was fabulous, Vesuvius breathtaking - literally!! but so worth it, Pompeii fascinating. I am the women of many mens dreams - I hate shoes and handbags but came home with 4 new pairs of sandals and 2 new handbags so gentlemen beware! I'm sure we will return to Sorrento one day and will certainly book in to the Conca Park.

Room Tip: we had room 615 top floor no balcony but beautiful view

Just returned from a week in Sorrento-Conca Park is a great hotel- the only fault was that in the entire time we were there the buggy to take us up the tunnel was not offered (& after 4hrs walking around Pompeii-you needed it!!!!) We had a sea view room & were not disappointed-fantastic view of Mount Vesuvius!! Friendly, efficient staff. Very clean, good food with lots of choice (we were disappointed one night though as they ran out of the main course before we arrived at 8pm-bearing in mind the resturant is open until 9:45pm!) The welcome meeting was different to any other but a fab idea that should be used more often.
The hotel is ideally situated for getting out & about... We used the local train to visit Pompeii & Herculaneum (2 euros 20 single ticket each) so do not be put off by the reps who may tell you that the public transport is unreliable.
The only blemish on an otherwise fantastic hoilday was the walk on arrival- from the airport terminal to the coach park. There was lots of frayed tempers & if you struggle walking, this is a difficult trek!

Conca Park Hotel Sorrento

We stayed at the Conca Park Hotel, Sorrento 9th to 19th May 2014, booked through Thompson’s. On our previous visit to Sorrento four years ago we stayed at the excellent Grand Aminta, the trouble with this Hotel is that you either had to spend ages waiting for the infrequent courtesy bus or face a hard twenty minute up hill walk back to the Hotel, walking downhill to the town was okay. This time we chose The Conca Park for its excellent location away from the noisy main street at the back of the town set against a steep rock face, but easy walk to the town and station. The Hotel has excellent terraces/ gardens and pools with plenty of seating. Inside there is a large lounge with bar and downstairs café serving drinks and snacks, incidentally the drinks were reasonable priced and similar to those in the cafes in town, a medium beer cost 4€ and a glass of wine 5€. Breakfast and evening meal (20€ to those not on half board) was a buffet. The consensus view of the other guests we spoke to and our selves was that the food was good to excellent and the Waiters and Chefs were friendly and efficient. The Hotel was well run, well kept and there was a good standard of overall cleanliness. The reception staff all had good understanding of English and they were very friendly and helpful with local information, which was very useful as the Thompson Reps made infrequent appearance and only seemed interested in selling trips! One trip we particularly wanted to go on was to the island of Ischia; Carl (Thompson’s rep) gave us the wrong pick up time, so we missed the trip. We were only offered a refund and a bottle of wine. Incidentally Thompson’s new 24/7-resort help line is now based in England. You text them at extra charge of 50p to normal text charge and they are supposed to phone you back, it didn’t work, we had to get the Hotel to phone.

The big disappointment was our room; we had booked a room with sea-view and air-conditioning. Our room was on the top sixth floor and was like an attic room with slopping ceiling, due to being in the roof on warm days the room was very warm. We complained that Air-Conditioning was not working; we were surprised to learn that it was not turned on until the middle of June, so any prolonged hot period would make the room extremely unpleasant. We were given a fan, which helped, and we kept the window open most of the time and the fan on. Worse was the bathroom which was badly in need of refurbishment, it had a very small shower cubicle with only an overhead shower head, so unless you wanted to get totally drenched it was very difficult to wash away the soapy bits! It would have been tolerable with a hand held shower spray unit. The actual room had good storage and a comfortable bed. There was also a free to use security safe. This is a four star Hotel; our room is what you might expect in a cheap two star Hotel. Speaking to other guests who had chosen rooms with a balcony, on the lower floors, they were much more spacious with a higher ceiling and decent shower/bathroom and they were happy with the standard of the room. Incidentally four years ago both on arrival and departure from Naples Airport it had been utter chaos. This time it had greatly improved and worked very efficiently both ways, also the food facilities and duty free prices were very competitively priced (1L bottle J.B. Whisky 14€). Our flight out was with Thompson’s Airline from Gatwick, the print your boarding pass and luggage drop worked very well. However the Thompson web-site would not let you print the return ticket as it was with Norwegian Air, there was no explanation on the Web-site that this was not possible, I like several over guests, spent ages wrestling with the problem. The flight back on Norwegian Air was much better on a brand new Boeing 737-800. Overall I would judge the Hotel an excellent choice if you choose a room on a lower floor with balcony, but be aware that the rooms on the sixth floor are sub-standard and not recommended, hence my low rating for value and room.

Room Tip: Choose a room on lower floors with a view, avoid sub-standard rooms on sixth floor

Just returned from a week at the Conca Park in Sorrento and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, will definately be going back to this hotel the next time we go back. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The food was superb with a large choice for both breakfast and evening meal which isnt always the case in some hotels. We have been to Sorrento a number of times and this was one of the most enjoyable holidays we have had.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool or sea view room.

Just back from this hotel. I was a bit worried about the tunnel what to expect but it was lovely, tiled and very light. Steep to walk up but there is a golf car where you can get a lift up. Room was very clean. It had a fridge in and a safe. No charges made for either. We had a room facing the pool on the first floor, to be honest a higher floor would have been better. Could get noisy on a night in the busy season. Shower is a bit small ( and I'm not a big person). Lighting was good. Restaurant food was a good choice, some self service but chefs served you with soup/main meal & deserts. They give you whatever you want, and as much as you want. All staff were friendly. Be careful the room you book as the mountain rooms 'view' looked good, but we noticed some rooms from the balcony you could touch the mountain, it was that close. Pool area seemed to be locked until about 9:15am, saves people saving chairs etc. over all this hotel is worth staying and is located within a few mins walk to town.
We booked through Thomsons and the reps were very good & helpful. There's a long walk from airport to coach, if you bad at walking. We sorted our own trips. £35 boat to Capri return, also train to Pompeii £2.20 each way. Train station sign posted on Main Street. There is a lift to harbour, we couldn't find it so walked to harbour and got lift back. Do not get train to Naples town, it's not a good place to go...Big mistake! Enjoy your stay

Came back from a 10 night stay at this Hotel. It was a lovely Hotel with great location to the centre of the town, buses and trains. The staff were very friendly and the food was terrific. Really looked forward to breakfast and dinner. We had the garden view with a balcony which was great. The only problem was that it was very hot at night as the air con only started in June. At times the room was not cleaned properly, I could still see the hairs on the floor and the bath tub seem to look dirty. It felt as though the cleaner was in a rush to get the job done. Apart from this I could not fault the Hotel. We had a manicure and pedicure done at the Hotel which was very reasonable. I would certainly stay at the Hotel again.
