“A good holiday hotel in a good location.”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Conca Park is a modern efficiently run hotel where the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our rooms was spacious and simply furnished with generous storage space and a firm comfortable bed .The modern bathroom included a shower with controls that were easy to regulate to the exact requirements for pressure and temperature with out any sudden unexpected fluctuations. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and we'll maintained.

The breakfasts included a good selection of cereals, fruit, bread and pastries as well as eggs to order. The only reservation about the breakfast was the provision of coffee from a machine, in Italy this was disappointing. The dinners provided a good choice of hot and cold dishes served from a buffet where there could be some queuing, but never for mor than a few minutes. The chefs, and all staff in the dining room were always pleasant and courteous when serving us.

The hotel is conveniently situated to reach the centre of town, although we soon found it was easier and more pleasant to use the old access from near the pool rather than the tunnel unless going to the station. The hotel has excellent free wi-fi, although strangely this was not mentioned on Thompson's web site.

We stayed at the conca park for a week travelling with thompsons. I am quite a fussy person to please and I can honestly say this hotel was outstanding. Everywhere is spotless and belive me I checked. There is not a single spot in the place that is neglected. Check in was good and you enter the hotel via a tunnel. If you are too tired to walk up one of the staff will take you up in a golf buggy. The staff are well turned out and very helpful at all times. One night we were sitting in the cocktail garden and there was a few spots of rain. The barman came out and unwound the canopies to make sure we didnt get wet. The food is good quality with plenty of choice. There is a chef on a morning making fried eggs and omelettes on request as well as a continental option. Lots of cereal choice and fresh fruit are available too. Dinner was buffet choice with a soup option, plenty of fresh salads, pastas and meats. Then the hot counter always had a roast meat, fish and plenty of veg. If you like fish you will be in heaven. Puddings were large gateauxs, profiterols, ice cream, fresh fruit and cheese with crackers. All available in as much as you wanted to eat. The pool area has deck chairs and sun loungers and is very relaxing. The pool is not heated and the water was chilly on a morning. Our room was all white with a nautical theme but they are in the process of upgrading them all. The hotel is also the first in sorrento to have a zero carbon footprint and there are water fountains situated around the hotel to fill waterbottles up instead of buying water all the time. They also have recycling stations for paper and plastics on each floor. Because they dont put the air conditioning on until june (carbon footprint reason again) the room was a little hot but a fan was provided on request. I have no problem recommending this hotel and the staff made us feel very welcome and very special for the whole of our stay.

Room Tip: Ask tor a higher floor room with a sea view. The 5th floor is the showcase floor.

Very clean hotel with very smart, attentive staff who find nothing too much bother. Rooms ok although the view at the rear is straight onto the mountain approx 10 yards away.the pool isn't heated but is clean & has a lifeguard on duty & also has a snack/ drinks bar next to it with staff that look after you very well. Towel hire is available for 3 Euros per towel for the duration of your stay. Food is what you would expect for a holiday hotel, continental or cooked breakfast with tea/coffee & fruit juices on tap also fresh fruit, cream, yoghurt, loads of bread & toast all via buffet. Evening meals have 5/6 selections every evening & never the same thing on twice. Plenty of salad as well. Something for everyone. You don't have to enter or exit the hotel via the tunnel, there is a walkway down to the centre via a gate at the poolside but if you do want to go via the tunnel, there is a buggy available at the reception 24/7. All in all very good & better than a lot I've been in.

the hotel was smart and clean. the swimming pool was not heated. and we were disappointed to find no tea making facilities in the room. no English tv programs so when you wanted a rest for an hour nothing to watch except CNN news.not a very quite hotel you could hear people in the corridor and next rooms.Evening meal was a mismatch of food. Queue for soup same queue as main meal .sample meal ; salmon roast potato with gravy and mushrooms no greens unless you had salad.this was served by cooks not ourselves .

Room Tip: i think odd numbers face the back of hotel.

We arrived at the Conca Park hotel On May 12th our check in was quick efficient and friendly, our cases were brought to our rooms by a very pleasant porter, and we were very impressed with our room spacious, spotlessly clean, and a lovely view overlooking the garden and mountains, we were more than happy. We went half board and we were a bit concerned whether we would find something on the menu to suit us as i am embarrassed to say that we are not ones for trying different things, I must say every night we found something that we liked, there was quite a choice The restaurant staff were hard working ,polite and friendly. It was my husbands 65th birthday while we were there and my brother and sister-in-laws anniversary they made us a beautiful cake which we all thoroughly enjoyed. I must mention the two barmen Mariano and Rich who really made my husbands holiday as he enjoyed many a laugh and joke with them they were lovely. The hotel is perfectly situated for a walk into Sorrento about 10 mins to center, Sorrento is beautiful. Public transport is an experience you must try!! Amalfi Coast absolutely breathtaking, and nerve racking at times. The holiday was fantastic and the hotel perfect.and we would be more than happy to stay here again.. ..,

Room Tip: We found our room 327 to be quiet and lovely views.

5 ladies of varying ages spent a lovely week at Conca Park 9th May. This was mainly to celebrate my 50th Birthday but holiday for all too. Sorrento is beautiful , busier than I thought it would be but some parts were enchanting. The tiny cobbled streets with lemon cello shops and lovely restaurants were lovely. You must find The Foreigners Club - 10/10 brilliant, food and drinks beautiful, AMAZING view and very friendly. It is near the town hall.
Conca Park was on the whole very good. But ......on arrival we were given 2 rooms overlooking the mountain, not only overlooking the mountain but touchable !! literally. We did not arrive until 11pm ish so we could see it was very dark outside and obviously the mountain so we asked if the next day we could move if possible. Morning dawned and on the balcony it was still dark, if you went right by the mountain and craned your neck you could see the sky ...just. This was room 110 I think . But we did get the option to move, this was for both of our rooms who were on 1st and 2nd floor mountain side. We were offered a pool view and garden view which were 100 times better but for €20 a night more each room ! we decided to go for it and said we would complain to Thomson about the room description (this has since been changed in brochure I believe) .We are waiting to hear back from Thomson.
We came across many people who had moved due to this so called mountain view and they had all paid an extra supplement !! Good revenue for the hotel .The room for 3 was the garden room 244, we found it to have 2 bathrooms but the one shower was only hot when it felt like it ! the other bathroom had leaky toilet and the phone also worked when it felt like it.
None of these complaints were addressed whilst we were there after many requests, but we did ask if we could have compensation for the poor room description and the faults in the new room. We were told that we would be only charged €10 extra for the 3 bed room which was a result.
On the whole I thought the rooms were ok not luxurious but just ok. Yes bathrooms tired.
The tunnel I would imagine could be a nightmare for some people, it is long and cold and steep but most times the buggy was there for us. It is quirky but if you have trouble walking it could be a real pain.
On the good side, the food was brilliant. Lots of choice and the waiters very attentive. VERY ATTENTIVE !! I had forgot what Italian men were like !! Hello Mario and Franco.
Drinks not too expensive either. Breakfast and Dinner had something for everyone and when we arrived late they kept the restaurant open until we had had our meal which did impress us.
There was no indoor pool as we thought there would be ?? another mistake in brochure ??
The outside pool is VERY COLD, some of us ventured in but everyone said it was freezing.
We did all our trips through Thomson and wasted a fortune ,DO THEM ALL YOURSELVES.
Capri is lovely but expect it to be very very crowded. The chair lift to Anna Capri is definitely worth the €11, the view is awesome. The boat trip round the island was very good too, saw Capri from a different aspect.
Pompeii was just amazing and the highlight of the holiday for me, fantastic tour guide with Thomson but there were many guides outside the site offering their services in all languages - think it was €20. This would also be an unsuitable trip for people who had trouble walking - mainly cobbled and not even.
Amalfi coast was superb, Positano a dream .We hired a driver for the day €70 each (De Martino Travel advised from Reception - very good ) and he stopped whenever we wanted him to and gave us all the info. But don't bother with the Blue Grotto - waste of €5 and time !!
I have never met such lovely friendly holiday makers on a holiday before ! All the people in our hotel were wonderful - all full of tips that they had come across and advise for us. Carl the Thomson rep was not very helpful really - sorry Carl. He gave us all wrong information about the trips we made and we wished we had organised our own - we could have bought many more Prosecco cocktails !!
Hello to Jane, Jayne and Sarah - sorry if I got your name wrong but it was lovely to meet you all !Happy Wedding Day for September.
I will go back to Sorrento one day but maybe a different hotel, location of Conca Park is very good though.

Room Tip: choose a pool view room because you will see right across the mountains instead of touching them...

13 of us arrived at the Conca Park 16th May. We were a bit worried about the tunnel as some of the party are in their 70's however the buggy as almost always readily available. Our cases were carried up for us and our check was swift and friendly.

We were warned before our visit by Thomsons that our "mountain view" was really a "cliff touch" and being always a trip advisor fanatic i knew almost knew what to expect. Room 101 which thankfully wasn't mine was basically a cliff touch balcony and was very claustrophobic. My room 108 was a lot better with plants on both sides and a few feet further from the cliff. However its outside space and thats all that matters. Our room was for three persons. It was huge with large king and a pull out bed settee. All very comfy and clean.

Loads of hanging space / drawers, Full length mirror, good lighting, flat screen tv with cnn and bbc news and music channels. Just the job for the 5 minutes a day you spend watching the tv. Bathroom adequate with clean towels every day however the shower cubicle was tiny with not much space for all the girly toiletries.

Free fridge and free safe however you do pay 1euro 50 each per day tourist tax which evens itself out as you rarely get a free fridge and safe. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the pool area hill ( rather than at the bottom of the tunnel ) which sells Prosecco for 4 euro 69 a bottle. Fridge full , job done, fantastic.

All your drinks at the hotel and any other things you pay for are all charged to the room. You can pay your bill any time throughout the holiday however they do not take money in the bars/dining room/cafe...

The hotel is immaculate, pool area spacious and loads of beds. The pool is a bit chilly but once you are in is so refreshing. The grounds are gorgeous with loads of flowers and fruit trees, plenty of shade if you want it as there are no umbrellas. The beds have head shades attached. The waiting staff are always at hand if you require a drink while at the pool.

The food here is amazing and top marks to the chef who kindly came out to see us when asked. There was a menu on the table every night as the food laid out does not have signs on it. The dining room is clean and bright with fab views of Sorrento however the lay out of the food could be a bit better. You have to squeeze between the persons queuing up for their hot food to get your cold salads. The salads are buffet but you are served with your hot food. The servers however give you exactly as much or as little as you like. The desserts are also served but the young man serving is always keen to give you loads of food. I have attached pics of the menus. There were loads of different salads a fish dish , meat dish , pasta dish and fresh veg very night so always something to choose from , all cooked to perfection accompanied with fantastic oils, vinegars and mayonnaises. Breakfast was great if you enjoy continental. Ok if you prefer cooked. The chef was a bit slow when doing the eggs and the bacon wasn't the best but the breads cheeses and salamis were fantastic. Thanks to Franco and his team for great service. Plates were always swiftly taken away.

We stayed here a week and the weather though mostly good had its bad points. You definitely need a cardigan at night. We had two rainy days which were cool but the other days were red hot, fantastic for lying around the pool. The circle above the pool gets the sun all day from start to finish... Heaven. Be prepared for the town to be very busy. The marina always has cruise ships in and goodness knows what it must be like in peak season. This has been the busiest resort we have been to and we always go away at this time of year

Would definitely return to this hotel however so many other places to go in the meantime.

Room Tip: Dont choose 101.... You will definitely be touching the cliff
