Very nice 4star hotel, situated within easy access to the Main Street in Sorrento, friendly staff, excellent food buffet style. Lovely pool area with pleasant poolside eating area.A great spot to explore from .Sorrento itself is beautiful .A long walk down to the marina grande is a must,it is a climb back up but worth it. It is true Italian, peaceful and busy at the same time.

Room Tip: High level overlooking pool

Stayed at the Conca Park hotel from 15th August till the 29th. Lovely hotel, we were a party of eight , five adults three children aged 11, 12 and 15.The hotel is only a five minute walk to all the shops and restaurants of Sorrento town. Our room overlooked the pool area and court yard, it also had fridge and safe at no extra cost. The food at this hotel is exhalent, for dinner we had on the menu ( tonno e fagioli , or in English Tuna fish and bean salad ) cuttlefish and walnut ,tomato and mozzarella salad, cream of chicken, asparagus soup, crepes with cheese and eggs, pasta Bolognese sauce, sea-bream, leg of lamb, calves liver, pork escalope with mushrooms, aubergine casserole. baked potatoes broccoli. plus a salad buffet .and dessert. That is just one example of one evening menu. The pool area has sun beds and also shadey areas out of the sun all free not like on the beach that cost 9ur for one bed per day.Only one down point to the hotel is the prices in the bar. Other then that we all had a great time at this hotel and would have no hesitation in going back.

Room Tip: over look pool area or garden are the best rooms

I am not one to complain much but we had a terrible experience which doesn't seem to align with the majority of the reviews here (and we heard a couple when they were checking out say what a good stay they had when we were checking in). Perhaps it was just our room but it was closer to a 2 star than a 4. We were in Europe for a month and this was by far the worst experience at any hotel. The lobby was nice and staff was fairly helpful (though we weren't given the wifi password when we checked in and when i called the desk they wouldn't give it over the phone even though it was an easy one to give verbally and she made me return to the check in desk).

I am not sure if we just had bad luck with our room but we found it dirty and in very poor condition. I have never been one to take photos but did in this case as I think it is important that people see for themselves. There were quite a few issues, but as you will see the cups were very dirty and the shower head was so calcified that it was not enough to rinse shampoo or soap off of you. Speaking of soap there wasn't any other than at the sink in the bathroom which was a pump attached to the wall - you will need to bring your own to have any for the shower. Size of the shower was also very small (as you will see in the photo).

Additionally the pool was nice, however management needs to do something about how many chairs are reserved. I also can't believe they charge three euros a day to use a towel. This is likely why people leave them on chairs all day while they are not at the pool any longer. Perhaps some returned however we were there late afternoon and I don't anticipate most returned even though people were having to sit on the concrete given all the chairs were 'reserved'. We also had about 20-30 ants in the bathroom the morning we were leaving even though we were on the top floor. They seemed to be coming out of the drain in the centre of the bathroom floor. There are no safes in the room.

The Conca Park is so well situated for everything. A 7 or 8 minute walk to Tasso Square, (Sorrento's hub), which takes you along a fantastic road with great shops, pubs and restaurants as well as historical sites. A 10+ minute walk along the same route will take you to the railway station, or if you break off earlier, to the marina area. (It's a long way down from the main street to the marina, but there is a lift - the stairs are not obligatory). The hotel oocation is ideal if you want to do your own exploring outside organised package holiday trips. Catch the (really cheap) train called the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii, Herculaneum (just over 2 Euros each way) or Naples (I think it was just over 7 euros return, but amazingly cheap). It can be a bit packed on the train, but on holiday, you want to see how life really is, don't you? As an alternative, take the local bus from just outside the railway station along the Amalfi coast to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello for 6 Euros 80 for the 24 hour ticket - unbelievable value but take note, seriously packed buses, if you can cope with that. Even short trips to places like Massa Lubrense on the local bus can be a fantastic day out for very little cost. It's all about whether you are happy to do as the locals do in crammed buses and trains, or go for the expensive electronically temperature controlled luxury and expensive buses through the holiday companies. (If you take the local bus, tickets can be bought in tobacconists or from the office at the railway station, but make sure you get your ticket stamped in the machine on the bus when you get on). Location of the hotel is brilliant for seeing the really immediate and local areas.
How about the hotel itself? 4 star and worthy of it. Clean towels each day and beds changed every 3(?) days. Food is excellent - buffet style - and offers the usual 4 course Italian meal every night - (looked like a 7 day menu change) and huge choice at breakfast time. (Having just returned today, I am terrified about standing on the scales tomorrow - but the food was so good, I couldn't help it).
The staff in the hotel are excellent. They are really friendly and so accommodating. After a couple of nights into the holiday, Franco (in the dining area), had worked out that we liked a particular table and had it set for us every night till the end of the holiday, which makes you feel that you are somebody special in what is a bigg(ish) hotel. Antonio, (who wants to be a lawyer), and who welcomes you into the dining area, together with Marios (who I think is the boss in there) are also so friendly, but I should not really select a few staff members - they are all lovely and that includes reception staff, cleaners, waiters (and one lovely waitress), porters, bar staff . . . . too.
The pool area is great and it is really good to see that it does not open till 8.30, so nobody can claim their sunbed at 5 am and then fail to appear all day - which can be so annoying! Space is at a premium around one side of he pool, so only (comfortable) deck chairs are available there - everything is free, but towels can be hired. Choose your sunbathing position carefully if you want sun all day. The sun disappears behind the hotel and the cliffs for a part of the day.
Anything negative? Well yes. By virtue of the fact that Sorrento is surrounded by cliffs, roughly 50% of the balconies look out on to a cliff face, (called mountainside rooms in the brochure) - unavoidable. However, if you don't have a pool view, (like us), you could also be really unlucky (like us) and get a tiny balcony, due to your room looking out on to a fire escape e.g. room 206. Not only is the balcony tiny, it is shaded all the time too. Somebody has to get these rooms ending 06 and of course, it had to be us. Don't get me wrong, it didn't spoil the holiday at all, but keep this in mind when booking a room. Avoid 06 rooms
Let's not forget the tunnel. To access the reception, (from one side of the hotel), you have to walk up an inclined tunnel (500m?). Initially weird, but quite a centre-piece really. Beautifully tiled and housing display windows, this is quite a feature, from the main street and which burrows beneath citrus groves. If you don't want to walk along the well lit and interesting tunnel, an electric buggy will take you along the 500m.
The hotel offers entertainment in an outside courtyard, but I cannot comment knowledgeably, since we chose to spend most of our evenings outside the hotel - that's just what we do everywhere we go and no comment on the quality of the entertainment provided.
There are loads of places to sit in the hotel for a drink, such as the cocktail garden, Mediterranean room and poolside bar.
Completely loved it and a huge thanks to all the staff who made our holiday such an excellent one.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms ending in 06 = tiny balconies looking on to a cliff Ask for a non "mountainside vi...

The hotel and gardens were lovely. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room on the 5th floor with a balcony and sea view was perfect.
Sorrento was lovely, walking down the main piazza at night people watching then going shopping down the "drains".
We had a great holiday, we would definitely recommend Sorrento and the hotel.

Room Tip: 5th floor room with balcony with a sea view is perfect

This hotel has fantastic and friendly staff, this includes the porters, reception, lifeguard, waiting, chefs, housekeepers and maintenance guys. They will go out of their way to making sure the stay is fantastic.
The location is brilliant and close to Sorrento town and all it's amenities - but being up the hill a bit so you can't hear the hustle and bustle. If you don't mind walking up and down slopes, it's great.
Any problem can be sorted by them. I had a leak in my AC unit and they were up straight away and fixed it.
Food is wonderful - breakfast and dinner have everything you need for great food. The poolside bar is also nice and the service is fantastic.

A lot of people on here appear to be complaining about the pool temperature being too cold - I however feel that it was fine - especially as the temperature outside is 35-40. It is required for a much needed cool down.
All in all, it was a great stay!

Stayed as part of a family holiday with Thompson at the peak of summer.
