Casa Astarita Bed and Breakfast

From when we entered the internal courtyard we were seduced by the quirky Italian feel of this place. The Astarita is upstairs, and we had a double room looking out over the central shopping street. The room was spacious, spotless, and the ensuite shower room was recently decorated and excellent. We were not troubled with noise if we closed the double windows and shutters to the little balcony, but it is true that Sorrento is a lively place, and you did need to close everything to achieve quiet. The breakfast was pleasant, but quite basic some days - it seemed to depend who was on duty as to what you got. One day there would be croissants and scrambled egg, the next just bread rolls. There was always fruit juice, tea, coffee, fresh bread, cheese, jam, yogurts, cereal and something like an apple or a chocolate tart, so plenty to eat, just not always a cooked breakfast.
One word of warning, though, is that the parking in Sorrento is problematic (and expensive).

Room Tip: I would recommend a room at the front with a balcony (the balcony is only big enough to stand on) so...

Casa Astarita is an easy walk from the train station and a great location for touring Sorrento. The room we had was perfect for three with a view of the street and any noise from street was easily quieted by closing the windows. Alfonso helped us find and booked a boat tour of the Amalfi Coast which was fabulous and then went above and beyond when a booking error I made was discovered. We truly enjoyed our fabulous stay.

We had a 3 bed apartment in this lovely B&B, spacious, clean and wonderful! Would highly recommend. Good value for money, Fantastic location in the heart of Sorrento . Be prepared to carry bags up multiple flights of stairs!
We were worried about the street party outside on the Saturday night but there was no noise in the room!
The staff helped us to book a day trip to the isle of capri which was great they picked us up from the B&B and returned us at the end.
The communal table for breakfast was lovely and there was plenty of fresh food each day. would return!

There is something a bit magical about coming into an interior courtyard and staircase to get to Casa Astarita. You almost feel like it might once had been someone's home. We had a lovely room on the front. While there is noise outside the double pane windows block it quite well when closed. I loved the blue and white tile floor!
The staff was very welcoming and was quick to provide a bottomless cup of cappuccino in the morning. The breakfast was particularly good and included a wide variety of choices and tastes. The proprietor was very warm and helpful. Would stay again if we find ourselves in Sorrento.

"Look carefully" for the brown door and enter for theB&B
Up a flight of stairs, you will find a charming and hospitable
place to stay. We had two rooms, which were charmingly tiled,
colorful and comfortable! A communal table is available for
plentiful and abundant breakfasts. Everyone was lovely .
Simple and easy and a fabulous location!!!

We had a room at the back and the music and crowd yelling from the outside dance at the English Inn from 11 pm to at least 1 am was too loud to sleep through. Although the room was nice and the staff were friendly, I would never consider staying there again.

This is a nice charming place in Sorrento with very friendly owners. However, it is located next door to a very loud bar that plays extremely loud music until very late at night. I was supposed to stay several days, but I checked out after one night and left. Some reviewers suggest getting a room at the back to avoid the street noise but I am not convinced this will work. I stayed in a large room that was sort of connected to an apartment with a living room and kitchen that went towards the back of the building. Around 2 am, I decided to try and sleep on the couch in the living room, far away from the street. I couldn't hear the street noise but the music and crowd noise in the bar seemed even louder. Frankly, despite the charm of this property, it's location really makes it unacceptable as a place to stay. Unless the bar next door goes out of business, I can't see what would save this place.
