“Excellent charming villa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2011

I traveled with my husband and parents to Sorrento. After a very stressful drive (!) from Pompeii to Sorrento, our arrival at the villa was a huge oasis of WELCOME. Marco greeted us at the end of the drive and was very friendly. He gave us a refreshing glass of lemonade to drink whilst we checked-in. We were given a room just down the road from the main building. It had fantastic views and was very spacious. They also help organize dinner (including transport). We ate by the harbor and had a fantastic dining experience. Breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade cakes and spreads. The owner was at breakfast and was also lovely. On the day of our departure we were allowed to leave our car in the car park whilst we continued on site seeing. I can not recommend Marco and this villa highly enough! We enjoyed our stay so much that we want to return again hopefully soon.

We had a wonderful week in Villa Oriana last April. The kindness of the staff (and Elio in particular!), the home-made cakes at breakfast, the view (and sunset every night!) over Capri and the Vesuvio, everything was just perfect. Only weak point, you could hear very well what's happening in the other rooms but it's definitely not a reason for not visiting this lovely family!

Beautiful setting in the hills among fruit and olive trees overlooking the Bay; small, private with fewer than ten rooms; breakfasts to die for, everything prepared that morning or gathered from the gardens; impeccably cared for and clean; most amicable family and staff. Better to walk down the hill to catch buses into Sorrento or make the 20 minute walk to the center.

My dad and I stayed here for two nights and it was perfect! Elio and Maria are amazing hosts - lemonade (from all the lemon trees on the property) and cake upon arrival, dinner reservations and transport to some restaurants free of charge, and gorgeous rooms with balconies and views of the water. Thanks, Elio and Maria! We'll be back with more family members soon.

The grounds of the property are stunning. Full of lemon, orange and olive trees. The view of the bay is breathtaking. There is free wifi. Having breakfast on an outdoor patio is the best way to start a day.

Breakfast is going to be your best during your trip! Hands down! I guaranty! Maria makes various cakes every morning from fresh ingredients. She will even give you a lesson on cooking if you like. All recipes are available, upon your request.

We missed dinner that Maria was cooking. If it is anything like breakfast, this will be better than any restaurant you will find in the area!

Staff is very welcoming, friendly. They offer various trips/restaurant suggestions.

The property is about 20-30min walk to main part of Sorrento, and it is on a hill. If you are not a hiker and don't like to walk much, cabs are a bit pricey- about 15 Euro from town. Buses are available, that stop on the bottom of the hill, but you have to walk up a hill for about 5-7 min.

Would come back in a heart beat!

I stayed at Villia Oriana Relais in May for a few nights with my family. It was perfect- I wouldn't stay in any other establishment! The staff at VOR was professional, friendly, and very accomodating. The rooms were bright and clean, the views from the balcony were breathtaking, and the breakfast was delicious! Next time I travel to southern Italy, I will be sure to stay here again. It was also conveniently located to the port for day trips (Amalfi, Capri, Positano, etc). It was a vacation in paradise!!

I spent 5 nights at Villa Oriana. The top 3 best things about this place are: hospitality/service (the staff go above and beyond), the stunning views, and breakfasts.

When we first arrived we were treated to a fresh lemon drink while we waited to check-in. During the time we were at the Villa it was also a special celebration - and they helped arrange for flowers and chocolates to be waiting in my room along with a handwritten note! The staff is extremely helpful and do their best to make you feel at home. They are always available in case you have any questions. And as many other have noted - the breakfasts are fantastic. Fresh cakes, mozzarella, meats, marmalades, honey etc.. And then the owner brings around FRESHLY squeezed orange juice from his trees! The weather was so nice that we were able to sit on the balcony overlooking the Gulf of Napoli. Every breakfast at least one of the staff comes out to say good morning to each table. We were even lucky enough to have one night when Maria made an amazing dinner for the guests.
The only downside is the distance from the main part of town (taxi are expensive and the bus runs not so frequently). Would be great it if the villa could provide a twice daily shuttle to town/back.
