This place is something!!!!! Its a lemon plantation that invites you to relax and enjoy every second.
The best reception ever... with cake a lemon juice. Then a cute room very contemplative...
very good breakfast... nothing like the owners serving you fresh food and orange juice.
A lot of attention from Elio, Carmela, Maria and Pepe.
The location is a little far for walking... but there you have drivers to go to restaurants and all the facilities.
if you have a car is perfect location to go all around Amalfi Cost

Maria and team... sorry for taking so long to write this review...
Miss you!

Great place to stay if you love a wonderful view on the bay of Naples, homemade breakfast with morning baken cakes, cookies, quiches, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious tomatoes .... and a super jacuzzi on the sun roof. Very friendly staff with a personal approach.

We had really been looking forward to staying at this hotel for months as we were planning our trip to Italy. The hotel had gotten a very nice review from one of the local restauranteurs in Los Angeles as to their warm hospitable service and great homemade breakfasts made by Mariana. But I should have been leary because they also noted that 1 day after their stay they were told that the hotel had accidently overbooked and that they would not be able to stay. They were luckily accomodated in the families' private mansion in town.

So after looking forward to staying at this hotel for almost a year, as soon as we arrived after traveling all day from Greece, we were told that they had made a mistake in our reservation and overbooked. Instead they were giving our room to another group requesting a quadruple room. And simultaneously they also told this to another family who had arrived just behind us. They said they were putting us up at a better hotel down the street. Turned out not to be true. We ended up getting an almost windowless room on a roof deck, that looked the pension rooms I got in my college days when I was travelling around Europe. After complaining, the replacement hotel moved us to a slightly better room with a balcony in the main part of the hotel. After even more complaining, finally the Villa Oriana moved us the next day into one of their quadruple studio apartment located on the property immediately behind the hotel. It had a non-funtioning kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower stall that you could barely turn around it. I felt like we were camping instead of being in a lovely 4* hotel that had advertised spacious rooms with big bathrooms overlooking the Bay of Sorrento.

Needless to say I am still very upset about this since our reservation was prepaid. I am sure that if you are lucky enough to end up in the hotel, that the rooms are nice and very comfortable, warm, and inviting. No doubt that the breakfasts are incredible and Mariana is a fantastic cook. But I would never book to stay at this hotel again as I could not be sure that I would actually end up in a room in the hotel. I just don't think this was a one time or infrequent error of reservation since there were 3 of us that this happened to.

My girlfriend and I stayed here last year in April 2010 (sorry for the incorrect date in the posting it did not allow a date beyond August 2010). Never got around to creating a Trip Advisor account to review the hotel so this one is a little late in the coming. We had booked it the same day for one night and had called ahead to let them know that we would be in late and to wait up for us. We arrived at the Villa at 1 am in the morning. Elio was waiting for us. Boy were we glad as apparently the staff goes home after hours. It late at night so we could not see much of the place. Elio put us up at the building next door to the Villa. The room was like a mini apartment, very spacious, clean and comfortable. The next morning was a SHOCK. We woke up to a a flowery terrace outside our room, a lemon grove lined walk way up to the Villa, fantastic view of the water from the breakfast area in the Villa, beautiful gardens and fantastic hosts! It feel quite surreal. In the grounds of the Villa you feel like you have been transported to another world. The breakfast included the price was a combination of home made and store bought (still very yummy) cakes and goodies. Internet was only available in the main villa which was okay with us. Elio offered us a ride into town and pick up. The hotel is up a hill and a brisk 10 minute walk to center town. Great exercise for us who needed it. Would definitely stay here again and recommend others as well.

Nataly T
Buongiorno everyone!
I would like to tell you about my wonderful experience in Villa Oriana.
I am a singer from Latvia working on the first London based solo album. When me and my team decided to shoot the music videos for the summery song "Fever" we immediately throught of some place very chic and beautiful from one side and very hospitable and welcoming from the other. We were in search of the fascinating views and pretty ambience as well of nice people around that would make us feel comfortable while doing such a complicated and stressful project as shooting a music videos. It seemed almost unaccomplishable idea... We dedicated a lot of time for the search of this kind of almost miraculous place and we have finally found it! it actually existed!!!
This place is Villa Oriana!!! Indeed iti is!!!
This is a beautiful Villa from outside and inside, overviewing all the fascinanting landascapes of the Sorrento Bay and what is the most important with the most hospitable and warm hearted family and owners and their helpers that me and my team have ever met in our lifes.
These nice people kindly offered their wonderful villa to be featured in the music videos "Fever" .
Lemon alleys , colorful ortensya garden , spacious verandas and flowery balcons with the breathtaking views, open-air whirpool with solarium on the roof of the villa - all made the perfect pictures for the scenes of the music videos and captured the beauty of this paradise for ever.We thank all members of the wonderful d'Esposito family of owners (Maria, Peppe,Pasquale, Oriana) and their friendly and hardworking helpers (Elio, Carmela) for the great hospitality care and love that me and my shooting team felt every minute of our stay and shooting experience.
Grazie mille per tutto !!!
P.S.
If you want to have an unforgettable stay definitely choose to visit Villa Oriana.
Nataly T.

We've just returned from a week at Villa Oriana and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. This is the first time we've ever bothered to write an online review for somewhere, but Villa Oriana really deserve the praise! Maria (the owner) cooks an amazing breakfast every morning and the view from the terrace overlooking Sorrento and Naples is perfect. Elio and the other staff couldn't have been more helpful from the moment we arrived and are very welcoming. We moved rooms part way through the week which was no problem, and both rooms we stayed in were spotlessly clean and comfortable.

The location of Villa Oriana is a little way out of Sorrentos main square and up a hill. We enjoyed the walk in each day which took about 20 minutes. It may not be for everyone in the heat of the day but was ideal for us as the trade off at night getting such a spectacular view of Sorrento from the Villa is worth the walk! There are plenty of places to stop for drinks on the way to Sorrento's main area too so don't let the distance put you off. In addition, a number of restaurants offer a free pick up and drop off service door to door from Villa Oriana. Elio arranged this for us on several of the evenings and it made everything even easier. A restaurant called Da Fillipos is also well worth a visit!

We took advantage of using the pool at the Hotel Cristiana which is free to Villa Oriana guests and just a couple of minutes walk down the road and also used the Jacuzzi on the roof of Villa Oriana on several occasions. Both a welcome break from the heat!

All in all this is probably one of the nicest places we've stayed, and definitely the best breakfast! Thank you for a lovely stay. John and Katie.

Booked a deluxe room c8 weeks before our stay and had the expectation we would be located in the Villa - I had not read the reviews in detail! Our room - an apartment - was on the ground floor of the property behind the villa which was comfortable in itself, just not what I had expected or booked - it did not have safe, wi fi access etc

The position of the villa overlooking the Bay of Naples provides a great view. The location was ok for us as we are happy to walk anywhere but most guests appeared to use taxis in the evening as its more than 15mins walk to the centre of Sorrento . The breakfast is exceptional as reported by others.

In summary, I feel we paid a premium price for our room which was comfortable for us but I can see no reference on the website to rooms being provided outside the villa and so felt we didn't get exactly what we paid for.
