A quiet, nice hotel in Sorrento. First, you notice the lemon trees, then you learn they make their own lemoncello. Second, they say they serve breakfast in the morning, then you go and find the best meal you have had in years. Third, they may mention that they have a rooftop pool and patio, then you discover the world's greatest view of Mt. Vesuvius at sunset. Sorrento is a wonderful destination and Hotel Oriana Relais is a true find.

Room Tip: Any reservation will get you there. A balcony is nice.

We loved our stay at the Villa Oriana. Maria and her staff are top notch. The best breakfasts we had in our two week trip in Italy. We had a problem setting up a cruise on the coast and the staff came through in a pinch with a wonderful trip! I couldn't recommend them more strongly. And the views on the porch at sunset were breath taking.

Very friendly staff and a great breakfast of homemade breads and such. Nice view of Sorrento. No pool, just a single spa on the roof that closes early. Lemon grove is located on site. Our quad room consisted of two (2) beds squeezed into a small room.

Small bed and breakfast inn on top of hills of Sorrento. Your arrive to a gate that opens up to a walkway through their lemon trees. Beautiful view of the Bay of Naples from the outside deck. Greeted with a drink of fresh squeezed lemondade from their lemon trees and a piece of homemade cake. Check for nuts if anyone has allergies. Service was outstanding. Eat off the floor clean! Our last day we had an early departure time and the owners got breakfast set for us so we could eat before we left. It is a trek to town. You can take a shortcut down a steep stairway but it isn't lit at night. We rented scooters which were a lot of fun. We had the suite for our family of 4 that fit comfortably. The bathroom was beautiful and very large. The room is furnished with antiques. The walls of the room and inn are somewhat plain but really, not a big deal when you can look out over the bay to Mt. Vesuvius. Although you had to take a taxi at night we preferred staying atop of the town as in town was noisy. They dd recommend some restaurants that provided car service but we found the food to be just ok. My only suggestion for the inn would be to let people check into our rooms and get settled before we are invited to have cake and lemonade.

My husband and I recently stayed at Villa Oriana for several nights. On the positive side the setting amid a lemon grove is delightful and tranquil, the breakfasts are superb with freshly baked goodies every day. The staff are helpful and friendly. The bedroom and bathroom are clean and comfortable. The views over the bay of Naples are wonderful.

On the negative side - the bedroom furniture is very basic (think Ikea!). The position of the hotel is too far out of Sorrento to walk and although the hotel does have some arrangements with Restuarants who will provide transport, these restaurants are not the best and not where I would choose to dine.

Overall the Villa Oriana is a very nice B&B but just does not quite live up to it's very high ratings. Would I stay there again? - only if I couldn't get a reasonable hotel in the centre of sorrento - the real deal breaker is the location.

My fiance and I stayed at Villa Oriana 6 years ago, and could not wait to return. After deciding to get married in Sorrento, there was no doubt that we would be staying at Villa Oriana again. The scenery inside the grounds and from the rooms/breakfast area is absolutely gorgeous. Lemon trees, honeysuckle, and rosemary growing all around are just some of the sensory highlights.

The staff was wonderful to us, picking us up after a transportation mishap, and finding a hairdryer for a panicking bride-to-be. We booked the honeymoon package, and received a bottle of Prosecco and fresh flowers in our room upon arrival. The morning of the wedding, they decorated our breakfast table, and later, set out more Prosecco and lit candles for us to return to on our wedding night.

Breakfast is made fresh, and Maria's creations are delicious. We particularly liked the fresh squeezed orange juice.

The only thing that might keep someone from choosing Villa Oriana is knowing that it is not located in downtown Sorrento. It is a 5 minute walk to the main road in Sant'Agnello, and then another 10 or 15 minutes to the center of Sorrento. There is a bus that can get you there, if you don't want to walk.

Villa Oriana is a peaceful, romantic spot for couples. We would definitely recommend that you see for yourself!

Villa Oriana was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Staff was very curtious and warm. The owner prepares herself a wonderful breakfast every morning. The property is located in the hills of Sorrento, not quite in the center. But staff coordinates bus service (2 min drive) to restaurants and day trips. We took the capri day trip suggested by staff and it was really nice. Will return when in italy to this beautiful hotel.
