“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

Lovely hotel with amazing view of Sorrento. Greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, taken to a room with a breath-taking view and given champagne and fresh fruit to celebrate our arrival. Room was immaculate, tastefully decorated with balcony overlooking four-tiered pool. Huge breakfast buffet included everyday. Two dinners also included-which were delicious. Very impressed with staff-especially Roberta at front desk who helped arrange amazing day trips. Highly recommend this hotel. Attentive to the last detail and last minute. They even provided us with a breakfast to go at 3 am upon leaving to go home. Would return in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. You won't regret it!

Hotel Capodimonte is well situated with views over Sorrento bay being stunning, the staff were helpful at all times, food was fantastic with a superb variation of dishes to try. Hotel decor was tastefully done althought the unique layout of the hotel was interesting to say the least.
The rooms were clean and well layed out. All this lead to a pleasurable stay would definateley return to the Hotel Capodimonte

I’ve been remiss in not providing one of the best reviews for one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at on this small plant.

In early July we arrived via ferry from Naples after a few days in that crazy city. We had called the hotel ahead of time and they arranged for a car to meet us for 12 euro which was almost half the price of a regular taxi ride for the short 5 minute journey. As we pulled up to the dock, we knew we had arrived. We booked this hotel based on reading all the trip advisor reviews. All I can say is wow! We booked a full Seaview room only (no full or half-board food option like many of the Europeans booked). Beautifully tiled floors throughout the hotel and rooms. Room with king size bed (pulled together but you would never know) was beautifully appointed and furnished. Large bathroom and great amenities. Free Wi-Fi (which annoyingly you had to log into every 5 minutes) and welcomed with a beautiful fruit basket and Champaign bucket. Great view of the town, bay , ocean and 5 levels of pool.

Hotel had several dining rooms which had wonderful views of the bay and sea however we only ate one night at the hotel with a couple from England we met. Breakfast was included for everyone and was a wonderful buffet with an omelet station. Wide assortment of fresh fruits, meats, breads and even Champaign at the ready.

Front desk were exceptionally helpful answering all questions. Pool was phenomenal you just have outguess the pool attendant to get more than one towel. Pools start to waterfall between each level every few hours which makes for a great way to cool off. Lots of great places around the pool to setup your chair and enjoy the view of the ocean and all the activities happening below.

Contrary to what it looks like on Google maps, the hotel is a 5 minute walk to town. It’s about 5 minutes to the end of the main street drag and another 5 minutes to the central square. Many restaurants and shops along the main street and the “old town” back streets where all the shops and Limóncello shops are. Great little convenience store right before you exit the main drag where you can pick up a bottle of wine and enjoy on your patio back at the hotel and not pay hotel rates. While were there the main street would close down every night and became one big party road. All cars were prohibited and people walked, talked and partied till late.

I could find no fault with this hotel. Great home base for ferry day trips to Capri, Amalfi, Positano or other tourist spots. 20 minute walk to the central train station for day trips to Herculaneum or Pompeii (both highly recommended). After my first day, I Skyped with a friend in Chicago who was booking a trip to Sorrento in October. I showed him a live video feed of the room, Sea view and pool view. 20 minutes later he emailed me his reservation for this hotel. His review just got posted here dated October 14th….

Room Tip: Book a full Seaview room. This will get you on floor 9 or higher away from the restaurants but with...

We were so pleased with the rooms, we celebrated the first day. Our room is large, clean, with colorful but tastefull tile flooring and has every detail we need and want. We came directly from Paris (more $$$ than this, and 50% less in amenities.)View of the city and some bay, quiet so you can sleep, TV good so you can unwind, safe, 2 twin beds, fine for us, wonderful bar/lounge and good service from staff. Decor is fabulous and soooo well done. WiFi is the only negative (weak/spotty) if you call FREE WiFi a negative. I would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: 201 is ours and good, with view of city and partial bay. Take it if price is good.

This hotel was well above our expectations in addition to its convenient location. From the decor, service, attentiveness of the staff, large rooms with large and comfortable bed to the outstanding view of Sorrento from the many terraces available to sit in. the breakfast and dinner were included, something we did not expect, and they were delicious. Just incredible. We almost wanted to hang out in the hotel and pools instead of driving to the Amalfi coast. We will be back!

We stayed here for 5 nights in October. The room (delux) was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony and a very nice view. Breakfast was ok but coffee was not hot enough and no vegetables. There is free wifi all around but didn't always work good in the room. The location is great, not inside the urban area but within a short walking distance from the center. All in all - a good place to stay in Sorrento.

We went here on our friends advice. We were not disappointed. Clean rooms, very cool pool, short, short walk to town and the BEST service.

If you want to see Sorrento and take trips to Capri, the Amalfi coast etc. then this is the place.

Again, the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly.

Enjoy!
