We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Capodimonte.
Staff were charming, polite and helpful at all times.
It's about 5-10 minutes' walk from the middle of Sorrento (with pavements all the way – unlike some hotels, a bit further out). The views are spectacular, across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius, as it is slightly up the hill.
The terraced area above the hotel is delightful, lots of space on comfy loungers and a very pleasant restaurant for lunch (at reasonable prices). Judging by the occasional squeal, the swimming pools are unheated – but this will be less of a problem in the high summer (we visited in April).
Breakfast in the hotel is a buffet style – with lots of choice and variety. Chefs are on hand to cook fresh omelettes and the like. Also, the first time I've seen Prosecco on offer at breakfast.
WiFi worked well in all locations (bedroom, lounge and bar)..
We didn't eat dinner in the hotel, as the town of Sorrento has a wide selection of good value / high restaurants.
A very pleasant and relaxing stay - top hotel and we hope to go back one day.More
