We stayed here last week with my 6 year old son and had a fantastic time. The hotel, location, and view are amazing but just as important are the staff who made my little boy so welcome (in his Napoli kit!). Special mention to Guisey, Antonio and the life guard (forgot his name) although all are 5 star. I was on the 9th floor, incredible views.

Room Tip: 9th floor - bay facing

We stayed at the Capodimonte Hotel towards the end of May and were very pleased that our choice of hotel turned out to be a good one.

The hotel is very well appointed with impressive lounges, restaurants etc. We chose a front facing room with sea view. The room was four star as was the view.

The pool area is impressive with three small interconnecting pools. There is plenty of seating as well as a restaurant. There is also a very professional life guard who also has a role in managing the pool. A notice promises that unattended towels left on sunbeds are removed after an hour.

There is also a very attractive terrace at the front of the hotel, this is large, has plenty of seating and great views.

All the staff we encountered were charming and helpful, indeed during our week in Sorrento all the people we met were brilliant.

Something that I particularly liked about the package was the option for guests on half board to have have a midday meal instead of dinner. This gave us plenty of opportunity to try out some of Sorrento's eateries but didn't do much for my waistline.

The hotel is located a very short walk from the centre of Sorrento.

Dear Phil,

thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor regarding your recent stay at our hotel.

We are glad that you were pleased with your choice and you found the hotel to be well appointed and the pool well managed, thanks to our professional life guard.

Indeed our public areas are one of our best features, with fabulous views over the bay and bar service running all day around.

Also the option for half board guests to have lunch instead of dinner is often praised by our guests, giving them the option to try our A la Carte Restaurant by the pool on evenings or simply dine out in town.

We hope to welcome you again as soon as possible

Best Regards

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of May. We had paid a little extra for a sea view and wow, it was worth every penny! Room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the bay of Naples. Staff in the hotel could not do enough for you. Breakfast was great and could be taken on the terrace, again with the fabulous view. Sorrento was all that we had hoped it would be, and we look forward to returning, obviously back to the Capodimonte.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for a premier room with sea view

The staff are all very curtious from housekeeping to porters, reception,waiting-on staff. The room itself was spacious beautiful seaview smallish balcony high up so felt a little precarious but thats me and heights. Breakfast was reasonable with choice of cereal, fresh fruit, juices,a toasting machine, hot breakfast, bacon sausage, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, eggs, had to ask for omlettes to be cooked well or could be a little wet, and depending how busy could be a little while waiting as cooked to order. Ate out at night so cannot comment on evening meal. The rooms very clean , linen changed daily, towels morning and night, chocolate left at bedtime. We did take a trip from the hotel to Caprice just short of 50 euros per person, picked up on time taken to port 30 min drive away, boarded smallish boat 60 passengers roundabout then off we went. Well what a journey, quite a swell on sea all the way to caprice and part way round island so eveyone feeling green when arrived in caprice, couldnt go into blue grotto as high tide but not bothered as just wanted to reach land, daren't eat in caprice as concerned about return journey, but as it turned out a much better return journey.Maybe go on the larger ferry or hydrofoil next time. The hotel clean, pleasant, but as we were here a week it seemed too formal, needed to lighten up a little, it seems its a hotel where yes people do stay for a week or so but more where people breeze in just for a few days to do sorrento sights. The pool could possibly be a touch warmer too, not many in due to its temperature.

Room Tip: Seaview for sure but no need for a high floor room.

The Capodimonte is simply what you would expect of a 4-star hotel. Very competent and professional staff, beautiful environment, and luxurious rooms. We had extra requirements that were fulfilled immediately, and I was impressed with the full-sized tub ... the first we had available while we toured Italy. Most accomodations had only showers of various sizes and water pressures. I think we could have just stayed in the room, but there was so much to do and see in this area that we really didn't spend much time there. The restaurant served a varied and good breakfast, with a great view of the town. The evening dining was OK, although the swordfish was a little dry. Be prepared to dress better than beach fare for dinner, although blazer and slacks for the gentlemen would be adequate.

Room Tip: Some rooms view the Mediterranean while others open to the gardens. Suggest checking which view whe...

Just returned from a great week at this hotel. It was our first trip to Sorrento and we loved it, the hotel was very good we had a beautiful room with sea view, glad we upgraded to seaview as other Rooms had viewsof building or very close to another wall or rock face. The food was very good lots of choice for dinner and restaurant had a great view of Sorrento and the sea. The downfall of this hotel was no entertainment at night except for singers at dinner and a piano lounge. The bar staff could have been a bit more friendly in the lounge they were quite aloof.

Room Tip: Make sure you upgrade to a sea view, it is worth the extra cost.
