This hotel was recommended by our travel agent when we required a short notice 7 day break in an adult friendly location.
We were truly impressed with the location, the facilities and especially the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff.
From the way we were welcomed and introduced to the hotel by the reception staff we immediately knew that this hotel knows how to treat their guests.
Although the hotel is built into a cliff, the lifts are excellent and access to all facilities is easy. Similarly, the walk from the hotel into town is an easy stroll.
Our room was spacious, exceptionally clean and well equipped. We prefer feather pillows, and these were supplied almost instantaneously after making a request.
The views from our room were fabulous, and worth the premium.
We were on half board terms. The breakfast was fabulous. The one negative was that we thought the quality of the evening meal should have been higher. Perhaps a case of offering too many choices instead of producing fewer dishes from locally sourced ingredients. If we go again we would choose B & B terms.
Every evening we looked forward to drinks in the bar before and after our evening meal, especially when greeted by the wonderful welcoming smile of Maria. The view from the bar across the bay is utterly enchanting.
Lovely hotel; lovely people.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view across the Bay of Naples are worth the premium.

The Grand Capodimonte Sorrento was the centerpiece of our perfect Itailian holiday! Classic and charming at the same time. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. We were on the top floor with private balcony and the view in the morning , evening and late at night was so incredible , it was almost too much to take in! The same with the candlelight dinner, so perfect. Violin music playing , the Bay of Naples with Mount Vesuvius directly in view. Service was top notch! White glove, silver covered dishes were expertly delivered to our table. Wine service no exception! The room had a King size comfortable bed, large fully appointed bathroom. Very clean , fantastic accomadations! Truely a gem. A must stay. Only minutes walk to the center of town. Beautiful swimming pools. Excellent Piano bar . All staff were warm , helpful and professional.

Room Tip: Top floors have an incredable view!

We had a fantastic experience at the hotel that is beautifully located and has a lovely ambiance. We enjoyed a picturesque view of the Bay of Naples from our room and the balcony with Mt Vesuvius as a distant backdrop. Just sitting on the balcony, one can let the world go past - relaxing and listening to the distant church bell chimes and the sound of Sorrento below...The food was fantastic and the atmosphere at the restaurant was so relaxing. We were also impressed by the professional and helpful nature of the staff. This was undoubtedly one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had....thank you Capodimonte! Looking forward to return again if we get the opportunity.

This hotel is a must when staying in Sorrento, A stunning hotel, excellent position only a few mins easy walk into the town, beautifully decorated ,clean well serviced rooms , the lounge and bar area are beautifully decorated and sipping cocktails at "Happy Hour "overlooking the bay of Naples is stunning ! Everyone ,from the moment you arrive are completely at your service and cannot do enough to assist you in whatever you may need , We would like to make particular mention of the lovely lady ( Barbara ) at Reception, not only was she delightful but most helpful with all our enquiries, also we would like to mention Fabio one of the waiters , what a delightful ,helpful man, nothing was too much trouble at anytime , and everything was done with a smile , our stay in the beautiful Hotel Capodimonte was made so much more pleasurable but the kindness and actions of these lovely people, If we never get baclk to Italy , I know we have experienced "heaven on Earth" at the Capodimonte !

Room Tip: I am sure all the rooms would be lovely

I enjoyed a fantastic two week holiday in this beautiful hotel in May, the staff at The Capodimonte are the jewel in the crown of this hotel which in my opinion should be 5 star rated. This was my first visit to The Capodimonte but I hope will not be my last. My room on the 4th floor was immaculately clean and serviced daily by wonderfully friendly staff, the food in the two beautifully appointed restaurants was first class and served by experienced and welcoming staff. So thank you Capodimonte and hope to see you again soon.

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Sorrento and the Hotel Capodimonte. We booked a premier sea view room and we had a room on the 6th floor - the views over the bay of Naples are amazing, and we are glad we paid the extra for the sea view. The room was fairly large and was exceptionally clean. The room had lovely traditional furniture and a beautiful tiled bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and there is a choice of pillows. The room was cleaned every day. The highlight for us was the pool area, it really is delightful. The pool attendant is lovely and provides you with a towel each day - a nice touch and great that you don't need to pack pool towels. The pool area is spotless and there are plenty of quiet areas and terraces, and lots umbrellas provided for shade. There is a nice restaurant by the pool where you can have lunch which we did on several occasions. All the staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

We enjoyed the breakfast each morning - there was plenty of choice, and the egg chef was a great addition. My husband had a freshly cooked omelette every morning and said it was delicious. Dinner is waiter service and there is plenty of choice, I particularly enjoyed the risottos which were superb. There is a good selection of reasonably priced bottles of wine, and the staff were always helpful in their recommendations. We also ate out in Sorrento on a couple of evenings - there is a great selection of restaurants and the hotel give you the option to swap dinner to lunch by the pool.
We will definately return to this hotel - it really is a gem. We have stayed in many hotels around the world and all hotel rooms start to look the same, but the Capodimonte is the exception and has retained a certain charm and elegance that is hard to find these days.

Room Tip: It is worth paying the extra for a sea view room. There is also a block near the pool area and the...
