I attended a wedding in Sorrento in 2013. The wedding reception was held at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte. Eveythwhere is spotlessly clean. The rooms are nicely fuirnished if a little smaller than one might expect, but still roomy enough for two people. The hotel is built on the side of a cliff so the patio and pool area are on the upper levels. The food is simply outstanding even by Itlaian standards. The staff are exceptional. The location of the hotel is convenient for all areas of Sorrento including the fishing harbour where you can find fantastic fish restaurants.
The hotel is approximately 250 - 300 yards from Piazza Toro, which a great spot both for lunch or dinner. There are a number of quality stores, restaurants, and cafes to be found, all of which seem to have a great ambience. It is a very safe area to walk the back streets and explore, which some say is unlike Naples, The Amalfi Coast, Possitano, Pompeii, and Capri are very easily reached so if you like to venture out you will have no problems at all.
My tip: Take a boat trip along the Amalfi Coast. It's one of the beauty spots of the World.More
