“What a view!”
Reviewed 25 April 2012

This place has its pros and cons, but overall it's a wonderful option in Sorrento. Location it's not centre but just 15 minutes walk from the main piazza. For what I saw, I would say that there are a lot of different rooms, in terms of decoration, size and views. I booked a room with see view and I was given a room with balcony overlooking the naples bay (a free upgrade because of the end of the low season I think - the hotel was almost empty). The room was pretty big, well decorated, with the usual amenities (the shower wasn't that great, but it did its work). The hotel public areas are very comfortable, and the terraces are magnificent. Breakfast is a bounty experience, with a very good array of choises, everything is fresh and tasty. Hotel staff is not extremely attentive (specially a bald man at the front desk), but correct. Price - quality relation I think is good for Sorrento standards.

My crew stayed at this property while filming last year and I am pleased to report the quality of the rooms (4 star in my opinion) combined with the willing attitude of the staff make this property a great find in Sorrento. It's about a 5 to 8 minute walk from main street out on the 'cliffs' so you don't have to deal with the congestion that is Sorrento. The common area of the hotel is wonderful and expansive and provides ample and diverse seating/viewing opportunities of the bay and sea. The breakfast is good but not too heavy or light (which tends to be the case in Italy). Some rooms have incredibly wonderful balconies while others simply have windows. A great pool on the roof is wonderful while a chilly plunge pool is also available. Most pools are not heated and feature salt water by the way.

We had an excellent stay. Lots to see all around this area even in two weeks and relying on public transport. Only downside was the poolside attendant whom, I'm afraid, who came over as a very possessive, somewhat arrogant and over enthusiastic in his handling of the little rooftop domain. Despite this one downside, which we didn't allow to spoil a magnificent holiday, this was a hotel which had lots of highlights and left us with loads of warm and lovely memories for months to come - fantastic!
Overall, views to die for, memories to last for ever and a longing to return.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 3 nights during our Honeymoon in October of 2011. When we made the reservation we let the hotel know we would be celebrating our honeymoon by staying at their hotel. Upon arrival, not only was there a stunning view of the Bay of Naples awaiting us but also a chilled bottle of champagne and a basket with fresh fruit (a real treat!).

The hotel is just a quick five-ten minute walk up the road from Sorrento, it's location is what provides the amazing views. I was concerned about the walk from Sorrento, but it really was not too far or too uphill. It is worth the walk!

We stayed in a "Sea View' Room and it was certainly worth it. The balcony was large and had a nice bistro table to enjoy the view, a glass of wine and a good book or simply enjoy some good company. The balcony also had two lounge chairs.

The room was large and comfortable (safe was available) and the bathroom had enough room for the two of us.

We did enjoy dinner one night at the hotel and we would rather recommend that you experience Sorrento and skip the dinner at the hotel. We found it to be very quiet and somewhat stuffy. Sorrento at night is beautiful and there are many fantastic and reasonably priced restaurants.

We did have breakfast at the hotel each day since it was included in our rate but we were not overly impressed by it.

Overall, we were pleased with our stay and the service we received.

Room Tip: Sea View room is certainly worth the cost!

What a wonderful view each morning of the Bay of Naples!

Recently returned to the hotel after a long absence (we honeymooned at the Minerva in 1988) and it hasn't changed much, if at all. It's very relaxing and being just outside of Sorrento very quiet...Hotel could do with a bit of TLC but in a way some of the rustic aspects adds to its charm.

Choosing this hotel was one of our best decision in this trip.
Beautiful hotel, a homely atmosphere, great and comfortable room.
The staff was amazing! they help as alot, gave us useful Information and treated us well. especialy Nello :)
It's only 10 min. walk to the center, and very quiet at night.
Breakfast is very nice, and also with a view to the town.
I would definitely come back!

The view from our room of the Bay of Naples was beyond belief! Vesuvius was directly across the Bay. Eating on the balcony over looking the Bay, Sorrento, and the villages below was a perfect end our trip to Italy. The Hotel staff was professional and very helpful. The resturant, though influenced by the influx of many Northern Europeans and Americans still provided good, Italian dishes. This certainly is a place to visit for the scenery and charm.
