“Loved Minerva hotel”

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Minerva hotel and it was amazing. The view is worth the stay alone and then the service was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and they upgraded our room as well! This hotel definitely made our trip to sorrento fantastic.

We had a fantastic week in Sorrento and staying at the Minerva Hotel was the icing on the cake. Fantastic location just a short walk from the centre.
Roof top pool was great and having breakfast and evening meal on the terrace was amazing , with views of the sea and the bay.
Food and staff were great ,
Room was great and with a sea view.
Please book as I will be amazed if you find any faults.

The hotel is in a fabulous position with views towards Versuvius over the Bay of Naples. We had an attic room which was spacious and very clean with easy access to the rooftop swimming pool. Franco who looked after the pool was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed several lunches at the pool. The temperature was pleasant it was never overly busy, there were plenty of sunbeds and the view was fantastic. The hotel is well run and it was a joy to eat our meals on the terrace with those magnificent views. Breakfast buffet was very good and there was a good choice offered for evening meal, portions were generous. In general there was a pleasant ambience throughout the hotel and we would certainly stay there again.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Minerva. As other contributors have said, this is an all round quality hotel, but for us there are two exceptional features. Firstly, the views are out of this world both from the room balcony but also the public areas including restaurant and pool area. Secondly, each and every one of the staff are really friendly and committed to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Special mention here to Franco who looks after the pool area - a great character who really takes pride in making sure that the pool area is the safest and most hygienic possible. We found the quality of food really good at breakfast and especially dinner. The pasta dishes are particularly impressive. The only criticism would be that the hot breakfast options could have been more varied. We had a room on the first floor and as other contributors have mentioned traffic noise from the busy road might be a problem for light sleepers. Overall though this was an exceptional hotel and whist we have stayed in other 4 star hotels in Sorrento in the past, the Minerva would absolutely be our first choice for any future return

Room Tip: We had a room on the first floor. Rooms on the top floors have a larger balcony and will be further...

This was our first visit to Sorrento and we feel we chose the ideal hotel for our 4 night stay. The location was superb with breathtaking views and an easy 10-15 minute slow walk into the main square. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was very good and very reasonable as were the drinks. The views were the highlight of our stay here, we loved to sit and have our evening meal and drinks admiring the view across the bay. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The hotel pool was a welcoming retreat after a day of sightseeing as it was immaculately clean and the staff were always on hand to provide towels and help you find a sunny spot or somewhere in the shade. We would definitely stay here again and hopefully for longer next time.

The view from our hotel window was beautiful. Looked across at Vesuvius every morning. Spent five days here. We did the Hop-on, Hop-off bus, went to Pompei by train, spent the day at Capri by going across by ferry from the harbour, Went on a bus tour of Amalfi. The guide was absolutely brilliant, with the trip ending up in Ravello for lunch. Every other night, we walked down to Sorrento for dinner and then back. Needless to say, we loved the place.

We previously stayed for a week in this hotel 3 years ago, but found we did not have enough time to do everything we wanted as there is so much to see & do in the area - Pompeii, Herculaneuem, Vesuvius, Capri, Amalfi Drive, etc. So we decided we would stay for 2 weeks so we could not only get out and visit, but also have time for relaxation. The hotel is very good, it is kept spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely friendly, but its main attribute is position, position, position. The views from the hotel are superb over the bay of Naples with Vesuvius straight ahead and sitting eating your evening meal on the terrace looking at this view as the sun goes down and the lights come on is nothing short of magical. I could not think of staying at another hotel and missing out on this view. The hotel itself is Italian rated as a 4 star hotel which would roughly equate to a 3 star English rating. The food is good rather than great but you just cannot beat eating on the terrace in the evening. Points to note: A room with a balcony is recommended so you can sit and admire the view. The hotel is next to the road and road noise during the day can be quite loud, however at night you can close the double glazed door (which you need to do for the air conditioning to work) and it is barely noticeable. The food portions are large, particularly the pasta starters which are the size of a normal main meal. It is tempting to clear the plate as their pasta dishes are particularly good and then realise you have a main course still to come, when all you really want is a desert. You therefore have to pace yourself and after the first few days you start to leave half the meal, which is a shame. There is a 10 minute walk into town which is fine and helps to work off the food as is slightly uphill on the way back. It is nice to have the option of walking into town as some hotels are so far up in the hills that you have to use a minibus service. Overall an excellent stay and we will return

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony
