What a wonderful week! From the plate of cold cuts waiting for us on our late night arrival, to the fondness of the farewell on our last day, it couldn't have been better. All the staff are so professional, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and it seemed they took pleasure in providing an exceptional service. The room was big by Italian standards with a full bathroom, kept spotless. Air conditioning worked fine, and the little balcony with the view to sooth your soul was perfect. Mini bar was not overpriced, neither were the drinks from the bar. The food was probably the best we have ever had on a half board basis in Europe. The views from the public areas, well everyone has already mentioned them. The pool is beautiful, we don't usually do pools, but when we saw how clean it was and that it had a jacuzzi at the shallow end, we just had to cool off in there. There is a small gym with what looked like brand new equipment. Entertainment on the terrace in the evening was lovely, and made us smile. The walk into Sorrento was easy for us, you just need to take your time when passing other people as the pavement is quite narrow in places and the road really is busy. The hotel is a quirky mix of styles, which really works, and if you forget your book, there are plenty to chose from all round the place. But the staff and service really made our week, would not hesitate to return, so Ciao for now!

My wife and I have just completed our sixth stay at the Hotel Minerva in Sorrento. Our first stay was in 2008 and we have returned every year since then. It goes without saying that we enjoy holidaying there. The view of Sorrento and the bay of Naples from the Minerva is truly breath-taking; new guests alighting from the lift stare open mouthed and walk in a trance like state to the front of the terrace gently mouthing the words “Oh my God” as they see the vista for the very first time.
The rooms are comfortable, light and airy and are kept beautifully clean by the pleasant and cheery house-keeping team.
The terrace restaurant is a delight and is staffed by a team of waiters who do their utmost to make your meal a special occasion; the menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner are varied and of a very high standard serving local, national and international dishes that leaves one feeling very satisfied cum the end of the meal.
Spending our evening on the terrace while listening to the charming singer as we sip a glass of our favourite wine was the perfect end to the day.
One of the reasons we return each year is because all the staff, both front of house and back room, are friendly, polite, helpful and they do all they can to make your holiday a memorable one.
grazie mille e ci vediamo l'anno prossimo!
Thank you very much and see you next year!

The view from our terrace was just amazing. Eating on the restaurant terrace was a delight. The staff were extremely helpful and made us feel very special. Food was excellent. The only downside was that the traffic from Naples in the summer can be dreadful which it was but this hotel was really worth the hassle. Day trip to Pompeii was worthwhile if history is your thing.

My wife and I have stayed here on two separate occasions, once in 2007 and again in 2012. The vistas from the top deck, and from the sea-view rooms at this hotel are breathtaking. The staff is friendly and very helpful (In 2012 we arrived in Sorrento during a religious festival which made travel to the hotel difficult, but after a brief phone call to the hotel's front desk a taxi was dispatched by them to pick up our group...great service which was much appreciated). The hotel's location on Via Capo is a short walk from the center of Sorrento...no problem at all for avid walkers, and for those who don't like to walk there is a bus that makes frequent trips to and from the center. My wife and I love this hotel and we plan to return on our next trip to Sorrento.

We had booked the Minerva about 6 months ahead of our stay and had high expectation of the experience, based on Trip Advisor reviews and friends who had experienced Via Capo in Sorrento. We left our luggage early in the morning, spent the day on the Amalfi Coast, then returned to the hotel to check into our room. Beautiful room, but in the corner of the hotel with a narrow obstructed view -what a let down after such a build up. On heading out for dinner I told the guy at reception that I was pretty let down with the view after booking so early, misread feined concern and expected nothing to happen.
The next morning after breakfast our friend at reception told us he had news for us and arranged to transfer us to another room with the most fantastic view of the Bay of Naples. What fantastic recovery -our stay became the event that we had anticipated. It went from a 6 to a 9.5 out of 10.
The waiters at breakfast were so hospitable, the pool staff and room attendants fantastically Italian and expressive.
This hotel is well appointed but it's the views that win in the end. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth that we have ever been to. The town of Sorrento is enchanting, as are Positano and Amalfi. Mount Vesuvius from your bedroom window is amazing day and night, with fireworks shows always likely. Pompeii is a must-see and it's only an hour away.
Restaurants and bars of high standard abound and the history and gorgeous scenery just add to the overall experience. Fantastico!

Room Tip: Insist on a view. Don't get stuck in a corner on the northern end of the building.

we (me my wife and 10 month old daughter) stayed at hotel Minerva for 6 night at July 2013.
The hotel view is the best you can get in Sorrento, if you order room with sea view , you wakes up everyday to a dream... if not you can enjoy it while eating breakfast and wonderful dinner at the balcony of the hotel or catching a tan at the roof swimming pool.
The stuff in extremely friendly and always eager to help.
The hotel is beautifully decorated.
We had nice live music every night at the balcony with a romantic atmosphere.
the room was beautiful . large and they gave us a nice crib for the baby.
and the breakfast was nice not amazing but nice.

the only thing one should consider is the hotel is high on the hill and it takes a few minute up the road to get there from the city center so that's of course what gives it his amazing view but with a baby trolley it was hard sometimes...
other then that, just perfect!!

Room Tip: Take room with sea view..

Stayed here at the end of June 2013 and had a wonderful holiday. Chose the hotel as it was well reviewed on Tripadvisor and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel itself was lovely - really lovely facilities, room was a good size and we got a balcony we weren't expecting so a bonus! The terrace restaurant and for drinks was so nice with beautiful views across the bay. It was a short walk to the centre of Sorrento and it only took us 15 minutes and it was worth it for the views from our hotel terrace and balcony.

By far the best feature of this hotel was the service and staff. I had the best service I think I've ever had in a hotel. All the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. The staff seemed to take an interest and were always helpful and would check that you had everything you need.

Overall a truly lovely holiday in a fabulous hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
