“I would not have wanted a different hotel!”

In Sorrento you have three choices for hotels: In town, Up the hill on the cliff side, and Up the hill across the street from the cliff. Town is bustling--really busy and you don't get the amazing view from the hill, so we opted out of that option. There are beautiful hotels on the "street" side (minerva looked nice), but you have to bolt across the busy street to get to them and to get the cliff view your room has to face the noise on the street. So, that leaves us with cliff side--quiet and the amazing view. Upon arrival to Hotel Belair, we were upgraded to room 310 at check in and greeted with a chilled bottle of champagne in our room. The staff put up with all of my questions about the international phone card and were always pleasent. If you eat at the hotel, get the blue cheese and pear dish--OMG the best! I can't say the decor is updated, but that is not atop my priority list in a hotel. It took about 8 minutes to get down the hill to the start of town. I can say that I was glad we didn't have our kids with us--the sidewalk to town is skinny and buses are flying by you to one side and there's a cliff on the other side of the rail. Yikes. Many people hung out at the pool all day, but we never did--we were catching the commuter train back to Vesuvio, etc. and had a driver (Wisely Tours--Carlo) take us around the Amalfi Coast another day. Great trip thanks to Hotel Belair and the amazing people of Sorrento!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. It helped that on arrival we got upgraded to the Imperial Suite, which has about a million rooms and a huge private deck, meaning we never really had to go to the pool to sit out in the sun and take in the view. And you won't get a better view of the bay of Naples and Marina Grande than from this hotel...simply breathtaking. Breakfast is great, service is terrific and friendly. I'd say the one weakness is the restaurant. You want to go into town for dinner, but why wouldn't you, given all the choices in Sorrento and the closed off streets at night? Definitely a place I'd return to.

Me and my family aged 47,45,14,16 stayed in hotel Belair from the 15th July to the 25th. We had an AMAZING time. Food in the hotel is brilliant nd just as good as the food elsewhere in sorrento. Although if you have young kids the menu may not be suitable for them as it offers each night different mains and starters that are quite sophisticated. However, the staff are the moat friendliest people you will ever meet! And if you don't like the meal they will change it with no hassle and you can also ask for things for your main such as spaghetti carbonara, or just bolognese. One night I couldn't decide between smoked cheese and veal in the end I decided to go with the veal but when I got my veal the waiter said he put both the cheese and the veal on my plate! This is a demonstration of how kind and nice the staff are! It is free wifi which I don't think they mention on the website, so just ask at reception when you get there about a password and username. The lunch prices are reasonable and the pizzas are great value and you can ask for anything on them for €5.50!:) they also offer sandwiches and toasties down by the pool which are the same price and taste nice. The problem with the pool is that at around 5pm all the sunbeds go in the shade. You have to get up really early to select the sunbeds that don't go in the sun till later as most of them go very quickley into the shad at around 3. The view from all rooms is stunning!! And while your eating you always have a view of vesuvious and the bay if sorrento. Another problem that really annoyed me was that the hairdryer in the room is crap it takes about 20 mins to dry your hair but the hairdryer is so weak and is on a timer of 10 minutes your hair is never dry...so please I advise to bring your own!! The cleaners and maids are always making your beds and bringing fresh towels which is brilliant! I loved this holiday too because sorrento was very nice and you can choose lively or quiet places in the town to go. The walk to the town isn't uphill or downhill and doesn't take too long but be prepared. I think it was a nice walk and you can get some exercise on the holiday after the amount of food you eat. PLEASE book this place now!! You will love it:D xxxxxx

We have been to Sorrento a number of times, but this hotel was the tops. The room was enormous (by Italian standards), the food was excellent and the service was first class. The only problem we had was to stopeating at the buffet breakfast where the choice for a continental breakfast was extraordinary, even Bucks Fizz one morning. The special nights were excellent in the restaurant, with two pudds!
Best of all was the magnificent view of Vesuvius and Naples Bay from the balcony (from each room).

The ideal place for two persons not too interested in the world around - walking distance from city center, silent and peaceful. Spectacular view of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento, breathtaking and stunning. Nice restaurant where the head waitor runs a tight and clean ship, food is good and not to pricey. The swimming pool is nice and clean, very hot place in july/august, but the sun dissapears already at 1700-1730, so they close the area at 1800. The staff is extremely firendly and helpful and you can "smell" the good atmosphere with everybody working there. Wi-Fi is ok, but a little old fashioned with passwords and limits, should be free and open at all times for guest. Honeymooners and english/americans dressed up in not the latest fashion/evergreens, polite, well mannered and predictable. 5 minutes steep starways down to Marina Grande (open 1000-1800) is perfect for a swim/sun bathing - either at Tony's Beach (kids and oldtimers) or at Delfinos (excellent food and sundeck for the in-crowd). All in all an excellent anti-stress, ambient holiday at a wonderful hotel in the vibrant city of Sorrento.

Room Tip: Room with sea view is a must

This hotel is superb. The view itself is worth the stay. The pool was excellent. Friendly and helpful service, clean comfortable rooms and not over-the-top expensive. Would definitely stay here again
