“Wow, what view!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights and were very lucky with the weather as we lounged on the dock! Wow a terrific experience to be swimming in October.
We had a simple room but delightful and had a little patio which faced the mountains and that was fine with us. We booked on line and were able to get a great price. Breakfast was typical but done with style. We did not eat at the restaurant but had a few drinks on the patio. We enjoyed many meals at local restaurants. We walked everywhere but, one night we decided to take a taxi back to the hotel and it cost 20 euro for less than a mile.
The fellas at reception were very friendly and helpful.
My one tiny issue was the hotel turned off the AC at 2 am? I would've opened the door but we were next to this huge roof top which I didn't think was that secure. I asked the next morning and was told that's what they do. "It's not hot anymore" I reminded him that I was so the AC was kept on until morning.
The hotel is quite lovely and location is breathtaking.

This hotel has the most amazing views without being too near to the harbour with the noise of the ferries. We were lucky to have very good weather and enjoy sitting by the pool or the bar balcony. Our room was large for Italy and we had fresh white towels every day. Everywhere in the hotel including our room was very clean and tidy.
The staff went out of their way to make sure we had the best holiday giving us advise on trips and arranging transport. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
We had half board and had a good choice of food at breakfast and evening meal which was all of a high standard.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

From our arrival to the time we left we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our bedroom was with a sea view, some stunning sunsets and well worth paying more for.
Cleanliness in all areas of the hotel is excellent. Room comfortable and a large balcony with both table and chairs and deck chairs.
Staff friendly and helpful and eager to assist.
Our stay was half board and enjoyed the meals each evening. Our last day was the same day as the hotel was closing for the end of season, if we did not know this we would have been none the wiser as the service was impeccable
Sorrento is a beautiful place to visit and the hotel is only a slow 10 minute walk into it. Plenty of places to have a coffee or ice cream!!
The only downside was the drinks are rather expensive.

Room Tip: Sea view well worth paying extra for.

The hotel is excellent, lovely bedroom with stunning views over the Bay of Naples. Staff very friendly and efficient, public areas of the hotel were very clean, all day long. The breakfast had a limited choice with left overs from dinner being on the buffet. Dinner had a good choice of starter but, fried eggs one day followed by hamburger the next served with potatoes and another vegetable, together with help yourself to cold vegetables from the buffet,is not what we expected from a A la Carte hotel. We were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary whilst on holiday, and although we had sent an e-mail to the hotel regarding the room, they did nothing for our anniversary.

A superior tourist hotel – albeit less contemporary in style that the publicity photo makes it look – notable for some of the most consistently charming staff I have ever come across. The rooms are very clean (if not lavishly furnished), and some of them have excellent views. The special feature is the clifftop setting twinned with a waterside bathing platform – a double-whammy few of the other hotels enjoy. Breakfast is an elegant affair, too, if not particularly remarkable foodwise.

So, why only three stars? Well, would have been 4 going on 5 if it were not for Dinner, which is simply awful. Imagine being (speedily) processed by the tourist class dining room of a cheap cruise ship, and you have something of the horror of the experience. For €45 a head you can expect better than a wan hamburger like the interior of a nasty Frankfurter. Or a lump of fish that tastes of nothing. You might even expect a tempting choice of puddings. We vowed on the first night never to return, and always ate better, and cheaper too.

The only possible explanation for the dining experience is that most people here are on packages and have no choice. (Indeed, we spoke to one couple so horrified they tried to come off half board, but their company wouldn't let them.) Sorrento has lots of restaurants, of course, so it's not a huge deal to eat out. But the main square is about a mile distant, so the poor dinner experience here really is a negative. Which is a real shame: improve dinner (even the lunch is fine), and this could really be a top-class all-rounder.

Room Tip: Go for the upper floors

Lovely hotel. Staff was accommodating and helpful. Our room overlooked the hotel entrance with a sliver of a view of the sea in the background. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean. Enjoyed our own wine and drinks on the balcony and the staff was kind enough to supply glasses. We tripped a circuit breaker on one occasion and the staff beat me back to the room to fix it. There were some ants in the room, but again, quickly addressed by the hotel.

Breakfast buffet was the best compared to the other hotels during our visit to Florence and Rome.

No reason to not enjoy the comforts, views, and amenities of this hotel.

Had a fantastic holiday on half board in October. Superb hotel, very clean in fact everything is pristine white; fabulous views, food to die for, room was great as were the staff. Highlight was the free bathing platform giving easy access to the sea. The indoor lounge is huge with comfortable chairs, a grand piano, a few antiques and an art gallery. Indoor restaurant is also first class and the huge glass windows offer great sea views with Vesuvius dominating the skyline. There are also plenty of outdoor sitting areas and a nice swimming pool. To sit on that terrace or around that pool with that view is just fantastic. What more could anyone ask for?

Well, cheaper drinks might be nice or even a “happy hour.” A lot of people mentioned that the vegetables were not very hot and the coffee was not great.

Apart from that the hotel is outstanding. The holiday was like a dream come true. We would certainly come back here again especially in peak season when we can hopefully eat breakfast and/or evening meal outside. I’m going to try to add a couple of short videos which may paint a thousand words.

Verdict – Fabulous hotel, as good as it gets.

Room Tip: We had a rear-facing, upper floor, mountain view room which wasn't bad.
