We picked this hotel after reading the good reviews and weren't disappointed. The staff were great and the food was fantastic, my 11 year old son always found something he enjoyed, the only complaint would be the starters were so large he couldn't manage a main course. Walked into and out of Sorrento through the olive groves - great for spotting lizards ( arranged to catch the bus back if we walked in after dinner though ) and traveled by train to Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius - Thank you to previous reviewers for their excellent and detailed descriptions which made it extremely easy. Visited the sister hotel ( not an awful lot down there ) but nice to have a swim in the sea. The hotel is being completely refurbished over the winter and where some parts of the hotel ( carpets and curtains etc ) were dated, I hope they don't spoil the beautiful charm this hotel offers.
One upset to the holiday though was we had some euros stolen from the safe in the room which on our return discovered had been a problem with other guests over the summer season. It wouldn't stop us returning to the hotel but would not be using the safe again, so beware !
If you are visiting this holiday next year read the previous reviews as they are full of excellent information about the local area, trips by local transport ( which saves so much money )

Room Tip: We had a room on the back of the hotel which was quieter and caught the sun during the day. The main...

This hotel is having a refurb so will be a total different hotel when finished .. But our holiday was fantastic. The food at lunch time was to die for .. Little different all inclusive evening menu but everything tasted good! Peppe runs the ship in the evening and he is an amazing guy. Makes sure everything is ok right down to pizza for the children and chips to boot ! Rooms cleaned everyday fresh towels everyday .. I asked twice for towels at the pool side but there wasn't any and it wasn't busy as it was October half term but saying that we didn't mind to much! Trips out a must if you want to see sorrento which is a stunning place to visit .. Roads are taken at your own risk! Shuttle bus is a great service into sorrento and on time always .. But book day before as it gets booked up! Great holiday and will,go,back again ..just to,see what's changed !

Visited 17th to 27th September 2013. Although initially dubious about all inclusive having had bad experiences elsewhere. We need not have worried, the restaurant was the jewel in the crown of the Atlantic Palace. The food was excellent with a wide choice, coupled with great service from Pepe, Michel and the the team. We were in the annexe on the ground floor and thankfully had no problems. The pool is small and could get busy and noisy. There is the option of going to the beach at the sister hotel on the shuttle bus, plenty of sun beds a large pool and crystal clear sea!
One of the highlights of our stay was a private boat charter trip with Vervece Charter, our party of 7, had exclusive use of a small skippered boat for a cruise to Positano. Our skipper took us to caves, islands, beaches and Positano. He gave us a light lunch and limoncello all cheaper than on the coach!

Very good all inclusive experience with very efficient staff and good service. Food quality good. Only draw back is that to get to the centre of Sorrento requires using transport unless you are brave enough to tackle busy and dangerous roads and a hill.
Would recommend the hotel.

We came here in July for a week as a friend was getting married in Sorrento. We chose the hotel as it was all inclusive and we knew how expensive the area was and booked through Thomas Cook. We were given a room in the annexe which was nice, if not a little dated with a tiny balcony and a free safe - overall pleased. The pool was nice but full of children, which is great if you have them otherwise its not great. The food is amazing, breakfast is standard buffet breakfast, lunch is amazing with a salad buffet, barbeque with fresh meat, fish and vegetables and there is a fresh pizza oven and an ice cream counter. Evening meal was equally delicious with 4 courses per night with plenty of choice and full table service. The drinks were all branded which is rare in a all inclusive hotel of this rating. The waiters were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. I would have given this a 5 but there were a few robberies in the annexe where we stayed from locked safes which the staff tried to brush off so it put a bit of a downer on things, overall though an amazing holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building, you will get better views and a larger room.

Recently returned from a week at this hotel, and must agree with the majority of reviews written. Service was great, staff friendly and always helpful, special mention to catello at the pool bar. Pepe runs the restaurant like a well oiled ship, you really miss him when he is not there, as the service is'nt half as good. Rooms are spacious and very clean, they are cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding supplied. Our view was however was not great, a tour bus for the majority of the week, we do sometimes like to sit on the balcony and have a relaxing drink in the evening, not worth the bother here, to noisy. Food on the whole is very good, ok it is not a proper english breakfast, bacon fatty, sausages hot dog type, but you are in Italy, you can have your eggs cooked how you wish and there is a great deal of choice, in fact there is so much choice, you will never go hungry. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is a little out of town, about a fifteen minute walk, half of which there is no pavement, it really is'nt a problem if you are aware and stay single file, however be careful of your bags and people on scooters as we did see a couple of lads on scooters try to steal a ladies bag as they rode past. The hotel bus is really good, always on time, it is best to book the day before but as with everything else at this hotel if they can fit you in they will. View from the rooftop terrace is amazing. Entertainment is very poor however, we met some lovely people there and really enjoyed their company, people are always happy to help you plan your trips, using their experiences (even the reps say do them all yourself).

Room Tip: High floor rooms and rooms at the back must be quieter

A friend and I returned to the Atlantic Palace, for a 10 day holiday, (4-10 October) We had such a fantastic time last year we just had to return. Once again we travelled with First choice, all inclusive. We had requested the same room which we were allocated last year, and the hotel were more than happy to oblige. We arrived well in time for our lunch on the terrace. This we thought was better than last year, with much more self service choice, rather than the lunchtime menu choice of last year. There was hot, cold, salad, BBQ plus various sweets and FANTASTIC! ice cream.
After lunch, we made our way to our room. A high, sea view room with great views of Vesuvio and the Bay of Naples. We had noticed that a few tree tops in the wooded area across the road had been cut, making the view a little better still. Our room was very clean and fresh. (The bedding was changed at regular intervals during or stay) The bathroom was very clean, with fresh towels, and they were changed every day of our stay. One thing that was missing last year was a bath mat. (The bottom of the bath was a little slippy) This year one was provided.
Before dinner, we made the short walk uphill, to the village shop. Only 200-300yds away, but be careful on the road, no footpath, and a little bit hairy, but all in the Italian spirit of things!! From the shop, which also sells the local bus tickets, there are a couple of start points for some local walks, a Roman temple being one of them. There is also a walk to Sorrento from a path by the side of the Atlantic Palace which avoids the main road, but we walked into Sorrento a few times via the main road, and with care we found it OK.
Before dinner we sat in the hotel bar. There had been a few changes here too with the seating, and was a little better laid out than last year. The bar staff were all friendly, and as all inclusive we examined the bar menu before deciding on our drink. After that we retired to get ready for our first evening meal of the holiday.
Changed and refreshed we arrived at the restaurant. Pepe was still in charge. He greeted us as usual with the strong handshake, and after a little conversation with Michel, they both realised that we were back from last year. We were made very welcome, and shown to our seats. The evening meal consists of a massive salad bar, with parma ham, meats, fish, bread etc and this is self-service. Then comes anti-pasta. DON'T ask for a small one, as I'm afraid they don't know the meaning of the word!! This is ordered and brought to you as is the main course. These two courses have about 6-7 choices each, so there is always something for the fussy/non-adventurous eater like myself. Then if you have enough room for a sweet there is a selection of cakes and fancies plus ice cream and fresh fruit. Lemon sorbet is also worth a try. Very tangy and served in half a shelled out lemon. Drinks can also be requested at the table. We must say a big thank you to the waiter Antonino. What a hard worker.
After dinner, time to retire to the bar area, lobby, or the outside area frequented by smokers. The simple entertainment consists of a player on an electric organ. Pleasant tunes to unwind from the adventures of the day.
Before I end my essay, we must also thank Pascale, the driver of the very handy shuttle bus. Always on time, always very pleasant, and a great driver.
We thoroughly enjoyed our return stay this year, and look forward to returning to the Atlantic Palace in the not too distant future. We hope all the renovations to the hotel all go to plan, and hope that the charisma of the hotel and the staff remain the same over the coming years.

Room Tip: Higher front rooms for views of the sea. Back rooms, sunnier balconies in the day.
