We went to the atlantica in August 2013 we travelled as a family one 15 year old and an 11 year old. Two adults .I have travelled to sorrento on two other occasions and stayed at other 4star hotels . Luckily we only ever intended to use this hotel as a base as we were sightseeing . On arrival the entrance had a rather dirty mat and ash trays overflowing. . The stairs looked as though they needed cleaning (I did tell them this and someone promptly began hoovering ) not something a guest arriving should have to do ! Our room was small very dated with one bed poking out beyond the French doors . I have read that the hotel has had a make over ,I hope so . Other areas were ok but not in my opinion 4star . The food was fine and varied ,pool area small ,but we only used it twice as we were out sightseeing it was clean . The worst area were the hotel loos ! One basin with Tap out of order and paper on floor and not to clean , we went back to our room if we needed the loo while downstairs . The staff were helpful ,Sorrento is lovely lots of small streets called Drains ! To wander around and the hotel did provide a bus in during the day ., and at night . Sorrento buzzes with life and the views are amazing . August is hot for sightseeing when we went in May it was quieter and cooler. Pompeii was loved by all our guide Peppi was wonderful take water and a hat there is no shade . Also. If you are a pensioner or child take a passport most sights let you in free or a reduced price.we took the trip to Capri a lovely day out and we took the opportunity to wander on our own, in the afternoon we took an optional boat trip around the island the views from the boat were lovely well worth the money especially on a hot day .. The day in Rome is long but it gives you a taste of the eternal city . you could either visit the Vatican wich we had done before or Trevi fountain ,Spanish steps and wander back . There was a chance also to visit the colloseum. .every one enjoyed the day . We did spend one day down on the sister hotels beach it was ok don't expect fab beach ,the day was restful and again the views getting there amazing ! The whole family enjoyed the holiday sorrento is well worth a visit with older children who can appreciate its history . No I won't be back to this hotel Yes I will visit sorrento again .

The hotel is ok and staff are very friendly and helpful I felt that it is a victim of its very high trip adviser ratings I was expecting a very high standard . The food was adequate but average and the beds were very hard the staff were an asset to the hotel and the waiter service was good .The overall impression was if you don't expect too much you won't be disappointed

The hotel is clean and well kept, rooms cleaned daily.

The Restaurant staff are great and Pepe runs a very tight ship! The food was excellent with menu service in the evenings. There is a wine list to choose from on the all inclusive and they do lovely ice creams if you ask. We enjoyed every meal but fussy eaters or children may struggle.

The bar staff are great and the choice of drinks extensive, but the bar gets very busy in the evenings and there is often a long que.

It was a little disappointing that the renovation work had not been completed as we were told it would be when we booked it. They are building hot tubs and what looks like a bar and terrace area.

The pool area has limited space and it is a shame that the terraces on the 3rd -4th floors don't have a bar as the views from there are stunning!

The hotel overall is a good base to explore the area and the walk into Sorrento is not as bad as other reviewers have stated.

The rooms are noisy and I would advise a room on the 2nd floor up. We were on the 2nd floor at the front of the hotel and did not find the road noise a problem.

The trips through the rep are expensive and it is very easy to do them yourselves. Pompeii was only 4 euros return on the train and the station is right outside!

The reception staff could be better and were on a few occasions unhelpful.
We were lucky to make our flight on the way home as the receptionist sent our transport away!

We would return to Sorrento but would stay in the town next time.

I have never ever reviewed a hotel before whilst still on holiday, but I have got 5 minutes to spare and couldn't wait to share this one with you.
We came to Sorrento for a wedding and as our usual holiday consist of family all inclusive places we was a bit sceptical about this one before we arrived.
How wrong could we be, this is probably without doubt the best all inclusive hotel we have ever been to, the staff are absolutely amazing and cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble, the pool area is awesome, I was worried beforehand that it might be small and not get much sun, but it is literally a sun trap all day and the pool is brilliant for cooling off, the pool bar is open all day and the bar man is fantastic, really goes out of his way to get to know you and look after you and your family, again nothing is too much trouble, the food at Breakfast, lunch and evening is some if the best I have ever had in a hotel, and if there isn't something on the menu then all you have to do is ask particularly if you have children, and they will do it for you, there is a courtesy bus to take you to the centre of Sorrento it's not very far but walking on the roads would be dangerous.
The drinks in the hotel are fantastic they do not cut corners on anything, if you want a bottle of wine then you can have a bottle of wine, it isn't a problem, I will challenge anyone to find a fault with the service, food and staff at this hotel, I have been to some amazing places over the years and have paid a lot more than I paid for this one and have not had better service than this. If you are looking for a friendly, quality, relaxing hotel in Sorrento then believe me don't look any further, they have also just opened another area for sunbathing during the day that also has 3 large hot tubs to relax in.
I can't think of anymore words to convince people so please take my word for it and if you disagree with anything I have put then please let me know.

We were all inclusive thankfully and the food choices were wonderful. Dining room staff were fantastic and a delight to deal with, very friendly and attentive. Bedrooms were spacious and cleaned thoroughly weekly. Fresh towels provide, bathroom and bedroom tidied daily. Take all your toiletries as they supply theirs only once. It is not all inclusive as we know it, as meals are set at fixed times and as a previous reviewer noted, there is little on offer if you miss meals out. We were out most days and didn't make it back for lunch and there were cold pizza and sad sandwiches on offer. There was a great deal of external work going on,which will be very beneficial to future guests. This work should have been finished prior to our holiday but poor weather caused delays. The bar staff worked extremely hard to serve guests but were clearly understaffed. One evening there was a line of over twenty guest waiting to be served. I spoke to the three reception staff standing watching the bar staff been swamped who eventually got a dining staff member to assist. Found reception staff unhelpfully.

Room Tip: Rooms at back of hotel were the best for sunshine and caught the sun for most of the day. Front hote...

stayed from 12th to 19th may 2014, wish it was longer, a great base to explore italy, room was large and clean, powerful shower, big bed, fridge, tv, hair dryer, safe, lots of plug sockets, air con,
Only negative about room was no kettle to make tea or coffee, hotel was lovely, staff helpful, food was good, drinks were free flowing, would stay here again in a heart beat, was mini bus into town but need to book, and a walk at the side of the hotel down to town a bit steep but beats the road if you want to walk, also a cove close by nice walk down but hard coming back up, walk uphill to american bar the follow the track down its amazing worth a look and if your lucky there is a bar open at the bottom along a wooden walk way, my advice if with a holiday company is do your own trips you'll save a packet, train very good and cheap, so is but and most people very helpful,

Room Tip: the higher the better we were on 1st floor above restaurant and reception and could be a little nois...

We have just returned from this excellent hotel yesterday. After experiencing many A.I. hotels around the world this is certainly the best in Europe. The rooms [newly refurbished] food quality and choice of drinks can't be bettered. The staff are always happy to provide you with your every need. The only thing we didn't like was being unable to go for a walk after dinner as the hotel is situated on a busy road with no pavements. There is currently three jacuzzis and a spa being constructed in the garden which were being worked on when we first arrived, but work appeared to have stopped for the last few days. The lack of this facility which should have been completed was a cause for complaint by some people, but didn't bother us as we were out most days visiting the many sites and local towns which were easily accessable by public transport and local tour operators. What First Choice want to charge is roughly double, so do it yourself. If we were visiting this area again we would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Best room was 307 or 207 as you get the last of the sun
