I've read a few of these reviews and thought I would add my two cents. The latest reviewer is correct about the breakfast. The assortment of cakes, fresh eggs, rolls and the service are splendid. The hotel itself is grand--really really nice. The staff for the most part are helpful and friendly. But...
Like a previous poster stated, they do seem to nickel and dime you to death. Free internet--but not in your room? Really?
3 Euro for a beach towel you reuse your whole stay?
Pool closes at 7pm and you cannot bring your own drinks and snacks forcing you to buy overpriced drinks from a couple of guys who ONLY smile when talking or joking to one another--never at any of the guests (trust me I watched them for three days).
The sign on the refrigerator DOES say that you will be charged if you kept food in it. I don't think I was charged for keeping food in it, but the sign was there nonetheless.
The main problem I had with the hotel in the distance from the main part of town. The sidewalk in a few areas in very narrow and at times the traffic is bad. Granted, its not real far, but we felt the need to take a cab to the train station when we left rather than drag our luggage next to the busy street. The main plaza is where you really want to be and there are a whole lot of hotels in that area.
Don't get me wrong, I think the manager and most of the staff (the guys at the pool need a lot of work in hospitality) are helpful, and all the extras for our three night stay amounted to an additional 15 Euros, but the early closing time of the pool (7pm in July?) and the inability to bring a bag of chips or a couple of beers, along with the distance from the center of town rules this hotel out for me in the future. And honestly, if you don't have a room facing the rear, or are literally standing at the back of the property, the view of the ocean you see in all the pictures is non existent.
Oh, and did I tell you those guys at the pool need to learn how to interact with the guests better?
