“Great Hotel in a good location and family friendly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2011

We recently stayed here on our family holiday for 14 nights. The hotel is in a great location situated right in the centre of town with a very easy stroll to the bustling centre of Sorrento. However, the pool is very peaceful and relaxing on the sun loungers you would never imagine you are in a town centre location. The staff are great and were very helpful at all times especially Mario round the pool who is a font of information on Sorrento and the surrounding area. When we arrived we were in room 107 which is nice but a bit dark so we asked to be moved and this was done the next day in a polite curtious and efficient way - well done to the reception staff. The breakfast is ok but not much hot food but still all lovely and fresh and plenty of fruit and pastries and michelle and the team will make different coffees on request..Again the staff in the dining room were great. The pool area is lovely too and the lunches were very good and great value. The room are quite traditional but spotless and the maid service was fantastic ( we found the pillows hard and asked for some softer ones which appeared instantly). Throughout, this hotel is spotless and the service second to none. We were with our 11 year old son who had a fantastic time both sightseeing and at the hotel where he made lots of friends. The hotel is also ideallt situated for the train and bus station when your heading out to see the sights and we were also impressed with the trips we arranged via our holiday comapny - Classic Holidays who had great guides on all the trips we booked, although we also used local public transport quite a bit and this is easy to find and use for sights like Pompeii and Amalfi Coast. All in all a great holiday and we would highlyrecommend the Antiche Mura if you are visiting this area.

Room Tip: Avoid 107 ( a bit dark and next to kitchen/breakfast room and public loo's ) 304 is a nice famil...

My husband and I and our two teenage boys returned to the Antiche Mura Hotel on the occasion of our silver wedding anniversary. We had stayed there the year before and had a fantastic time.
Francesco, the taxi driver we met last year, met us at the airport, and on hearing that it was our silver wedding telephoned the hotel. When we arrived there, not only were we greeted like old friends, but had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. Our boys had a lovely plate of fruit and a "welcome back" note waiting in their room.
The reception staff are very helpful - nothing is too much trouble and a special mention must go to Michelle who works in the breakfast room and by the pool.
The rooms were clean and comfortable . The only very slight criticism is that there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and, as last year, we found the bed rather hard compared to what we are used to.
If you need a taxi driver we recommend Francesco. He is a pleasure to be with and very knowledgable about the local area. The highlight of our trip was his taxi ride to Ravello, up in the mountains with stunning views!
thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable.

The hotel is excellent, its staff all giving very good customer service. I think the housekeeping service at the Antiche Mura is the best of any hotel we've stayed at. The location is central but peaceful with a lovely pool area. We particularly enjoyed people watching while sipping prosecco at the Bar Ercolano in Piazza Tasso on a couple of evenings. We also made good use of the hotel's restaurant recommendations. Definitely recommended.

everything about this hotel was fab! Staff could not have been better - most helpful and kind in all their dealings with us. They recommended trips and restaurants - even making bookings for us. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast, which was included in price, was gorgeous and here again the staff were brilliant - especially Michelle from England.
Thanks again everyone - we will recommend your hotel to everyone....x

Room Tip: rooms in Antiche Mura were lovely - spotless and very comfortable

Antiche Mura is the hotel to stay in Sorrento. The staff Maria Laura, Antonio, Michelle, Assunta and Mario are all wonderful. They make sure you are always happy and satisfied.
The hotel organized our pick up at the airport, which turned out to be a pleasant ride. Our driver Francesco was friendly and kind. He also was our driver for our Amalfi Coast Tour. He took us to Positano, Ravello, Amalfi and made sure to stop so we could take beautiful pictures. They aslo organized our Capri tour by boat. Again wonderful! Our guide and driver Luigi and Guido were great!! The kids had a great time swimming in the Grottas. They also had Caprese sandwiches for us, drinks etc. Unforgettable. We asked for suggestions on restaurants, all great. La Basilica, Vela Bianca and Il Buffalitto. They were great but Il Buffalitto was my favorite. I miss the antipasto with mixed cheeses and meats and the stuffed peppers the owner's mom made. Simply a charming, unique restaurant.

The hotel location is perfect. Wakling distance to the main Paizza, shops and restaurants.
The rooms are spacious, clean and confortable. The breakfast was perfect
and the pool area was quiet and chaming. Surrounded by lemon trees and flowers.
Just relaxing.

Writing this makes me just want to go back. Hope to be back soon.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 delightful days.
Aside of being very close to the train and bus and ferries for day touring, it's only a five minute walk to the old town market area as well as some great restaurants. Our room was spotless and well equipped. The pool is a lovely thought to come home to, after a day out in the Sorrento / Amalfi sun There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided, and done so very well.
I think though that the biggest rave for this hotel was the excellent staff. Aside of always being friendly, cheerful and happy to offer a solution to any problem, we thank them sincerely for going totally out of their way with sorting out a booking issue (our fault totally!) with absolute professionalism and not even a bit the fuss we would have expected from most hotels
We have traveled extensively and this hotel is the very best we have experienced to date in Italy.
