The Hotel Residence Miramare was an incredible place to stay! Our rooms had an absolutely incredible view of Vesauvius and the Mediterranean Sea. We couldn't have been more pleased with everything about this hotel. The rooms were attractive and comfortable. The hotel staff couldn't have been any nicer or more accommodating. Our only problem was having to leave this beautiful place with the most gorgeous view we have ever seen!

Room Tip: Our rooms opened directly outside to an incredible view, I would definitely ask for one of these ro...

First let me advise anyone booking this hotel on line. Make sure that it is paid for. We booked this hotel in February and we specifically through e-mails asked for the balcony with view on the golf of Naples. When we arrived at the hotel in July, they told us that they did not have this room even though I showed them the e-mails of the confirmation of the bookings with what we had asked. We were very disappointed. They offered to change the next day. They also told my wife that the reason we didn’t get it was because we didn’t pay for it when we booked it. Looks like they give the extras to those that pay when booking rather than pay for it after your stay is done as we are accustomed to. We also had issues with ants. So we were forced to move. They eventually gave us the room we asked for from the beginning. The rooms are very spacious clean and the washrooms are very nice. Breakfast was very good. The location is not the best, if you don't mind walking 20 minutes to the center. I would suggest they get some kind of shuttle especially the walk back as it's all up hill. They do have busses but in the evening it’s a long wait. Don’t listen to anyone telling you that the bus wait is only 5 or 10 minutes. IT’S NOT. WATCH out for the cars.....as soon as you walk out the doors there is no walk way for pedestrians. Its main doors are located right at a bend of the road, and the cars all ZOOM by. Be very careful.. The staff is very nice and they are very informative and eager to help. I would not be going back to this Hotel though because of poor on line booking and location of the hotel.

Room Tip: for the value as for balcony with view of the Golf of Naples.....Breathtaking. First floor rooms ar...

Great hotel in Sorrento. Not a far walk from the main centre. All staff are incredibly nice and helpful at all times. The ocean view rooms were beautiful with a decent size balcony. The room was very big with a nice bathroom and even without the airconditioner on the room was still quite cool. Great to have a fridge and kitchen facilities. It is clean in all areas and the breakfast that is included is great with a wide selection of pastries, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats, toast, everything really and the view whilst eating breakfast is perfect. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and would recommend travelling to the beautiful and friendly town of Sorrento

We were looking forward to this hotel because this the only 4 star hotel we were staying in on our 15 days through italy, but alas we were left quite disappointed. If this pegged as a 2-3 start hotel, i would have given this place a better review and said it definitley met the standards.

It is a very nice place to stay, the rooms were very very spacious but definitely not 4 star quality. Upon reaching our room, we realised they had given us 2 single beds rather than a queen or king size bed as we had requested. When we asked the receptionist she initially out rightly refused to do anything about it and said thats what the reservation says. We had to argue a bit with them before they said that they convert our bed into a Queen sized bed. Although it worked out fine in the end, i think they could have handled this better.

The breakfast spread is pretty decent and the chocolate croissants were brilliant!! The wine at the restaurant is phenomenally cheap and is great place to start the night. The view from the pool is absolutely breathtaking. A tip, got to the roof top above the bar and watch the sunset from there.

All in all this place is pretty decent with big and clean rooms and a good breakfast, but it is definitely not a 4 star hotel

We (2 adults, 2 children aged 9 and 12) spent 4 nights in one of the apartments at Hotel Residence Miramare. It is in a very scenic location, we had views over the port of Sorrento from our apartment.
The apartment was spacious and had very high ceilings (it felt a little as though we were staying in a monastery!). There was a double bed in one room, and 2 single beds in the (other) main room with the TV. It had a nice, large bathroom with a shower over the bath. There was plenty of complimentary soap and shampoo. It also had a small kitchenette with a microwave, small fridge and a set of hotplates.
The air conditioning in the apartment broke down on our 3rd night there. We reported this to reception and they offered us another room for that night (with a working airconditioner). We did not accept their offer but in retrospect probably should have as it became quite hot and stuffy that night. The aircon was fixed the next day. Full points to the hotel for following up on our issue and promptly fixing the problem.

Breakfast was good - fresh fruit, pastries, toast, yoghurt, juices, cereals, coffee, tea, herbal tea.

The swimming pool has a great view over the Bay of Sorrento and there are plenty of sunchairs. The flowers in the garden bed and pots around the hotel are beautiful.

It takes about 10 - 15 minutes to walk from the hotel to Sorrento town.

The only real negative with this hotel is that the entrance is directly onto a sharp corner, so you need to be very careful when exiting and re-entering. There is not much in the way of a footpath, I would not like to do it with a stroller or with very young children.

The car exit from the hotel's parking area is also directly onto a blind corner - very scary!! We found it best to blow the horn before exiting by car, and I must say that I was relieved when we made that exit safely for the final time at the end of our stay!

We stayed at Miramare for a couple of days with my husband and another couple.

Relaxed hotel!

Breakfast was substantial and you will have plenty of the typical Italian breakfast choices. (Croissants, cheese, ham, yogurt). Coffee was just okay.

The rooms were clean, the staff were helpful in getting us cabs and they were just helpful overall.

Just dont rely on timeliness for the cabs/car rentals. They have their own times and their schedules and they dance to their own drum!

We were with our friends who flew in from Milan and it did help that they spoke italian, we were able to ask for a locals dinner spot

Emilias! AMAZING! and soooo affordable! have the Pacheri Pasta - local to the region.

We stayed here because of so many good reports and we were not disappointed. The hotel is very clean, welcoming and great view. We stayed in the family room with balcony as this was offered as an alternative to the two bedroom that we had booked. So glad we stayed in the room with the balcony as it was well used with the home cooked meas overlooking the view. The kitchenette is small but we coped. Thank goodness my husband's tall as he could reach the facilities. The bathroom is large and good just the shower water ran a little off the bath and went on the floor but enough towels to deal with. The staff were lovely great with advice and more than happy to assist with arrangements. The kids loved the pool and so nice to cool down and appreciate the view. Thanks for making our stay perfect.
