Johanna Park was an awesome place to stay. We are a family of four and our boys are 12 and 13 years old. We stayed four nights in July. Our room was on the second floor and was very spacious and clean. There were large windows in our room that opened up so the room was bright and airy. We had amazing views of the water and the sunsets in the evening were spectacular. You can tell Johanna and her staff are very proud of their hotel and want to give you 5 star type service.

We spent most of our time away from the hotel but when we were there our boys enjoyed running around the grounds. Johanna let them pick fresh lemons and make lemonade. The pool area is small but very relaxing and they have an area were you can get drinks. Breakfasts were very good. The gentleman who handles the dining area would always offer to have fried eggs made if we didn't want the scrambled eggs they put out. We ate dinner at the hotel one night and it was good. My 13 year old said it was the best ravioli he had in Italy. We also ate at their restaurant in town and I'm not kidding when I say it was one of the best meals we had during our three weeks in Italy.

The hotel seems to host a lot of tour groups and we were worried about the noise of several people all getting up early and the big buses coming and going. We really didn't notice any major problems. We do however sleep with ear plugs when at hotels just in case of noise issues.

The hotel is pretty far from town. I made the mistake of taking a taxi from the train station and paid way too many euros for the trip. Don't make that mistake. Take the bus if you can figure out the right one or call the hotel and find out about their free shuttle. We took the shuttle to and from town the rest of our trip and it worked out great. We missed it one time and they came back and got us. They also took us directly to the train station when we needed it. Again, the service was excellent!

Of all the hotels we stayed at during our three weeks in Italy this one really stood out because of the views, relaxing grounds, quality of the room and most of all the service. If we come back to Sorrento we will stay here.

The Hotel was very clean & comfortable. The owner & staff were very helpful. The free mini bus service from the Hotel to Sorrento was excellent & although we had a car we often used this service. Breakfast was ample. Beautiful area & lovely views from the Hotel. We would definitely return to this Hotel.

We loved this place!! The owner, Johanna, was so sweet! She did everything she could to make us feel at home. This hotel is slightly outside of the city of Sorrento, but it has great views of the ocean, some pretty gardens, and a free shuttle that will take you to Sorrento. From Johanna Park, we took a day trip to Positano, and the SITA bus stops right outside of the hotel entrance, which was nice, and takes you right to Positano. Our SITA bus ended up catching on fire a few miles from the hotel and Johanna sent someone to come pick us up in a car, so sweet! The hotel is very quiet and relaxing. It's clean, new, has a bathtub, free wi-fi, computers, pool, restaurant. It had everything we could have needed at a great price. Also, in Sorrento, be sure to go to Buffalito Inn for dinner--reasonable prices, great food!

We stayed at this hotel as part of Trafalgar tours. It's really in the middle of no where. It's on a hill far from the town center and not easy to go for a walk anywhere. The room was nice but the bathroom bathtub had no shower curtain or glass to stop the water from going every where. After checking in we went to the front desk and we told them about missing shower curtain and we were told this is normal for European hotels. I told them we've traveled to many towns and cities in Europe and this was a first. They said to call the front desk and someone would mop the floor after we had taken a shower.
Also the room was facing the back, so we had a view of the vertical rocky hill and nothing else. Not too impressed.
So we took a shower and the bathroom floor was really slippery with water all over the place. We called them up and they took 30 minutes to come by but they go it mopped up. Next morning, same thing happened and we called them to let them know. We went for breakfast, and came back, and still no one came to mop the floor. But we left for the day and we knew someone would come by to clean up.
BTW - breakfast was probably the worst out of the whole tour in Italy.
That evening after tours we were sweaty so we took another shower and called front desk. This time no one showed up. I guess the knew by now that we'd be checking out the next morning so they did not want to send anyone. The floors were really slippery that evening but we had no choice but to let it dry over night. After next morning shower we didn't bother calling them since we were checking out.
If I ever visited Sorrento again I'd never stay here. And since no one else would stay here I bet this is why Trafalgar books here.
