We stayed here for three weeks in June, wanting to experience Italian life, and this charming little casa certainly fulfilled that wish! Maria is a charming, helpful and friendly host. She spoeaks a little English, but I have some Italian, and together, we had no problems. The little cottage is set in Marias own garden which is mainly lemon grove, with plenty of outside seating. The house consists of a large living area/ kitchen, with full oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and all the utensils you could need. A big bedroom, with queen size bed, bunk beds for families, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. There is a tv in the bedroom. The bathroom has a tub with shower over, basin, wc and bidet. There is a washing machine in the bathroom.
Our only downside was the steep hill from the centre of Sorrento, but it's only 500m. And we managed it sometimes twice a day..and we are both in our sixties! The station is just down the hill, as is the centre.
It was Maria who made our holiday though, she was unobtrusive, but always available if we neded her. She offered to do some shopping for us, she gave us freshly picked cherries and plums from her gardern, and left us a bottle of her homemade wine as a welcome gift. She picked us up from the station, and took us back when we left.
Il Limoneto di Laura is in a resdidential area, and was a lovely, quiet retreat after a day of sightseeing and shopping!
