“"Beautiful Entrance Foyer!"”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

My husband and I just stumbled upon this area on our tour down Corso Italia, down to Piazzo Tasso and along Tasso Square. The colorful frescoes over the entrance way are gorgeous. I had read that some of the people of Sorrento would be sitting at the tables playings hands of cards, but no one was here that day...sorry to say. A must see...very beautiful!

“One of the worlds unknown great wonders”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

For three hundred years, the noble families of Sorrento, and their descendents, have set up a presepe in the town seat, a building that dates back to the 1400's, the beginning of the town. The people are about 12 inches tall and although there is a manger scene , it is actually dwarved by the mountain and village scenes contained within the diorama. Every village activity is represented, from the vegetable cart to the butcher shop, the shepherd shearing his sheep and flower seller hawking her goods.

“Good Entrance Dome fresco”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

Situated in the small back streets known as the "Drains", the entrance dome has a nice fresco but today when we called the gate was locked so could not get in, on other visits we have seen Sorrento pensioners sat about chatting or playing draughs or chess in the foyer, will go back later in our holiday to try and get to see inside and read about the history, worth looking out for if you are walking the "Drains" of Sorrento.

“Remember to stop”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

Easy to walk right by, but do take a minute and read the multi language legend that describes what used to be the meeting place of the aristocrats to discuss politics and religion and is now a workers meeting place. Right in the heart of the twisting winding cobblestone streets filled with the tourist shops!

“Beautiful Entrance Foyer”
Reviewed 26 March 2013

We discovered this place whilst walking down the laneway to our accommodation. We were very impressed with the entrance foyer with its colourful frescoes. It was being used that day by choral singers so we could not get a good look inside. Good photo opportunity.
