This family run Hotel exudes friendliness and could give other establishments a lesson in customer service. Nothing was too much trouble; perfectly mixed Gin and Tonics sitting on the terrace or by the pool, evening meals on the terrace as the sun set, perfect!!!

The walk down to the town was great but I would recommend the bus back in summer temperatures!

We all agreed that we would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to visit the area.

My husband & I travelled with Riviera Travel and chose the hotel from reviews on Trip Advisor, we were not dissapointed. As we were celebrating a special birthday we requested and paid for a room with a sea view and were given room 1 on the ground floor. We were delighted it had a small balcony with table and chairs and had an amazing view of the Bay of Naples and vesuvius. The staff were very friendly and helped with any queries suggesting for example where we might find the best' Limoncello' a wonderful locally produced lemon alcoholic drink drunk ice cold. (Try one of the shops producing their own). The restaurant staff were very good and although the choice of food was limited to 3 choices for each course which you order at breakfast they accommodated my meal preferences (I'm vegetarian, another lady in our group was gluten intolerant but every day special bread was provided for her). We could not have wished for a better hotel and hope to return again one day.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1 which a previous reviewer found to be noisy, we found it to be delightful I beli...

We stayed here after reading TripAdvisor reviews and it was an excellent choice. We had a nice room with a balcony, not enormous but plenty of room for the three of us.

Breakfast was excellent, especially in the last few days when the terrace was made available.

We were on foot, but the 15 minute path down to the town centre was fine for us. One thing the hotel should od is have an explanation on their website of how to find this path, we walked round by the road on arrival which was a little harrowing.

The hotel was very quiet a nice haven away from the bustle of Sorrento, which we found preferable, I suspect some of the hotels in the centre of Sorrento would be noisy at night. We had originally planned to move on to Amalfi, but we were so happy with La Badia that we extended our stay and made it our base for exploring the coast.

It is a family run hotel and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. For example when we left a bag on the local bus they took the trouble to ring the bus company for us.

Excellent value for money given the area and highly recommended.

Lovely three star hotel with plenty of parking. Shortcut walk to town is great but as steep as other reviews mention- sensible shoes a must

One area of improvement is the optional evening meal. Staff are very proud of food but unfortunately in reality it is pretty average. Only when you cannot face the shortcut!

This was my fourth visit to La Badia and my fifth visit to Sorrento and the Naples region. I stayed between 24th to 31st May. The family have owned the property and olive estates around since 1929. I have always found the service to be excellent and if you have a complaint they take their business seriously and will very quickly try to remedy any short comings. For example a recent reviewer posted 'avoid room number 1!!. I have to inform that reviewer and anyone else reading, that since your stay the hotel has installed an extra sound proof lobby door so that anyone staying in room 1 should not be unduly disturbed.
The dining staff under Head waiter Antonio run a slick service at meal times with good humour and can adjust the menu if you have special dietary requirements. The views over the Bay of Naples and of course the back drop of Vesuvius are probably the best of any in Sorrento. This is due to the location and elevation of the site which is a little way out of the town on the Via Nastro Verde. La Badia is not a large impersonal hotel, some have called it 'quirky.' I would say that the conversion from its previous life has been done successfully. I stayed this visit in room 24 on the third floor in a modest, clean room with en suite and twin single beds, the only reservation I have was that I found the mattress quite hard but I am sure that had I required, a softer mattress would have been provided.

Room Tip: Because La Badia is a former Monastery and is a listed building all rooms therefore are not a standa...

stayed here for 6 nights from 21st may, neat and tidy and away from the noise, great views from our top floor room but no balcony. staff were very helpful breakfast was very good only downside was getting a hot pot of tea..dont stay if you cannot walk far as you may have to rely on taxi,s which will cost you 20 euros. Nice pool and lovely terraced area to sit and eat/drink although access to it is strange as you access it from the restaurant but the door does not allow you back in. would recommend staying but it was too quiet for us late at night.sleep was very peaceful at night till the cockerel wakes you at dawn

Room Tip: all balconies are on the ground floor but have large outside areas
