We absolutely loved Maison La Minervetta! We arrived in Sorrento after having spent 4 days in Paris. I didn't think anything or anywhere could compare, but it did. It is such a beautifully designed hotel with unique and gorgeous decor. It has such character! The owner has impeccable taste. The view from our room was breathtaking. Floor to ceiling windows revealed the gorgeous coast. The service was wonderful and you felt right at home. Breakast every morning was perfect and such an experience. We would love to come back and spend more time.

La Minervetta is THE perfect place to base yourself on the Amalfi Coast. Period. This lovely, lovely property is overlooks the Golfo di Napoli from a high perch just a few minutes walk from the town of Sorrento. Unlike at other hotels in the area, guests at La Minervetta are not dependent on a car service or taxi to visit town--they can hoof it! You can walk into town for a wonderful meal, gelato, a bit of shopping or to catch the train to Pompei (it stops right in front of the ruins), or a ferry to Capri!

The hotel is small, quiet, imaculate and eclectic. We reserved two rooms in two different price categories and each was a gem (this marked the first time I ever felt moved to take photos of a hotel room and I have stayed in many, many, many hotel rooms)! Our room occupied a corner with floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall windows overlooking the water on one side and two additional huge widows and a glass door opening to a small, secluded balcony on the other. Our children shared a smaller room that also overlooked the water through a wall of glass. The public spaces include patios, walkways and a huge open series of rooms that comprise a living room, dining spaces and the most colorful and amazing kitchen imaginable--all, again, with stunning views of the Bay of Napoli. In fact it's the whimsical, colorful furniture, tiles, tablecloths, dishes, glassware and ceramics that give this place its personality--and they're everywhere! Check out the hotel's website (www.laminervetta.com) and know that each photo is an accurate dipiction of what La Minervetta has to offer.

Every morning breakfast is served buffet-style out of the wonderful kitchen. You can choose from the cereals, fruits, juices, meats, cheeses, breads and sweets that are laid out or you can ask for eggs, omelets, pancakes or anything else your heart desires! They also know how to make a good cafe americano along with the expected espressos and cappiuccinos. There are snacks and teas available 24 hours a day and most evenings they lay out a spread that they refer to as a "snack" but that can take the place of dinner if you just want to hang out and put your feet up.

The service is warm and welcoming but absolutely professional. There is no need that cannot be met. La Minervetta arranged our car service to and from the airport in Naples (the wonderful Aldo runs the service and says he works only with La Minervetta) and a car and driver (Pasquale, who works for Aldo) to tour the Amalfi Coast for a day. One evening when our feet hurt too much to walk to town for dinner Aldo showed up to run us in to town "on him". Another night the staff called the owner of a small restaurant on the marino who picked us up and then drove us back after dinner!

Everything about this place is perfect and I cannot imagine returning to the Amalfi Coast and staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: There are no rooms that aren't good rooms.

I wholeheartedly agree with others' comments and would add that the hotel is so beautifully and cratively appointed that you feel you're in a modern art mini-museum. The staff could not have been more helpful with every aspect of our stay. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Room 9 provided a great corner view.

Every one has said it all. This is a beautiful place to stay with lovely views and beautiful rooms and communal area. Simply the place to stay to renew your energy levels. I showed a friend the website and he asked what's the chances that my room will look like that. Easy ... the whole place looks like that.

very special hotel.. one of those you wish you were still there once you leave. Fabulous accommodation personally and expertly put together by the owner who has evidently poured in his good taste and his heart into turning this small boutique hotel into an enchanting experience. The stunning view accompanies you in every room as the hotel looks straight onto the Vesuvius and the surrounding bay. The breakfasts are particularly abundant and tasty. Staff is friendly and helpful without being in the way.

Had a wonderful time here, only a short walk to the hustle & bustle of town. An oasis, when I return to Sorrento there can be no other place to stay. The views, the rooms, the wonderful staff ... I can fault nothing!

We really enjoyed our stay at this exceptional hotel. From the beautifully designed colorful interior spaces to the amazing views, the Minervetta exceeded our expectations. The staff was warm, friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast selections and setting were wonderful and the location is perfect - just a short stroll into town. We would highly recommend this very special place to anyone visiting Sorrento.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have two walls of windows making the views even more spectacular.
