“An absolute jewel”
Reviewed 6 April 2008

My wife and I have been to many hotels all over Italy and France, but we have never been so impressed before. This hotel is unique and remarkable. It is like staying in a modern art museum. Each detail so lovingly rendered, with such artistic integrity and love. The owners are a family, the hotel has been passed down, he is an architect, and we want him to come and decorate our house.

Frankly, words cannot do the hotel justice. Each room is unique, the main lobby and "living room" is so personal and welcoming. We only stayed two days, but wished we could have stayed weeks just soaking in the fantastical environment.

When we saw the pictures in the internet of the rooms, we figured these were the showcase rooms and ours would not compare, but they were magical. Carved into the side of a cliff, with monsterous picture windows looking out onto the Bay of Naples...

We cannot wait to return. The breakfast was as wonderful as the hotel. It is really a fantasy that cannot be recommended highly enough. Quite simply our favorite hotel in the world.

If you are going to Sorrento, don't consider anywhere else. If you aren't going to Sorrento, it is worth doing so to stay at this magical hotel.

Spent four nights here in March and just loved it. Everything about the hotel was fantastic. Where do I begin! The location with stunning views, our junior suite which I could have stayed in all day and been perfectly happy, the cool art everywhere, friendly and helpful staff, free parking, fantastic breakfasts. As near to perfect as possible for my tastes. They even provide you with your own laptop for use during your stay!

after finding this hotel by coincedence and reading all the reviews I couldnt wait to stay It was perfect as everyone has told...the only disapointment was the chairs on the balcony were taken in for the fall and so we could only have breakfast inside....sit in the lobby and read all the wonderful books.....take a hyrda foil to capri...one night we were too tired to go to town so we ate at a beautiful hotel accross the street which was set up for guests only yet they were very accomendating

We spent 5 nights of our honeymoon here at the Minervetta. What a gorgeous hotel! I can't say enough about the beautifully decorated rooms, the amazing views and the delicious breakfast spread prepared for you every morning. There's nothing like eating breakfast out on the patio overlooking the coast and Mt. Vesuvius in the distance. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The walk into town is not bad. We would do it twice a day sometimes. Sorrento is a good central point for visiting Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Pompeii. All in all, we loved the Minervetta!

We stayed at Minervetta for two nights late November and used it as a launching point from Capri, Amalfi, and Pompeii. The hotel was spectacular and exceeded all of our expectations. We had room 6 and the view to Vesvius is breathtaking and the rooms are immaculate. The breakfast spread is amazing and serves pretty much anything imaginable. We ran into a few rainy days that made the walk into Sorrento a little challenging but the view you get from the hotel more than offsets any negative effects. We were recommended Aldo by the hotel who took us for a six hour tour of Amalfi. This was the highlight of our trip and made it very memorable. We are looking forward for our next trip and booking a junior suite based on the numerous of favorable reviews.

We stayed at the Minervetta November 21-25, 2007. Hotel was absolutely amazing! The view was spectacular! Service was wonderful! The full american breakfast was just perfect! Our room was number 5 - you cannot beat the spectacular view of the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. It was just a fantastic stay, waking up to that unbelievable view of the fishing village below our window. The walk into town is a bit long for older people or a day of sight seeing (or too much drinking). We would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The decor is an architects dream. It is great to sit in the morning with new friends and exchange ideas over a home-made breakfast, and it is not as windy as our new friends from Chicago!!

this hotel is beyond beautiful , it is unique and incredible
everysingle room is exquisite in decor and every room has fabulous views i wish i had stayed two weeks staying 2 nights in every room!
i booked the junior suite which was amazing the best view and better than syrenuse ( positano) as you can lie in bed and see the sea its amazing. we went in november which is a cold month but the hotel was just the best for this as it was cosy yet extremely cheering with its fabulously invigorating decor which could only make you smile and wonder , in each tiny corner / nook and cranny of this hotel is hidden amazing delights to intrigue and when you spend time here and see the surrounding areas you start to understand the effort /energy that the owner /architect has put into this place and the relevance of the objects he has chosen to embellish this unique property . It is as if it was his own sitting room or bedroom.
i really cant recommend it enough , do go and please leave me space to go again though so dont book more than a day..........
