My husband and I spent a week in The Girasole in July and really enjoyed ourselves. The family are so friendly and helpful in every way. Our room was spotless, we really relaxed. Location was fine, we enjoyed the walk to town and always sat in the garden at night sipping our drinks in the peaceful surroundings. The swimming pool is beautifully set and the lunches and drinks were always served with a smile and a chat.... I would highly recommend this hotel.

This was our third year at Hotel Girasole and it was the best yet and we are planning to go back again next year. We love the hotel, the food and of course and most importantly the people, who really do make you feel as part of the family. David and Helena never stop encorporating dishes for me to try as not only am I a vegetarian but a i'm also a VERY fussy eater.. The children adore playing in the pool, which is very well maintained, especially after long days out.. Top notch hotel and top notch people...Stupendo..

We got married in Sorrento on the 2nd July 2010 and chose the Girasole for our 3 weeks stay. We arrived to be greeted by Rita who was very welcoming and spoke perfect english. She even took my wife's wedding dress home with her to lay out and keep safe. There is nothing ultra modern about the hotel, all of the rooms are very traditional but spotlessly clean. All of the staff are family so you get a genuine family welcome, which we really loved. The fresh flowers in our room was a lovely touch. Our first week was very quiet and peacefull, the pool was serene reading in the sun with a cold beer was the order of the day, which I suspect is how the Girasole usually is. Our second week was much busier as we had 20 of our guests coming to stay at the hotel. we had groups of singles, young familys and married couples. They were all made welcome and they were all catered for. Although there is no restaurant I would highly recomend the home cooked local specials provided at their regular evening parties and always offered by David at the pool. We love to explore and never go on expensive organised trips so The hotel was perfect again, It was close to 2 towns, The bus station, the train station and the marina. Rita is very knowledgable about the area and timetables and she is always happy to help. Also you can ask her about good restaurants and she will arrange for them to come and collect toy at the hotel

We will go back, It helped make our 3 weeks perfect.

My husband and I stayed here and I have to say we were disappointed. We were in Sorrento for my 50th birthday and my husband had contacted the hotel to ask if they could give us a room with a view over the bay if possible, and were told they would give us the best they could. Well, if our room was the best they could give us, I would have hated to see the worst. We had to go DOWN when we went in the lift, which set alarm bells ringing in my head and when we opened the door to the room and saw our "view" both our hearts sank. We looked out into a small area with a large shrub in the middle and a wall behind it. We had ants coming out of the wall in our bathroom, and were given a spray to kill them. Next day, the dead ants were still lying in the bathroom, they hadn't been cleared away. This hotel really put a damper on what was supposed to be a memorable visit to Sorrento, I will remember it for all the wrong reasons.

This hotel was ideal for our family holiday - clean, great pool and delicious pool side snacks (David's speciality #1 highly recommended). The walk into Sorrento was about 15-20 mins and the road is very busy, but we actually ended up enjoying our evening strolls! Pompei was fascinating and we thoroughly recommend the blue cruise boat trip. Finally, the kndness and warmth of the family who run the hotel is very touching and we thank them for making our holiday to Sorrento so memorable.

We would re-visit this hotel again and again and again. On a busy road but once you get inside it has a beautiful old world charm. The rooms are small but comfortable and if you get a room, like ours, looking out over the Bay.....the view will take your breath away! Lovely food, gorgeous family who run the hotel, nice pool and orange and lemon trees are everywhere. Ask David if you can see the allotment and the abundance of fruit and veg he grows! Sorrento town is just a 10min walk away and again is beautiful (but very expensive) with lots and lots of lovely places to eat. I will go back..in fact, I want to live there!

Comfortable, spotlessly clean family run Hotel, Rita and the rest of the family and staff most friendly and helpfull. We found it very central for touring as its between Sorrento and S'agnella train and bus stations. Our rooms were comfortable with a great aircon, and lovely view towards Versuvius, overlooking the hotels beautiful pool and citrus trees(some trees had oranges, lemons, lime and grapefruit all on the same tree!).
