Hotel is in a great location close to the town square as well as the train station. Staff were very helpful and breakfast had a great selection to choose from. The only down side was our room was very small but it did have a lovely balcony overlooking the vibrant street below.

We had booked on line and when we arrived after a full day of travel , that our reservation was changed as the computer had a glitch. Anyway we had booked for the next two nights but alas they sent us to another of their "sister hotels" the hotel rivoli down the street. Dont stay there. No air conditioning, and on an alley tahtnhas traffic all night . Four am the garbage truck comes right below your room and dumps all the re cycling bottles tc. Really loud. Do not stay here a main rod for walking traffic as well so all day very busy below your room. No peace at all

Room Tip: Try to make sure that your reservation is for the sorrento city hotel only

nice small family hotel, nice terrace on roof, close to train station, stores and restaurant. The room was very clean with a small balcony , but the view was on the roof.

Very good breakfast! staff very friendly. I
would go again!

Room Tip: very convenient location, on main street in sorrento and a walking distance from train station.

A short walk from the train station and situated ideally for traversing the city made this a great place to stay. The rooms were very clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The only disappointment was the coffee in the morning. It was one of the machines that tastes of instant coffee and powdered milk.

Situated right on the main street, though the street is closed after 8.00 pm so no traffic noise to disturb a good night's sleep. We were assured of a warm welcome because it was our 2nd visit to them. It did not disappoint and as we specified a room at the front of the hotel with a balcony, Roberta and her staff made sure we got just that. The rooms are small, but perfectly adequate and certainly clean, though storage space is very limited. However with a little creative planning everything got tidied away for our week long visit. We were treated like honored guests and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast again adequate, but apart from toast, it is a cold collation. However as I am gluten intolerant they got me gluten free bread and biscuits which were great.
Although we have stayed in Sorrento 10 times we still found new things to do that we had not done before. We visited the ruins of a Roman villa at the baths of Queen Giovanna at Capo di Sorrento. A bus from just off the Piazza Tasso dropped us of at Capo and we walked the mile are so down to the sea. Coming back up was harder but we took our time and the walk was delightful. We also visited the sprawling and rather dangerous city of Naples. Good tip here is to go the station after the Main Garibaldi station to the very end of the line, walk down to the Castello Nuovo and get on the blue line hop-on hop off bus out to Pottsuoli, not getting off but sitting on the top deck photographing. This took about a hour, then we got the red line hop on hop off for the city tour and got off at the archaeological museum. The collection of treasures from Pompeii and Herculaneum was amazing. Then we got back on the bus, back to near the station we got off the train an returned to Sorrento. By the time it got to the Garibaldi station it was quite full and we would not have got 2 seats together. So we saw Naples in comfort and safety for a total of 22 euros each.
In Sorrento there was also an exhibition of the works of Salvador Dali at the Villa Fiorentina that was mind blowing and we went to a wonderful concert of Italian Arias and Neapolitan songs one evening n the concert hall of the Foreigners Club.
Sorrento never disappoints and the Hotel Sorrento is well located, warm and friendly and so convenient for everything,an experience helped by the brilliant Roberta, Theresa and all the staff

Room Tip: Try and get a front of hotel room if available
