The view from, and hospitality of, this B & B was stunning. We were collected from the station by Pasquale who also offers to transport guests several times during each day, as the B & B is a couple of Km up in the hills behind Sorrento Town, so quiet and relaxed. The attention to detail is superb and Pasquale's knowledge and good English helps one plan one's trips while staying at Villa Monica. Ideally situated for Pompeii, Vesuvius, Amalfi coast and Capri we would recommend this B & B to any couple looking for relaxed and quiet accommodation with excellent views over the Bay of Naples.

Room Tip: 'Napoli' was wonderful with fantastic views.

I was traveling solo and arriving from Naples in a frazzled state of mind. The moment I arrived at Villa Monica, after an enthusiastic and good humored drive up into the hills with Pasquale, I was at peace. The view, the room, the little bottle of wine (only 3 euro), did I mention the view? There were fresh flowers and a super clean, beautifully decorated room. I ate at a recommended restaurant in the hills where I was the only non-Italian and it was wonderful to soak up the ambiance. Pasquale was so welcoming, funny, and Oh My Gosh gorgeous! I have told everyone that this is the place to return to. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and cared for. Pasquale is very well connected and will help you with anything you need. He helped me get my train tickets for my trip back and his restaurant recommendation for Ravello was my best restaurant experience in Italy. I will return to Villa Monica with my husband and friends. It's the only place to stay. The breakfast at any hotel in Italy is not American fare, so foodie or not, stay in the US if you want an omelet. Also, there was a compendium of very helpful recent tips and recommendations from former guests. Thank you Pasquale for your sense of humor, your recommendations and care (and again so sorry for interrupting your anniversary dinner!!).

Room Tip: Get a room with a view over looking the Bay.

We had a great 4 night stay at Villa Monica in late October. The view from our room across Sorrento and the Bay of Naples to Mt Vesuvius is simply stunning. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast, which was served on the terrace 3 out of the 4 mornings that we were there, was just lovely. Lots of choices from cereals, pastries, fresh coffee and jams. Pasquale is the most wonderful host who is keen to ensure that your stay is memorable. His restaurant suggestions and recommendations for day excursions were spot on and only served to enhance our holiday in Sorrento. He is well connected and able to ensure that only the best people in Sorrento assist you with tours etc. You should be aware though that the B&B is out of town (high in the hills overlooking Sorrento) but Pasquale offers a fantastic pick up service to take you to and from the town centre.

Villa Monica is by far the best reason for us to return to Sorrento. Pasquale is am amazing host who accommodates your every need. The view of the entire bay of Naples is breathtaking. Being away from the crowds is a pleasure after a long day of site seeing. The rooms are immaculate and Pasquale continues to add amenities to satisfy his guests. The breakfast is sumptuous & typically European, fresh baked croissants, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, expresso, cappuccino, tea, juice and more (expecting bacon & eggs or eggs Benedict, stay in USA) This B&B is by far the best value in Sorrento

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view. If you are on a budget and choose the room w/o, the view from the terrace w...

Lovely rooms, beautiful views and a very good shuttle service to and from town. This is essential unless you have a car, as the villa is way up on the hill miles from town or any restaurants - hence the great views. Having read all the glowing reviews we were very disappointed with the breakfasts and restaurant recommendations. If you are foodies, you may want to stay elsewhere.

Among other things, we saw my family's ancestral village in Sicily, the Vatican and the ruins of Imperial Rome, and the art of the great Italian masters in Florence during our two and a half weeks in Italy, but the first thing we mention to friends and family about our Italian journey is Pasquale and his wonderful Villa Monica. Weeks after booking two rooms there, two more of our adult children decided they wanted to join us. The Villa was fully booked by the time I got back to Pasquale, so two family members - unfortunately - had to stay at a nearby hotel (which created some logistical problems with transportation, which Pasquale and his family went out of their way to help us overcome). There was nothing wrong with the hotel, but it couldn't compare to the wonderful experience of those of us who spent two nights at Villa Monica. The B&B is way up the mountain, which means you have amazing views of the Bay of Naples and the city from the rooms. And with Pasquale providing regular transportation to and from town, you won't need to call a taxi for anything. He even provided transportation to an incredible restaurant - Vino Vero - which is just a few minutes down the mountain from the B&B. Seems like Pasquale's up every day from dawn until after his quests have gone to bed for the night. I don't know how he finds the energy! The rooms are charming, and the common areas are spotless and inviting. I would recommend Villa Monica under any circumstances, but add in a cheerful, friendly, humorous and helpful host like Pasquale, and you are sure to have a memorable, superb experience.
