Very nice B&B, very good value. The view is great as the breakfast ! The owner, Pasquale, is very friendly and helpful. It is not that easy to get there with your car, but Pasquale will either help you or drive you to the down town.

Villa Monica Bed and Breakfast was just what we wanted. Clean, spacious and pretty room. Extraordinary view from our room with a deck of our own! Pasquale ,our host, was always so friendly, hilarious, and outgoing. Breakfast was delicious every morning served up by Mikaela. Villa Monica is above town by a short drive, not in the center of town, and Pasquale was always flexible about driving us and recommended a fantastic local restaurant off the beaten path . He truly made our stay exceptional. My sister and I were completely happy about choosing the Villa Monica. The value cant be beat. Would definitely stay again. And definitely worth every star. Thanks Pasquale!

All the wonderful things written are true, Villa Monica really is that great! The foremost reason to stay is Pasquale. In all our years of traveling in the US and Europe at B&Bs, Inns and small hotels he was the best host we have ever come across. He instantly makes everyone welcome as a friend. He is so charming, accommodating and helpful. Pasquale’s wife Monica and children are lovely as well, but it is Pasquale whom you interact with mostly. He took us to restaurants in the hills we would have never heard of had we stayed in town. We learned much about life in Sorrento and growing up in Italy from him. The villa itself is charming and was a completely different experience from staying in a hotel; living like and learning from a local was so fantastic!!!! We had worried about not having a car or public transport but as we joked the Pasquale mobile was always there when you needed it. His schedule to and from town is so accommodating and riding up and down the hill with him is an experience!

There have been a couple of changes to the rooms from earlier postings so I will update. Pasquale has added an ensuite bath to one room and removed a Jacuzzi from another in the process. His rooms are now as follows: Three rooms all in a row with private balconies (separated by lattice) facing the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The 1st to the far left is Napoli with the new and smallest ensuite private bath but the second largest and very nice room. Our room, the very delightful Vesuvio, was in the middle and is the smallest (but not too small!) with the very lovely private bath just outside in the hall. Robes and slippers provided and it was not an issue to go out our door to our bath. This bath used to have the Jacuzzi but it was removed to make room for the new bath for the Napoli room. The 3rd room is Sorrento which is the largest room with an extra twin bed and a very nice ensuite bath with the largest shower for those who would appreciate the space.

The rooms are all tastefully decorated as is the wonderful Great Room/Kitchen. The views are stunning with a lovely garden to enjoy right out the door. Breakfast was good and only the 2nd out of 6 properties we stayed at in this 3 week trip that was included. Breakfast is typical European continental with meat, cheese and bread/croissants, juice, yogurt, hot drinks and cereal. There was also always at least one sweet treat available daily. The refrigerator is available to keep soft drinks, wine or snacks in so this is nice if you want to have something special of your own on hand.

If you want a lovely room to stay in at a reasonable price then this is a very nice B&B with great service and a stunning view. However, if you enjoy conversing with your host (and perhaps other guests), getting the feel of what the local people live like, getting special treatment, being made to feel at home and having a wonderful cultural experience in Italy then Villa Monica is way more than a B&B… THANK YOU Pasquale for an experience we will never forget! Also please thank Monica again for her help with the medicine for the colds we caught!

PS. It was early April so no flowers out yet in my garden picture but it was still lovely!

We selected Villa Monica based on other Trip Advisor Reviews and we were not disappointed. Villa Monica is about a 10 minute drive outside of the main part of Sorrento, but the owner, Pasquale, will pick you up (we did not rent a car and did not need one) and provides a free shuttle service with a very accommodating pick-up and drop-off schedule. The beauty of the surrounding countryside, views of Vesuvius and Bay of Naples as well as the quiet made it a great choice for us. I stayed in the Vesuvius Room and while it did not have an ensuite bathroom, I did have a private bath located right next door. My room had a charming decor with crisp white linens and private terrace balcony (again, with those incredible views!). All the rooms in Villa Monica were spotless including the common area where we gathered for breakfast or in the evening. Breakfast is catered to accommodate multiple nationalities and Michaela makes wonderful cappuchinos. We actually stayed 9 nights here, taking day trips to Pompeii, Capri, Paestum and Ravello (twice!) as well as touring Sorrento end to end. Pasquale is a wonderful host and actively solicits feedback from guests on any improvements. He is so entertaining; he speaks great English and provided us with some Italian lessons - very helpful! His wife's parents own a bakery in Sorrento and you must stop in and try some of their pastries; they are wonderful! Pasquale will provide recommendations on places to see, shopping, and restaurants (be sure to try to the local restaurant, Vino Vero - best food we had in Italy!). We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it!

Those looking to stay in the heart of Sorrento, will not appreciate what Villa Monica offers. But having said that, I'd choose this little B&B over other hotels without giving it a second thought. All the rooms command a great view of the bay of naples and Mt Vesuvius. And with Pasquale more than ready to drop you off at the town centre and pick you up, you get the best of both worlds. My husband and I had a lovely five days in Sorrento. When we arrived outside the pastry shop run by pasquale's father in law, his family treated us to some lovely baked goods at no cost. Pasquale even offered to upgrade us to a bigger room, again, at no cost. But we declined as we loved our room, which had a little private balcony. the rooms were clean, breakfast adequate, and pasquale was a wonderful host. When we had to return to rome, he dropped us off at the bus station at 6am in the morning.
