We found the hotel's location, amenities, and service outstanding--a truly wonderful place to stay in beautiful Sorrento. The concierge, Raffaele (who spoke perfect English), was extraordinary, providing us with assistance, information, and insider tips that made our visit to Sorrento even more exceptional than it might have been.

We stayed here for 8 nights and spent a magical Christmas in Sorrento. The hotel even sponsored a Christmas lunch for the guests offering a local traditional meal. The central square featured a beautiful tree, (plus another lit-up square in town) and there was music, street entertainment and families constantly strolling around the streets. We had an oversized balcony facing onto the street and the heavy sliding door shut out all the street noise. At times, noise came up from the reception area, which is to be expected. It was a pleasure going to the huge breakfast buffet every morning with everything from fresh fruit, to pastries, local "dolce" specialties (cakes), rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, bacon and sausage. Even a blender for smoothies! The servers were friendly and very efficient.
The beds were on the hard side, typical of European beds. There was an elevator, which came in handy, as there were no porters to help with the baggage. The front desk was very helpful but business-like, and got friendlier as they recognized us as long-term guests. Sorrento is a great central point for travelling to Naples and the Amalfi Coast, and you can walk to the train station from the hotel. Parking your car if you rent one, is about 20 Euro a day in the garage across the street. You can take a short walk to the pier and get a ferry or high-speed boat over to Capri. Definitely would go back. For a delicious moderately-priced meal walk over to Restaurante o' Parucchiano, "la Favorita" intown.

Room Tip: The heavy sliding door will shut out the street noise so that is not a problem. Try to stay away fro...

Chose this hotel on reviewer's advice. What I read was it was close to the train station. What I didn't do was check with the hotel to find out just how close....3 blocks. We got ripped off by a cab driver for 15 euro. My fault for not doing my homework. But once inside this lovely modern hotel the front desk folks couldn't have been more soothing. This hotel has not one but two elevators which keep folks moving smoothly. The room was very large and bright. Even the reading light was bright enough to actually read by.
Bathroom was large and had big fluffy towels. I like the fact the hotel claims to be eco friendly but after following directions to have our towels not replaced they were any way. I informed the front desk and the next day the same thing. So I am not sure where the disconnect is on the eco friendly and the folks servicing the rooms. Service folks may need some reminding/retraining.
Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and palate. Lots of little goodies and surprises each morning. The head of the dining room had the place humming without a word. A nod here a glance there and the staff responded. Made for a very enjoyable breakfast.
You can catch a train or bus withing 3 blocks of the hotel. Also, many good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. If you just want a sandwich, go to the little store directly across from the hotel. Yum. The owner was closing but still fixed sandwiches while even making change from his pocket as the register was already closed.
Front desk folks very helpful and knowledgeable.
Yes, yes, yes, stay at this hotel. And all this service did not suffer one bit even for the fact that they were closing on Monday after the weekend we stayed there.

Had seen this hotel previously but had never stayed in it. When we were returning to Sorrento it was our first choice, and we were not disappointed. From the central location, to the very comfortable rooms, and not forgetting the excellent breakfasts, everything was perfect. The hotel staff were also extremely helpful. We had originally booked a 5 night stay at the start of December but due to gales on the morning of our departure our flight from Glasgow to Gatwick was delayed and as a result we missed our connection. We advised the hotel what had happened and when we arrived at lunchtime the next day our room was waiting on us and we were able to check in immediately. It was only when we were checking out that we realised that they had only charged us for the 4 nights we stayed and not for the 5 nights booked, a very unexpected touch. Will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in the centre of Sorrento. Well appointed rooms, excellent breakfast - with lots of choice including fruit, homemade cakes - and friendly staff. Worth booking your car into their car parking, if you have one, as their rates are cheaper than the car park across the road. Would definitely stay here again!

We hit Sorento in the off season with no reservations and no idea where to stay. We stumbled upon The Plaza, and what a find! The staff was AMAZING, very friendly and helpful. Our room had a fantastic view of the sea and the town, was extremely neat and modern. GREAT bathroom!! Our stay included breakfast, and I could not believe the quality of the facility and the food. didn't want to leave!!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Room Tip: try to get on the 4th fl!

This is a very sharply kept hotel. It is close to the main square of Sorrento and close to the old town. We just walked just about everywhere, to the tiny old medieval streets that were lined with souvenir shops and restaurants, to the water where we caught a boat to Capri. The hotel is very clean, very luxurious--quite Zen-like, and the beds were comfortable. However, the male staff at the desk were snooty and only to anxious to get rid of you. They were not helpful at all. Other than that, the hotel is a nice place to book when one is in Sorrento. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the unfriendly desk staff.
