“Simply the best steakhouse in Sorrento”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

The food here is some of the best we had in Sorrento, but the very best steak we had on this trip was right here. The staff are wonderful and the meal was fabulous. Beats the other steak houses hands down.

“best meal so far”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

We dont normally choose a restaurant on trip adviser with so few reviews, but this restaurant was near our hotel and all the food reviews seemed really good so we gave it a go and we were so pleased we did. The food was superb. I had the ribs on the specials board which came with fries / hand cut chips and mushrooms on a hot skillet as sides and my wife had the chicken which came with fries / chips and a spicy wilted spinach. We finished with a shared rhum baba again excellent. All the trimmings of a top restaurant were on show - amuse boche and a lovely selection of breads etc...The waiter that looked after us was very good but slightly over worked I think he was also the manager. If they become victims of their own succes they will need more staff. Apologies to the owners as I knocked over one of our glasses when I got up to leave and it smashed on the lovely tiled floor - Sorry.

“Good Food...But!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

My wife and I decided to have our evening meal here while on our visit. The menu outside looked nice and appetising and we were shown to our seat by a pleasant waiter. We decided to have the Chateaubriand. We also do like a nice bottle of Red wine with our meal. We asked for the wine menu and this is where it felt a let down. All the food on the menu was reasonably priced but the Wine Menu was totally overpriced for where we were. I don't mind paying a bit extra for a nice bottle and I am certainly no skinflint but some of the prices for their reds were ridiculous. from what I could tell, only two bottles of red were under 50euro and a nice Amarone was starting from 95 euro upwards. I knew I could get the same bottle for a lot less in Sorrento. It ( Pardoning the Pun) left a sour taste in our mouths as the actual meal we had was very nice with the staff being very pleasant and attentive. I think they need to sort there wine pricing out as this restaurant has the potential to be very good

Dear 1PFinn,
first of all thanks for sharing your experience at our restaurant with the Trip Advisor community, and for pointing out the quality of the meat that we offer.
As users of Tripadvisor are millions, it does not seem right that you arrogate the right to define "ridiculous", because of the prices, our wine list. Especially because what you say is not true.
In our wine list there are actually 580 labels with prices very variable, depending on the type of wine. Probably you were unable to read it and stopped only on a few pages.
If you had, for example, looked at the page "from the vineyards of Campania", you would have find this list (we're talking only about reds) and it seems to me that there are well over two bottles under the cost of 50,00:

If you want to change the region, in Trentino, in the upper Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Marche, Abruzzo, Puglia and Sicily, we have a wide selection of red wines well below the € 50.00.
As for the regions of Piedmont and Veneto was our precise business choice to select only high-end wines, but we believe this in no way prejudices the choice of the average consumer, who can safely choose between at least 150 red labels with prices comprezi between 24,00 and 50,00 €.
Therefore, we feel entitled to ask Tripadvisor to remove this review does not correspond to the truth.
We encourage you to want to check for yourself and you want to correct, if necessary, at least in part its review.
Sincerely,
Paola Savarese

“Best we found”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

we found this great restaurant as we came from the lift from the harbour. very smart decor and as we were dressed casual we sat at outside table . Black angus beef on offer and as a chef i knew what the quality of the steaks would be . A very efficient waiter (and friendly) suggested a good wine from an extensive list and took our order for 2 med fillet steaks and sides of fries, mushrooms and a salad. We were presented with a small amuse bush which was fab and our steaks duly arrived , large , cooked to perfection and the best I have had for a long time .
The service and quality of food makes this easy to recomend to anyone, top notch.
