“wonderful hotel, close to everything, view from roof top is simply beautiful..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2010

This Hotel in beautiful Sorrento has everything going for it, except the noise from the cafe's at night..a good tip is.... insist on a room away from the laneway and cafe's, sadly our window was right opposite a cafe. and the music was a bit much.. Other than that little complaint, this hotel was everything you could ask for.....we are three middle aged Aussie "young" girls...and we could walk from the station to the main square and the Palazzo Hotel is just off the square, you are able to walk everywhere,
Our triple room was lovely. beds comfy, and bathroom great. Breakfast OK .. (lots of cake ?) The roof top balcony is just fantastic, with views to everywhere. The staff were lovely. especially after being in Paris. !!!
Try the local bus for 7 Euro all day ticket (leaving from the station, and don;t forget to get your ticket at the tobacco shop the day before and be early to beat the long line of travellers to get on the bus) This bus will take you along the Amalfi coast, where you can get on and off at wonderful places like Positano & Amalfi. Much cheaper than the tours, and you can please yourself to when you want to leave. The buses were regular, and an amaizing drive along the cliffs, with views forever. ( you can also get on the ferry to Capri as the locals do, without costing you the earth) The tourist agents will try to sell you the most expensive tickets...ask a local, and buy your ticket at the ferry terminal.

Have just returned home from beautiful Sorrento. Spent seven nights at the Palazzo Guardati, a very stylish hotel in a central location in the town. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean with a comfortable kingsize bed. The bathroom was lovely with its large bath and shower. Towels were sparkly white and fluffy, and were changed daily. The air conditioning was excellent. A bonus was the free safe. There was a wonderful roof-top solarium; a great sun-trap with wonderful views across the main square and across the Bay of Naples.
Unfortunately, the breakfasts were just adequate and lacked selection. The coffees, however, were excellent and plentiful!
ALL the staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful. They gave lots of excellent advice about touring and restaurants.
This was our sixth visit to Sorrento. We have always stayed at some of the older, larger 5 star hotels on the outskirts of the town - all very grand, but not as up to date as the Palazzo Guardati. We have always booked half board but this time thought we would try a hotel in the centre of the town and experience eating out in as many restaurants as we could. To this end, we could not have chosen a better hotel or a better location.
This hotel is excellent for couples and lone travellers but , in our opinion, not suitable for children as there isn't a swimming pool.
If you want a classy hotel near lots of wonderful restaurants book the PALAZZO GUARDATI and enjoy!

Very Good Hotel, Service was Excellent, no trouble what so ever if anything was required, All staff were fantastic and friendly especially Pascalo was a great host (receptionist),always giving you good tips the outside terrace was brilliant suntrap the views of mt versuvious were excellent as well as the Med. Breakfast could have been more varied however it was good for your typical continetal food ,but the waiter made up for it always greeted you with a smile and a little song. Location can not be faulted although at night can be quite noisey due to the cocktail bar directly outside down the alley however the drinks in there were very good value for money so you did not mind the noise as it very handy for a late drink.Me and my wife were there with a 14 yr old and the triple room was more than adequate very spacious and comfortable .

I would Highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Sorrento - great location approx 5min walk to the train station and the marina to catch the ferry and in a great location to walk to shops and resturants. The room was very spacious and clean, breakfasts were great, the staff were friendly everything you could ask for in a hotel!

Would highly recommend this boutique hotel. Can't think of anything negative about it. It is a few blocks walking from the train station, very near the canyon to the marina, around the corner from the central plaza and down a typical Sorrento narrow alley. The hotel room was clean and spacious with Italian baroque furniture and wood floors - air conditioned, flat screen TV and small room refrigerator. Really appreciated the black-out curtains! Bathroom was not cramped. The soaking bathtub also had a shower. Very nice breakfast included eggs and meat, as well as cereals, pastries, tarts, quiches and juice. We enjoyed sitting on the roof in the evening when the bar was open. We felt the hotel was a lucky find! And so convenient!

I stayed with my mum and sister in April and we found the location perfect for walking to shops and restaurants locally. The service was fantastic! And the staff made us feel really welcome and helped us with any queries we had.

Rooms were clean and we thought it was great value for the price.

The only bad part is taxi's can't take you right to the door because the entrance is off a piazza and up a lane.

Stylish old building, renovated for comfort but still keeping an antique atmosphere in the room furniture and chandelier, although with a renovated bathroom. A nice sea view terrace is available for sun tanning and drinks in the evening.

Clean, very well kept and excellent service, decent English breakfast.

Very good location close to the central plaza (Tasso) and nearby shops and restaurants, and an easy walk to the train station (to Naples and Pompeii). If you see the map the hotel is very close to the port, but there would be a very steep walk. There are city buses to and from the port, though. It’s location is tricky, a small pedestrian passage hard to find and you will have to carry your bags.

The hotel site says parking in the central plaza, but have in mind it is a public parking a bit farther than the plaza.

It’s a very good price/performance place in Sorrento.
