“If you want to feel Italian hospitality at its best, stay at the Sorrento B&B Flats!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2010

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Sorrento B&B Flats and Luigi, the owner/host! My husband booked our 25th wedding anniversary stay online and what a delightful surpise this was. Not only is the location perfect to get a real feel of old Sorrento, but Luigi was so gracious and helpful with every question and request we had. He was simply an email away if we had any questions and responded very quickly! At our arrival on the train, Luigi met us and gave us a tour of the area as we walked to our room. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, flowers on the balconies, clean bathroom, and a wonderful kitchen area. We loved walking and exploring the old narrow streets of Sorrento. Many local stores were close by to buy fresh made bread, wine, cheese and fresh fruits and vegetables! Wonderful local craftsmen who create lacquered wood inlay tables and music boxes open their doors to show their work. Luigi shared with us places to visit, including preferable times to go, and where to go for dinner. One place involved a wonderful winding stroll down an old narrow street down to the water, to a family tratoria. The food was fresh and delicious! We stayed during the time when the ash cloud was hovering near by and Luigi helped us to find another location to stay in Rome as we had not pre-booked. If you want to experience old Sorrento with it's charm and feel cared for, stay at the Sorrento B&B Flats!

We would recommend this to anyone staying in Sorrento who would like to be part of the culture and life of the Italian people. It has all the luxury of a hotel with the convenience of being able to cook your own meals, get a local's recommendations for food that is not too touristy or over priced and places to go and things to see. It is a lovely location in the heart of the little shops, a short walk from the sea and everywhere else in Sorrento and it's possible to visit all the main sights on the circumvesuviana or a boat. Luigi is a wonderfully charming host who in the midst of being stuck because of the ash cloud went way beyond what was expected to enable us to get home. He even found us a place to stay when out time with him was up and he was fully booked. He will pick you up from the station in Sorrento and walk you to your accommodation. He is available to ask questions and checks on you regularly. The rooms are each different, unique and lovely. A little chilly still in April, but nothing a warm jumper didn't sort out. Plenty of bedding for the nights not to be too cold. Breakfast is at the local bars that the locals get their croissants from in the morning - ask for the freshly squeezed orange, it really is wonderful!

If we went back to Sorrento we'd find it hard to go anywhere else!!!

While a town like Sorrento is ideal for couples or more, this was a perfect place for me to stay as a solo traveller. Luigi, the manager, will give you a perfect description of what to do (as far as access to your room, etc.) and has some great advice and recommendations. Sorrento is a safe town, but the extra level of privacy (you have to enter through a private terrace area) is well received.

The flat is located away from the major tourist area (Corso Italia + Piazza Tasso), but the town is not too large as for that to be a burden(if you are interested in that aspect of travel).

In all: Great place to stay, great location, and take Luigi's advice!

Very enjoyable stay.

Sorrento Flats is fantastic. Great location in the heart of the old city and Luigi the host made us feel very welcome. Luigi organized a wonderful boat tour to Capri for us, helped us with bus schedules, and recommended places to eat. The wi-fi was fast & reliable, the room was spotless and nicely decorated, and the small kitchen was a bonus. Great value for your money - we couldn't ask for anything more. Highly recommended.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Sorrento Flats. Luigi is an exceptional host and he provided us with so many great tips while staying in the Sorrento / Amalfi Coast region. Very clean flats in an amazing location with such great access to everything you will want to do in this area. Would recommend to anyone.

Very well equipped room, spotlessly clean and in a prefect location for exploring Sorrento, Herculaneum, Pompei, Vesuvius, Capri, the Amalfi Coast etc etc.

Expert advice from Luigi and his family made our stay in Sorrento too short, we will be back.
