Have stayed at Villa La Terrazza for a week in early summer for the last 6 years and it just keeps getting better and better. Owner Andrea sees to his guests like they were old friends. The Villa commands the best location in Sorrento in my opinion. Virtually in the center of town on St. Antonino Sq. adjacent to shopping, restaurants and the ferry boats to Naples, Positano, Capri and beyond. And if a ferry boat isn't your style, Andrea has a small fleet of pleasure boats to accommodate your wishes. Also provided on request are day trips to the Amalfi Coast and its charming hill towns as well as Naples Airport pick-up and return. All accommodations are self-catering apartments with updated kitchens and bathrooms, air conditioning, free WiFi internet, flat screen TVs and access to the huge patio overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius....doesn't get much better than that...! Oh yes, there is a pool centered on the patio to refresh oneself on a hot summer day! Each apartment is unique with a touch of old world charm...my husband and I personally rent il Pino which sleeps up to 4 and has some of the greatest views in Sorrento. Nuff said!

Room Tip: All have access to the patio, some have direct access others indirect. Most have spectacular views...

We are now on our tenth annual visit to La Terrazza. It is paradise. If you are expecting a hotel, please go somewhere else. La Terrazza is an authentic Sorrentino experience. You have to get into the moment and understand that the apartment in the villa is yours--as if you have suddenly been given an apartment in someone's house--and not any old house--but a house with the one of the most spectacular views in the world. If you want luxury, please go somewhere else. If you want an authentic, beautiful, soul-fulfilling, romantic experience come here.

Room Tip: The rooms are all spacious and accommodating. They all share the magnificent terrace.

Andrea the owner of the villa also offers boat tours from Sorrento to Capril. It is an incredible value and worth every cent. We were picked up at 10am and cam back at around 7-7:30pm. He took us all around Capri, to the grottos, waterfalls, etc, gave us lunch (yummiest tomato sandwich). as well as gave us free time in Capri. Don't think you'll find a better boat tour. Andrea was extremely nice and is obviously an expert boater. We always felt safe and comfortable and as such could just concentrate on the beauty surrounding us!!!!

This Villa was incredible! The location was the best, so close to everything. Our villa was very large and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Andrea's (owner) boat tour of Amalfi and Capri was just beautiful. While it is very nice at La Terrazza is not like staying in a lux hotel. The terrace needed some up keep with some attention to the flowers/plants. The beds were not the most comfortable but everything else was nice. We had a great experience at Villa Terrazza. The view and the location was to die for! If you choose to stay here make sure to be in contact with management so they can greet you upon arrival.

Ciao Lisa, thank you for choosing VIlla la Terrazza and for your review. We are very sorry to hear just now that your beds were not comfortable. This is definitely something we will look into. It is important to us that our clients are as comfortable as possible. Also, we are sorry you felt our plants were growing a bit wild. The jasmine arch smells divine at night. All the best to you and your sweet family from sunny Sorrento!

Fantastic location but the place was in renovation mode. If you are seeking a 5 star hotel, this is no frills authentic rustic italy in an 1800s villa with hard beds (we had been promised a king but only had queen), musty rooms, and it is great!. There was a major problem with our reservation and room due to poor management (he was fired we are told). Most villa spaces are nice but some needs great attention and stay away from the basement apartment called the Gran Hotel or Conchiglia suite. It is moldy and smells and the shower/toilette/bidette are all in the same room!!!! Yes, I said the shower head is located next to the toilet in the same 1 mtr x 1.5mtr room! We met the people there who were very patient but OMG.....Bit weird and I think would be dangerous. The staff is only there from 9am to 5 pm, after that you are on your own. FANTASTIC LOCATION< Great views. the pool was broken and in disrepair.

Andrea is a wonderful gentleman and is working on renovating the place for the season. Just ask him to fix anything and he gets right on it. We just did not expect all the problems that almost everyone seems to have had. Most likely it will be fixed by next year and this place will e a destination to go to.

We look forward to return when it is renovated to a 5 star!!!!!! Almost there....

Room Tip: Stay away from the basement suite/apt

We appreciate your visit and your review regarding our guest house. As we discussed on your arrival, we understood you were unhappy with your accommodations. We regret you were not able to also mention the many steps we took to improve your experience, as we are working hard every day to improve every detail for our customers. Our property is an authentic 19th Century villa, with all the glamour that entails. We are not a 5-star hotel, as is reflected in our prices.

Regarding some of your specific concerns, our pool is fully operational and we have staff available every evening until 9pm. Further, we provided you with our personal cellular telephone numbers to ensure we were at your disposal. We are also sorry to see cleanliness ranked so low among your review elements. We take every critical comment very seriously and will continue to work hard to improve.

My sister, brother-in-law, and I stayed at the Villa for 5 nights in May; it was everything that we had hoped for. The apartment was enormous, with large bathrooms, a spacious living space, a private balcony, and amazing views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius.

Andreas and Simone were more than welcoming and accommodating, assisting with dinner reservations, and of course, boat tours - we had 2 amazing boat trips coordinated through Andreas.

The Villa is located within walking distance of everything, but off the beaten path just enough to allow for peace and quiet (save for the occasional boat horn). I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Sorrento!

We stayed here based on recommendations from my aunt and uncle. If you are planning on renting a car and doing day trips in and around the Amalfi , this is the place to be. First off, Sorrento is a bigger city with many more restaurant options than some of the smaller quainter Amalfi Coast towns. Also as it is an actual city beyond just being a tourist town there are other amenities like supermarkets etc. It is perfectly situated to do day trips to Ravello, Amalfi, Positano and all the amazing hikes in and around the area. Andrea, the proprietor also has a luxurious boat and offers a day trip to Capri. I highly recommend this as it is a full day excursion and very reasonably priced. The Villa itself is right in the heart of downtown Sorrento, minutes from the marina, tourist office and main square. Amazing restaurants are within walking/stumbling distance. The apartments are spacious with comfortable beds and fully equiped kitchens. We made most breakfasts in our apartment and ate them on a breath-taking terrace with a view of the Bay of Sorrento. Andrea and his able assistant, Simone made sure that all of our wants or needs were addressed and I could not recommend this property more highly. We stayed in Faito and Pino and both were amazing. The Pino suites terrace is not a private one but it still has a breathtaking view and we happily had our breakfast there every morning. Faito (we moved into for our last four days) has a fully private 2nd floor terrace which is unbelievable.
