Staying a stone's throw away from Da Tonino at Hotel Villa Sarah, we chanced on it during meandering walk out to Ponte Noce. The promise of an elegant untranslated menu and a few
empty bottles of excellent wine in a modest window at the restaurant's gate lured us. We wound up eating dinner here
twice, both times with the restaurant nearly to ourselves, amid greenery, scenery and service rare anywhere, alone Capri. The staff showered attention and patient understanding on our 3 young children, even though the place hardly strikes you as a "family" restaurant. The sommelier has created a stunning list of regional wines and steered us to some gems, still reasonably priced (both >€65) for the exceptional quality. The food was imaginative, flavorful and beautifully prepared. Pasta with rabbit and pine nuts as well as the strawberry,
lemon, basil tartlet with herb ice cream and an ethereal local dessert wine were all outstanding.
The evening walk out and back only adds to the charm of the experience. A highlight of our week in Capri!
