Don't be fooled by Best Western name. This hotel is independently owned and operated and has none of the qualities of a chain hotel as we know therm in the States. English speaking staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast served on a terrace. Easy walk to center of town where we enjoyed people watching with a glass of wine in the evenings. Highly recommend this hotel.

Most people seem to take day-trips to Capri, when there are hordes of tourists wandering around. In the evening, after most have returned to the mainland, Capri is magical; romantic; quiet. Staying at Hotel Syrene just made our stay on Capri that much nicer. Its location is great, within a few minutes walk from La Piazzetta. The rooms are large, many with panoramic views and even the bathrooms are larger than the average Italian bathroom. The hotel is visually beautiful.....inviting guests to just hang out there. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The included breakfast, on the garden view terrace, was arguably the best of all the hotels we stayed in on this trip (7). We will definitely stay on Capri, at Hotel Syrene, again!

Room Tip: There is some "street" noise on the ocean view size, so ask for higher floors.

We loved the location. The staff was excellent providing support of local restaurants and travel assistance to beaches, hiking, suitcase assistance to harbor, and other attractions on the island. We elected to stay an additional night and were able to negotiate lower rate by almost 30% discount. After getting off the ferry, flag down a guy in a golf cart who will take your luggage directly to hotel where it will be waiting for you. You then jump on the fenicular to top of chair lift and take a short walk to hotel which is perfectly located. Upon check out you must give your luggage to front desk 2 hours in advance of your ferry departure. You can take a short walk to bus depot to visit other parts of the Island - Anacapri or private beach clubs. Numerous excellent restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Fair rate for this luxurious Island. Room was clean. Nice swimming pool with see thru windows, adjoining lemon tree veranda. Service was excellent, and breakfast typical European was better than most. Would recommend to other travelers. If you could rate 4 and a half stars, would have. This is not an oceanview hotel, you will pay a premium for this amenity on island.

Do not let the prefix 'Best Western' put you off! This hotel is in typical Italian/Capri style and literally a few steps away from the Quisisana. We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of June 2012 in a double room/balcony with a charming view over the lemon terrace and pool. The room was clean, spacious, light and airy. The bed was large and comfy. The bathroom was ideal. Breakfast was lacking slightly but the delightful view from the terrace and friendly serving staff more than made up for it. Reception was spacious, smart and airy and all the staff extremely friendly and willing to help in any way they could - even the cleaning maids had a cheery 'Buongiorno' everytime our paths crossed! All in all a delightful Hotel.
The Ristoranti Faraglione (next door) is recommended by the Hotel to dine at night but we found this to be very basic. A much better restaurant, and one we always choose, is Vila Verde.
