Hotel Gatto Bianco

Clean and well located, the hotel doesn't have the charm you would expect for the pictures and the lovely name. Our room had a inner terrace, which was quite nice, but apart from that the hotel is just average. The breakfast buffet is very poor, the hotel rooms are old fashioned, there are no free services (wifi access is quite expensive). The hotel is family-run, but they are not specially kind, they could (and should) pay more attention to guests.

We had also a bad experience with our room, that had a small street on the back and everyday around 6AM we were awaken by people unloading things, for 15 minutes or so. If you finally end up in this hotel and they offer room 22, don't take it.

They have a nice garden to have a drink outside and, of course, a beautiful white cat, that is as umpleasant as its owners.

Room was impeccably clean, staff were friendly and helpul. The hotel has a unique character that differentiates it from the others in the center and makes it more traditional - the ceramic floors in the main hall are exquisite. Will definitely come back.

We recently stayed for onenight at the Gatto Bianco. It was perfect. Unless you are staying for many days in Capri, is it best to stay right near the pedestrian center and this hotel is perfectly located. That being said, I don't hink any rooms have sweeping sea views, but we didn't need that. The room was as lovely as the public spaces, the breakfast was great. My only complaint is that I needed to get up and request a cappucino at breakfast. We arrived early at the hotel and our room was ready. Finally, Matisse, the actual 'gatto bianco" was adorable!

Thank you, Gatto Bianco, for a marvelous visit to Capri!

My friends and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel was definately located perfectly and centrally. It was a few paces from all the great shops, cafes and piazza. The staff were helpful and the owner, Tonnino, was always there readily willing to give recommendations of where to go to eat. My only complaint is that the mattresses were thin and uncomfortable although this seems to be a pretty constant issue with Italian hotels and residences.

the location of this hotel is fabulous.Less than a minutes walk to the main square of capri and right in the heart of the pedestrian zone ! i loved the hotel as we had a 2 bed suite ( we were 4 adults and 1 child age 11 ) which was huge and very comfortable. it consisted of 2 double bedrooms plus 2 full bathrooms ( 1 of which was huge ) , a spacious living area and, above all, a private terrace/balcony to sit outdoors and enjoy some wine or coffee ! i have to say that the look and feel of the hotel was a bit dated and you could feel its age, but, that did not affect our stay there. the owner, mr tonini, came out at breakfast time to recount stories of yesteryears and mingle with the hotel guests which to me added a personal touch and was very charming. the reception staff were helpful and responsive to our queries and needs. if you are a family or larger group, i strongly suggest you book and stay in the 2 bed suite here in gatto bianco !!

The hotel is so squiky clean is unbelievable, the location is great and definetively there is value if you compare it to other hotels in Capri. The breakfast was quite a dissapointment compared to our hotels in Naples and Rome. The problem with this hotel is that the atmosphere is not great and you feel totally disconnected to the place.
Having said that the hotel is not a bad stay by any means and the owner is on top of his hotel.

I have stayed at the Gatto Bianco twice now and enjoyed it both times. On both occasions we had a small room with a balcony overlooking the town. To the right you can see the sea and one of the Faraglioni rocks. I must say, the tiled floors throughout the hotel are absolutely beautiful.

The rooms are quite well appointed with plenty of storage space. The beds are very comfortable. There is a safe and a minibar, but I did not make use of these. The maid services the room in the morning and turns down the bed and refreshes the towels (if necessary) in the evening. Breakfast was tasty, with a wide selection of cereals, breads, yoghurt, fruits, etc.

All in all a very nice hotel in a perfect location. Highly recommended. In fact I look forward to going back myself.
