We sadly only had one night here but loved everything about it. Our bed was very comfortable with beautiful linen, stunning bathroom lighting and shower, and superb breakfast with many options we haven't been offered elsewhere. Loved every moment.

Room Tip: A reminder Amalfi coast hotels don't provide irons or kettles in rooms.

This was the second visit to this hotel, one of the best in the world! First visit was last year with our 21yr old daughter. The experience was so perfect that we returned this past summer again with our 3 other adult children and granddaughter. It sits on a secluded part of the island; that is the beauty of it. The staff are very discreetly there for your every possible need. They took care of all transfers (including the arrangement of a private car from Rome), and made the entire trip relaxing and peaceful. The meals at the hotel are perfect, especially breakfast and lunch overlooking the water and my daughters loved the spa services. All in all, one of the most wonderful 2 vacations we have ever taken and can't wait to go back again. This is not a child oriented hotel; however that was not what we were looking for.

Room Tip: It appears that all rooms have a beautiful view

This hotel is in a lovely quiet spot, overlooking the sea and cliffs the opposite side of the island to the harbour. I would say its worthy of it's five stars but lacks that certain something in service that makes it exceptional. I agree with other reviews that it did seem deserted at times both of guests and staff. I would say if your looking for a pretty, quiet hotel with great views, choose this one, but don't expected much in the way of atmosphere. The views from the breakfast dining area are the best i've experienced. The quality of the buffet was good but selection slightly limited for what I would expect for a hotel in this category. Our room with its high ceiling was spacious/airy and was very nicely finished. The balcony we had overlooked the pool and bar, with full view of the sea and cliffs. We ate at the restaurant once for lunch and thought the food was good. We choose to eat further up the road for dinner where there was a little more atmosphere.

It terms of the service...
My mother and I arrived at the port at dusk and were hoping to be met by the hotel representative from the boat to take our bags to the hotel. The hotel representative wasn't at the boat and i had to walk around the harbour with my bags twice before we decided to wait near the taxi stand and call the hotel. He found us after a 5-10minute wait and took our bags. We were told where the hotel was and had to navigate our own way there with no map and very little guidance, luckily iPad in hand we managed to find it at the end of the dimly light pathway.
When we arrived at our room we found that there was a double bed, when I had requested twin beds, so we had to wait for house keeping to come and remake the room, which to their credit was carried out swiftly.
We had to find a member of staff a couple of times for a drink at the pool bar which was a little frustrating.
I think my expectations of service are reasonable and don't expect everything to be perfect, but when you paying upwards of £400 a night you expect the service to be a little more than ordinary.

Although it is 5 months since our stay, our memories of our stay at this hotel are still fresh and we have already booked a return trip to Capri for May 2013 and plan to stay again. Even before arriving the hotel was helpful and informative by email in relation to luggage and recommendations for restaurants. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite as it was our wedding anniversary which meant we had a fabulous view and a private sunbathing area. Whilst the decor is somewhat eclectic this added to the overall interest / appeal for me. The hotel is tucked away but only a 10 minute walk from the hub hub which we enjoyed as the location gave uninterrupted sea views and it was so peaceful. Breakfast was excellent and we didn't miss the ability to order hot food as commented on in other reviews, given the array of choice. We didn't eat at the hotel in an evening as it was too quiet so our restaurant highlights were Il Geranio (recommended by the hotel) and Edode where we dined twice as the food, service and ambience were outstanding.

Room Tip: Don't miss the sea view, it's worth it!

Great hotel, located right on the cliffs of Punta Tragara. The lobby is very distinctive and decorated to celebrate its older history. Our room was around the 3rd floor above the pool area and had amazing views and a little outdoor patio, which was nice. Rooms were modern and refreshing - decent bedding and clean feel to it, unlike most of the other hotels we stayed in while in Italy.

The hotel is very expensive but we were looking to stay in one of the nicest hotels in Capri. I think the hotel does live up to its pricepoint, for the most part. Also, the front desk staff was very professional and helpful. However, there was very little activity in the hotel and it felt a bit deserted. We were there in mid-September so perhaps it is more lively during the earlier summer months. The pool areas were very nice with amazing views. However, the pool bar drinks were off the charts expensive so BEWARE.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the main town center but not inconvenient to get to town and nice to be a bit more remote than in the middle of town.

We did not go to the beach because it was a long steep walk down there which I couldn't do because of being pregnant.

We did not eat at the hotel (except breakfast which was included) but highly recommend the restaurant at the nearby hotel, Villa Brunella.

This was one of the nicest hotels, I have ever seen and stayed at. The beautiful surroundings coupled with the inspiring design are an unbeatable combination. We loved our room with its huge bathroom, well furnished bedroom, separate sitting room and spacious balcony with a view of the iconic Il Foraglioni rocks. The professional staff was helpful, friendly and extremely accurate with boat information, connections and other needs. We would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and got upgraded to a suite with an outstanding view- room 10. The room was beautiful itself but there was a distinct smell which reminded us of a moldy/ musty smell. In retrospect we maybe should have complained but having gotten upgraded we felt bad I guess? The breakfast was great- abundant spread including meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, bread/rolls/ croissants, delicious cappacino to wash it down. If it weren't for the smell I might give 5/5. They also carried our bags to and from Marino for a charge, but worth it. Staff pleasant and the hotel restaurant was also great.
